I've seen a few comments mentioning how it's too bad Aya took after her father in the end. and that's true. fair. she _did_ continue his research. but people also seem to forget Dio only really made her promise to remember her father's subjects and the hell they'd gone through. which she also does. hence why she seems to go out of her way to lie and comfort her patients before putting them under heavy anesthetics as we saw in the last scene of the game. she remembers, and does everything in her power to make sure her "patients" are under as little stress/pain as possible. now I'm not saying she's any better then her father, she still kills people. I'm just saying she did technically still keep her promise. her methods are far more ethical at the end of the day, intentionally set up to contrast her father's means of experimentation.
Her experiments probably wouldn't be as good as her father one tho if she kills them first. U need live subject reaction to really perform an experiment. I'm sure she will soon get bored of just performing an autopsy on ppl and they also decay faster too no matter how much she does to try to preserve them.
She also seems to target people who are already sick and/or dying because she specifically only kills people who go to her clinic for treatment, as opposed to her father’s tendency to just steal people off the street. Both are still pretty bad, but at least Aya’s targets already have little chance at life because they didn’t have the money to afford any other clinic and just went to the free one.
Thanks for this explanation, at the end her actions do seem slightly better although morbid. It actually makes sense that she would resort to killing considering all the trauma and ptsd she went through. Not that it makes her actions okay, def still morbid @ @;

I mean the fact that her patient can make her way to the clinic alone, talk to the nurse , and she doesn't even do a full checkup and puts the victims under anesthesia to sleep, to then there is no guarantees she kills them first before experimenting.. is no better or different than actually her father that picks his victims from the streets to give them shelter and presumably "treatment" as well. both disguise themselves as compassionate good people but kill them for their own sick fetish for human experimentation.

If you browse around the Brown Area, a story about a girl who is lost, hungry, and thirsty finds herself trapped inside a gallery. At first glance you might think it’s recapping Ib’s experience. But Mary realizes the words blurr for her so she can’t read it well. Another passage that is blurry for Mary is her own portrait in the book of Guertena’s Works. The portrait is obviously about Mary, but for some reason she’s unable to read it. She can’t read the lost girl story either. This shows us the lost human girl who died was, in fact, Mary also. Painting’s can’t get hungry or thirsty. Thus proving Mary used to be human.

I love this song cause the whole "evil doll that wants to kill you thing" is old and that kind of story doesn't really appeal to me. The lyrics really tell the story (bad end) and you can tell the doll is just a poor lost soul, which I really like the idea of. Plus this and the original are just both beautiful to listen to.
