Funny coincidence: I'm adding list validation to the Old World Builder right now while watching this battle report and hearing you guys talk about that missing feature :). So you don't have to check things like "0-1 X per 1000 points" etc. for much longer!
@DahVoozel it removes all the spontaneity too. There's no "damn, I got too close to the knights" moment or coming up just short after making a push. You end up with games where either both players play the premeasurment game optimally, in which case nothing ever happens, or one player decides to lose the game and move into range so something happens and they just get hammered for daring to try to play the game. It's really killing interest in the old world for me.
Back in ye olden days of older Warhammer though the reverse was really annoying. If you played the game long enough your guesses tend to be pretty accurate and it made playing on some elaborate tables pretty jarring too. There were other ways to game it too. "I'll declare a charge on this unit." "But it's on the other side of the board?" "Well we need to measure it to make sure it's failed... okay now to guess my cannon's range." Allowing pre-measuring fixed these issues easily.
Pre-premeasurement one had also some ugly sub inches discussion after you declared/roll charges and measure the success, now it's clear before you roll what is needed which is much better for unwanted tensions at the table.

That site is amazing. Thanks for all your hard work. 🥰
I love the sportmanship with this channel. you guys are great!
Remember that Dragon Princes have a 6+ ward for any wound suffered!
Thanks guys, enjoyed it!
very cool to see Strigoi list. That is the kind of theme I want to pull off.
Very entertaining battle report. Thanks for posting this!
Classic matchup! Rough game for the shiny bois though
Great battle! Very tactical with movement. As always good sportsmanship.
Wait Redwall was a cartoon???? I read ALL the books as a kid. My kids are reading them now!
I wish GW would license it....
Hey Steve doesn't roll awesome all the time!
It will be EPIC battel :D
Agree, ruby ring should be banned.
@@emilrudnielsen2972 no it shouldn’t.
I kind of hate the premeasurment in games like this. The whole "tee hee, I'm 1/4 inch outside your charge range" thing gets really boring.
A lot of the skill in Old Hammer was judging distances.

In friendly games I just round down, no decimals or fractions, you’re either in or out
