Fun fact about the Jump spell thing: If your health and/or Acrobatics is high enough to survive the fall damage from a 100 point Jump spell, then just taking the fall damage helps raise your Acrobatics even further, because apparently breaking your legs helps you jump better.

He does a bunch of skits of things he's seen as a paramedic and is the actor for every character in the skits. This was the first game I pulled an accidental all nighter on. I remember hearing bird sounds and going, "Man, the birds sounds so realistic." Then I realized it was real birds outside and noticed how bright it was getting and paniced when I saw it was 4am and I had to work at 7. You're on a right track with "Weakness to element" in your damaging spells, but if you also add "Weakness to Magicka" as the first effect (by itself it would do nothing, but it magnifies the elemental weakness effect), it will increase the overall damage by about 50% if not more, because now your magnified elemental weakness will boost the damage effect by a magnitude. Very useful to have for pocket nukes.
And put that 100% magicka resistance on self for 1 sec as first effect to counter any reflect effect. And (if you are not playing as nord-ice mage or aragonian/redguard poison mage or dunmer fire mage) slap resistance to used element 100% for 1 sec on self - it costs nothing in final magicka cost of spell, but golden saint or daedra will never be a problem with reflect ever again.
that also made me wonder if the High Elves' innate 50% Weakness to Magic also amplifies their other passive weakness to elemental magics minus Poison? what I know is that I've tried a High Elf character with The Lover Birthsign, using the Lover's Kiss power amplifies the 200 pts Damage Fatigue to Self into 300 pts instead
"how do they measure the pain of venom" wasnt there that one professor/biologist who let hemself be bitten by animals and made a scale based on how painful it was?
Yup. The Schmidt sting pain index. Kind of wild to think about, that most of our knowledge about extent of pain comes from one absolutely bonkers dude willingly getting himself stung and bitten.
There's also Coyote Peterson (Brave Wilderness) here on RUclips who gets stung and bit by a bunch of different animals. He was accidentally bitten by a Gila Monster and said it was the most painful vertebrate bite he'd ever felt.
as above, there are at least two people that have done this. unfortunately for them though, the indexes they made aren’t able to be used clinically a problem appears when you realize pain is subjective, not everyone experiences pain the same way nor does everyone have the same tolerance to pain, that and also they obviously can’t test lethal poisons or venoms
Justin o. Schmidt made an index for the pain of hymenopterans sting, he also made a really good book on the subject named “Sting of The Wild”, I recommend reading it!
Sunder is more guarded because its the tool that draws the power from the heart. Keening flays and directs the the power from the heart after Sunder struck it. So Keening seems to be useless without the Sunder and by itself does nothing to the heart. But when Sunder draws the power and Keening hits the heart multiple times instead of once, the energy drawn becomes unstable enough to break original binding enchantments from the tools.
A fun spell for dealing with Cliff Racers, its called Saint Jiub's Prayer. 1pt of Levitate on target for 1 second in 10ft. Its fun to use powerful levitate magic to fly around and aggro a bunch of them, drag em up high, and hit em with it.

to my understanding the bacterial infection theory came from the fact that one of their common targets, water buffalo, were too big for the venom to be able to kill them on its own, but have an instinct to retreat into deep water to escape predators, which got their injuries infected. The bacteria in the actual komodo's mouth is no more lethal than any other animal's. Course, don't quote me on this, I might be missing some details.

Well, to sort of continue where he left off. Fun fact, the toxic komodo bite is actually a myth created by confirmation bias. Komodos have venom, and that gets smaller animals. When a komodo bites a buffalo, however, it survives and it becomes an endurance hunt. These buffalo aren't like the kind you find in the states, these are water buffalo, which can kften be found lounging around in very muddy stagnant pools of water... where those bite wounds then end up infected. It has been found that komodo saliva doesn't have much more bacteria than any other living thing, and the small difference it has, comes from its tendency to eat carrion (dead things).

I was just wondering "hey, no Just Background Noise video for quite some time. I'd watch one, though..." - and you've delivered almost immediately. I'm either lucky, or you were reading my mind. Considering how my life goes recently - how is it to be a mind reader, JBN?
I have no reason to believe you'll see this comment and I have no idea if I even hope you do or not. I'm currently about 48 hours into an insomnia episode due to medication shortages and discovering your channel has kinda helped keep me somewhere adjacent to sane. So thank you. Your understanding of TES lore, entertaining videos, and sense of humor are all really lovely. Also I hope your next video(s) brings back a dedicated animal facts bit. Animal facts are lovely and more people need to know about the beautiful misunderstood world of sweat bees.
I found your channel just recently. I lost someone very dear to me suddenly, and been struggling real bad with it. I watched all of your morrowwind videos and you uploaded one at the worst of it, and it is comforting. Keep doing you man, I appreciate it. By the way that's one of the best sponsor segments ever.
I remember playing through MW as a spellcaster once. Only premade spells and potions. No skill trainers. No merchant abuse. No weapons, too. Was quite a different experience compared to the usual "gilded juggernaut of infinite omnicide".
@11:20 There’s smart and then there is wise. Like Dr. Ian Malcolm’s quote from Jurassic Park; “Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could that they didn't stop to think if they should.”
32:59 It’s implied by a random NPC conversation in Skyrim that not everyone can cast magic. The Aspiring Mage got laughed out of the Mages Guild when he thought he could cast magic but it was his grandfather’s staff doing the work.
Don’t know if someones already told you but the whole komodos kill with they nasty mouths thing was the working assumption for awhile (mostly because can you imagine trying to get komodo venom from a komodo dragon?) but new research indicates it is actually a haemophilic venom with like some necrotic proteins, they’re properly considered venomous these days
Thanks to you being an entertaining creator, I actually went and bought all main elder scrolls games on steam specifically so i can start morrowind soon. Motivation works!
@@JustBackgroundNoise also, putting the slowfall effect on an item would allow you to cast it without the cast animation. and with 100% cast chance, probably a bit more reliable than trying to time casting it while falling through the air. ...edit. not 3 minutes after I typed that, I got to the point where you do exactly that. sigh.
I've been breaking Morrowind alchemy again recently, and just going everywhere with 50 points of levitation, becoming invincible in combat with restore health and fatigue, and casting overpowered spells with fortify intelligence and magicka. What a lovely way you gave to spice up my next playthrough
Best part about youtube is that I was like: "Oh shit I know how to resolve the slowfall issue RN!" and then couple minutes later I was like "Oh fck me TIL! *claps*!" with the mudcrab a MG guide thing. Mindblowing
I've always wondered why poison is so ludicrously expensive. Not only is it the most resisted damage type, but it's also the only damage type with a magical effect that can just end it instantly (and only it, compared to dispel which just removes anything). You'd think those things would make it the cheapest, but no. Weird.
You're too humble bro, I actually watch your videos instead of simply having them in the background. I sometimes have snacks and it's better than the movies lol
@@BoxyBox778 he implies that people play his videos in the background while doing other stuff, hence the name of the channel and the joke in this video

Thank you for posting! Been feeling really down recently, and videos like these really brighten my days. Plus, thanks to these, I always have something to put on background when I do crafts!
Thanks for being you and doing the content you do man, had a childhood friend pass a few months ago and you content have been a resent favorite to have on in the backround to keep the mind from going down the slipper slope of a downward spiralling depression, so once again thanks and much love and respect from this little heathen in Sweden!✌
Fun fact: After more studying, researchers figured out komodo dragons use their venom to try and kill as quickly as possible (so they don't have to share the food) and the whole bacteria thing comes from the prey (the buffalo video being the one most people are familiar with) going into a pool of dirt ass water. Komodo dragons actually have a fairly clean mouths for a carnivore.
Fun fact: you can get all the needed flowers on a meadow next to Vassir-Didanat Cave past the rope bridge, so you can get all the mushrooms and flowers before even reaching Balmora. You're welcome 👍
New studies have shown that the komodo bacteria is relatively similar to common bacteria in most vertebrates mouths and the venom is actually medically significant. The rumour came from a cow that died with an ankle bite but the cow stood in disgusting stagnant water which ended up giving the cow an infection.
Komodo dragon venom is now actually thought to be the main thing that is effective in their hunting. The mouth bacteria hypothesis while very interesting and a great story, doesn't seem to hold up to modern scrutiny. Mostly the mouth bacteria of the Komodo dragon is about the same as any other similar carnivorous reptile. They are still badass, but it seems like they kind of just exsanguinate their prey by getting a bite or two on it that won't stop bleeding and then tracking them down repeatedly until they just can't keep running.
Your writing and humour is so fiercely on point I've been rewatching your morrowind videos daily. Hell I might even watch your runescape videos even though I have 0 interest in it. You're THAT good of a creator.

I just recently got the urge to play it again ( been a couple of years ) and have been experiencing the Tamriel Rebuilt mod for the first time and WOW is all I can say! Keep up the great work!
Thanks to your videos, I finally decided to play morrowind! Ive just beaten Dagoth Ur today and I’ve enjoyed it throughly. Now I just have the expansions to go through.
Great vid like always. But to answer your question in regards to Sunder and Keening, basically Dagoth Ur keeps em split apart so that they can be studied, but also to keep someone from just sneaking in instantly, grabbing both while having Wraithguard, and using them on the Heart before anyone knows what's going on.
To my knowledge many lethal venoms tend to go the route of "cut off oxygen via paralysis" or "destruction of nervous tissue" which, while likely still painful, probably doesn't come close to the amount of pain you'd feel from venom that's designed specifically to cause pain. Gila monsters typically don't exchange venom except for self-defense purposes, and many self-defense mechanisms aren't designed to kill in the first place - only to drive off whatever thing is bothering them for long enough to mount an escape.
Magic is seemingly not out of reach of anyone aslong as they are willing to spend alot of time training and have a master pointing them, we know this from the Four Suitors of Benitah
I'm late to the party but as another fun Gila Monster fact, they are no more closely related to True Lizards than Snakes are. However both Gila Monsters and Snakes are more closely related to True Lizards than Geckos are, and are more closely related to each other than they are to True Lizards.

something so silly, but your videos have helped me a lot in the last few months. no essay or anything, but i lost a parent very suddenly and your videos have helped me sleep so many of these rough nights. i’m a loyal sub now, now an owner of morrowind, and i can’t wait to see what crazy content you come up with. all the best! 🖤
JBN is over here dominating the RUclips game.
Some of the most relaxing, humorous, and extremely informative challenge runs I've ever seen.
"you really think if I had a clone, I wouldn't have the clone do the editing?"
pff im dead
I was just wondering "hey, no Just Background Noise video for quite some time. I'd watch one, though..." - and you've delivered almost immediately.
I'm either lucky, or you were reading my mind. Considering how my life goes recently - how is it to be a mind reader, JBN?
In Argentina slang "Gila" is the femenine of "Gil", that means something along the lines of fool
You have more self control than I for not naming your character Lifts-Her-Tail
Your ads are always so entertaining, I love watching them, lol.
"Without background noise?" *looks directly at me, knowingly*
To my knowledge Gila Monster venom isn't lethal but it is incredibly painful and will make the average recipient wish it was lethal
That seems like a trend with all the non outright lethal venoms. Platypus venom is supposedly super painful and can cause pain for years after.
Argonian with colovian fur helm makes me happy
I remember playing through MW as a spellcaster once. Only premade spells and potions. No skill trainers. No merchant abuse. No weapons, too.
Was quite a different experience compared to the usual "gilded juggernaut of infinite omnicide".
I love you finally mentioned that any point you start talking deep lore with a million names it does start to sound entirely like gibberish
i love how progressively more meta the videos are getting. the opera ad was golden
@11:20 There’s smart and then there is wise.
Like Dr. Ian Malcolm’s quote from Jurassic Park; “Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could that they didn't stop to think if they should.”
i love that quote
Dude, I'm loving the fact that you're doing bits with your camera and such. Its awesome to see the face behind the quality content!
32:59 It’s implied by a random NPC conversation in Skyrim that not everyone can cast magic. The Aspiring Mage got laughed out of the Mages Guild when he thought he could cast magic but it was his grandfather’s staff doing the work.
2:45 amazing
Don’t know if someones already told you but the whole komodos kill with they nasty mouths thing was the working assumption for awhile (mostly because can you imagine trying to get komodo venom from a komodo dragon?) but new research indicates it is actually a haemophilic venom with like some necrotic proteins, they’re properly considered venomous these days
2:39
I feel called out by this very relatable ad segway.
Thanks to you being an entertaining creator, I actually went and bought all main elder scrolls games on steam specifically so i can start morrowind soon. Motivation works!
re: the venom discussion, non-lethal is probably more painful because pain stops when you die.
I guess doctors don't quiz people on how much a rattlesnake bite hurts. Missed opportunity.
@@JustBackgroundNoise also, putting the slowfall effect on an item would allow you to cast it without the cast animation. and with 100% cast chance, probably a bit more reliable than trying to time casting it while falling through the air.
...edit. not 3 minutes after I typed that, I got to the point where you do exactly that. sigh.
really enjoy the small bits of comedy you manage to weave into the video among all the info
Always brings me joy to see your face in my sub box. Looking forward to this one!
4:06 You're one of two RUclipsrs I haven't skipped over their add segment. Well done making it entertaining!
Divayth Fyr saw the plot twist for that sponsorship segment coming from a mile away.
Wtf?
@@BoxyBox778 he implies that people play his videos in the background while doing other stuff, hence the name of the channel and the joke in this video
"No pause screen buff cheese"
SACRILEGE, THIS MAN IS TOO GAMER TO BE LEFT ALIVE
this video may be about poison, but i feel like i understand the whole of morrowind's mechanics more thoroughly after enjoying this unhinged masterpiece. never change, lemon
Wrong channel, but Lemon's a pretty cool guy.
Ever since RUclips recommended your Morrowind content, I've been watching religiously. Some of my favorite videos to watch before sleeping.
2:44 got me good
Fun fact: After more studying, researchers figured out komodo dragons use their venom to try and kill as quickly as possible (so they don't have to share the food) and the whole bacteria thing comes from the prey (the buffalo video being the one most people are familiar with) going into a pool of dirt ass water.
Stoneflower petals are easy to find just outside the northern gate of caldera when you pop there for orcish armour/master alchemy sets
Good tip, thanks!
it's always funny to imagine the "Teleport the Heart to a Mages Guild" bug from the perspective of a Mages Guild NPC
Congrats on 50k subs Mr. Noise
“It looks like some crumbling metal, but I’d like to think there’s something more metaphysical going on here.” Morrowind in a nutshell honestly.
Hell yeah love the morrowind stuff
Your writing and humour is so fiercely on point I've been rewatching your morrowind videos daily. Hell I might even watch your runescape videos even though I have 0 interest in it. You're THAT good of a creator.
i’ve never really played much of morrowind but these are genuinely like top 3 content on youtube for me, do hope you keep it up
holy shit 43 seconds ago
The clone bit rocks. That's one of the first sponsors I didn't mind watching
i was playing osrs with this on in the background and got really confused by hearing the catacombs of kourend music at 42:20, nice music choice, great videos 👍
I just recently came across your channel and fell in love with your Morrowind content immediately! It's hands down my favorite game ever made. I just recently got the urge to play it again ( been a couple of years ) and have been experiencing the Tamriel Rebuilt mod for the first time and WOW is all I can say! Keep up the great work!
Uh... Are those eggs usually just floating every where like that? 18:32
Therana's an odd one.
However both Gila Monsters and Snakes are more closely related to True Lizards than Geckos are, and are more closely related to each other than they are to True Lizards.
please never stop making videos, don't even have to be about morrowind, anything you enjoy, just keep it up
Just when i finished watching every video of yours for the fourth time you've uploaded!!! I love your content so much! Thank you for creating, you make my day SO much better :D
The fucking sponsor segment got me to subscribe. You're great at this.
This is the first video of yours I've seen and I'm sold.
I wanted to ask what spell animation mod is it, but it all was in description, thanks! I like that.
I had to re-watch that intro like 6 times X,D
Thanks you for a good little laugh, now for the rest of the show.
Just wanna say man, you make some of the best morrowind content out there, and considering how long this games been out it's big kudos. Keep it up brother
I've never played Morrowind but I've seen all your Morrowind videos.
MORE. I NEED MORE.
If you don't know since you're using openMW when making multiple potions you can type the number in the bottom left and it will make them all at once, you don't need to worry about making a 100 weak potions the game will individually calculate each potion that's made as you level up, it does all of this instantly.
2:30 I love that inside joke.. and I definitely appreciate the background noise also..👍😂❤️
First, I love your videos. Best Morrowind videos on the platform. I have to say 2:44 caught me off guard. I looked away and looked back to being stared down by a pair of Harkonens!
27:32 some dark elf saying "there is someone watching me, I can tell"
While 20 meters away a catapulted lizard arrives onto the scene like Kazuya Mishima showing up to fight his battles
I was literally thinking about these videos and then I look in the sidebar while watching a Super Horror Bro video, and bam, there you are with a new video. You truly do some of the most torturous stuff in Morrowind lmao
also the animal facts are top notch
JUST as I am preparing to get some sleep, this drops. 😩At least I have something to look forward to in the morning. Thanks JBN. 🙏
at 40:00; creating Tamriel's first space program xD
I literally fall asleep to your videos and that's not a dig at all I love your videos and watch them bit your voice(no diddy) literally is like asmr and puts me out lol
i am not gonna lie i just got the meme behind your name and i cannot believe how true it is for these morrowind vids perfect to fall asleep too Lmao i've binged your vids now i suffer to upload consistency
“Oh that’s easy as shit” *sees its in morrowind and not oblivion* “oh, oh no”
Also I’m glad to see how far you came from your RuneScape stuff. Now u got sponsors and stuff. Great work
Absolutely love your content. Theres a shocking lack of good Morrowind content. And you are so entertaining
This channel has finally got me to play Morrowind, and I love it. Can't figure out how to use Quick Keys or make Taunting/Admiring happen fast.
I think this channel might have the most apt name in relation to the video content. This video was my first exposure to you, and I did actually use it for background noise. Noice, have a sub
I watch this to fall asleep too. Something about his voice helps me doze off. Love your videos!
You are amazing background noise while I'm working. Thank you. (I try to upvote when I'm directly looking at my youtube browser)
“Ashu-Ahhh was probably the easiest to kill since it was just the two of us… He couldn’t make it if he tried”
Nice 👏👍
