I find these tours so interesting to see invested fish keepers, the people who stick with the hobby for years and what they choose to keep and what breeds of fish interest them. If you can manage this many tanks and it's your love I say go for it. I hope Dustin keeps doing these interviews for us who don't get a chance to hit as many shows and meet a lot of these folks who share their knowledge and love for what they do.

Thanks for the tour of Mr. Browns fish room! Awesome! The hidden away pond was very interesting. 200 gallons, wow! How cool would that be to have that in your house!?! Love it! I'm also enjoying the fish room tours. Thanks!
Wow that's a great fish room. He has some beautiful fish and love the layout of the tanks. I like how he has the hexagon tank in the corner of the room with the other tank right up to it. Thanks Dustin for sharing the video.
Hey dustin would you be able to do some vids on betta fish tank setups..just asking....love your channel btw...been in the hobby for just a little while and you have great tips
Thanks for posting this, Dustin. What an amazing room! Epic doesn't even begin to adequately describe how awesome that room is. Wish I had the funds, the space, and the wherewithal to put a room like that together.
Man that's a really cool fish room, I need to set something like that PRONTO!! I am going to make my office at home into a fish room period my partner has hir own hobbie/playroom so it won't be a problem.
How does he do maintenance on the tanks on top of the pond? There are too many tanks in the way. Love the room though. And I see myself doing the same in the future!
Joined my local fish club tonight (Rocky Mountain Cichlid Association here in Denver) and saw Larry Brown and then noticed that you're coming to speak to our club next year! Excited to learn some things from you in person. Also, I will definitely not come up to you and say, "What's up fish tank people!?" I know that shit gets annoying. Instead, I'll say something like, "Hello." like how normal people greet each other. (:
Great fish rooms, but I'd still like to see their personal tanks. To me it's like a Takashi Amano aquarium build. After I gleen what knowledge I can, I wonder what he has at home. They showed one of his home tanks......it didn't suck :)!!
Dustin can u do a vid on how to manage Kh and Gh? everyone worries about the Ph and not many people have vids about how the Gh and Kh relate to maintaining a go and steady Ph. Also i have a Bosemani Rainbow that lost its color when i switch to a dirted planted tank. Its been two weeks and hes lost ALL color. Cant figure it out. i think it might be my water hardness thats preventing my Ph from lowering. Anyways i think many people will be helped out by talking about Kh and Gh. Keep on with those sick tanks man!!!
Dustin's Fish Tanks hey Dustin I'm new to your channel and I gotta say I love it!!! I have a couple question about this guys room. is this is the basement floor? If it's not is he worried ever about his house collapsing due to weight. Also his tanks seem to be just piled one on top of each other, is it common when doing this type of setup tanks on the bottom break because they can't handle the weight?
Fro57 I finally was privileged to visit Larry's house. In the summer, he has multiple ponds outside and a small hot house so some of this gets moved out there. It is the basement floor. Someone else asked how he reaches the top tanks. I noticed a 2 step little ladder in there. It's a really nice setup.
August Duwell Not sure what he does but I do know that he's a member of the Colorado Aquarium Society and no doubt some one there helps out. Those groups are great for that stuff.
Cool tanks i have a 55 & a 20 gallon long in my 20 i have a baby electric blue jack dempsey cool little guy in the 55 baby geos.. Now im looking everywhere for a 125 gallon no luck yet.
Im really frustrated with fish keeping and feel like giving up. At first, i had 4 guppies. They all died within a week as i found out there was ammonia in my tap water and no amount of water changes could save them. Then, I learnt about cycling my tank and did tons of research on many areas of fish keeping and i currently have a 45 gallon freshwater dirted tank with hardy plants (like anubias and amazon swords and java ferns etc) After 2.5 months of cycling, with checks on water conditions every other day with API test kit, the nitrogen cycle was complete. I then added 3 cory doors catfish to the newly cycled tank and added Prazzie gold (Which was recommended to me by a youtube channel to new fish to remove parasites). After 3 days, i checked the water parameters and found that the bacteria and filters were keeping up with the boiload. Then I came home today, 4 days after buying my fish, only to find out 2 of my corys are DEAD. I feel like giving up. What do I do. Hundreds of dollars and dozens of hours of research and setting up has amassed to nothing. Please help me.
Never treat your main tank, aways have a hospital tank for that, the meds you used if not used correctly can stress certain fish out, even to there death, only add a few fish per month, that will allow for proper time for your tank to adjust, if you add alot of fish at once you may want to increase your water changes to help your tank adjust, I would do only a couple per month 2 weeks at the least, but never treat your whole tank unless you have no other choice, if you dont have a hospital tank buy from a reputable lfs store, just my opinion, good be patient=)
jeremiemcd thanks for the input. I had researched on that but i must have forgotten. But it doesn't explain why they died so fast. In 4 days! The medicine could not have killed them and prozzi gold is a reputable brand (at least not so fast) and i followed the bottle instructions. And I only added 3 corries (supposedly very hardy fish) and by the inch per gallon rule, I could have added 20 fish. Im aware about adding few fish at a time. Im wondering whether it could be because the gravel caused the growth of bad bacteria and diseases or perhaps the dirt (a mix of organic potting mix, fluorite clay and crushed coral) had chemicals in them that could have killed off the fish.
jeremiemcd also, I thought you could add activated carbon into the filter to remove meds in the future? I tried to reduce stress by using drip method and covering the plastic bag with a dark cloth etc. thanks for your help man. Really looking for a solution
Ian Chananalinglong Also depends where your buying them from if you arent buying them from a LFS and are buying them from petco or something that could explain it.
Ian Chananalinglong I'm an old timer and I recently lost 5 fish in just a matter of a few hours after a water change. If my wife hadn't noticed the first one, I might have lost more. These things can happen and happen fast. The only way I saved the rest of my fish was to catch them and toss them into another tank that was already established. Best thing I did was to find someone near me when I first started and I visited with them and they visited with me.
My wife would never allow something like that to be in the house. I wouldn't set something like that up unless I had automated water changes going. That was the impressive item about the first fish room. I spend an hour a week on a 120, 33 and 5 gallon. I was overwhelmed with how many YEARS these rooms took just to setup. Can you imagine having to MOVE that room to a different location? Yikes.
I am not sure how he does the work on them. He has plenty of water around, i am sure it is some what automated- though i dont recall how. I actually just started playing with a top off system for my GH tanks after that first video as well. Just makes sense after seeing it live
+Dustin's Fish Tanks I found your channel today and have watched a few of your videos. Already I have learned a few things that will be implemented in my tanks.I shoot videos as a side gig and some of these videos, like this one, almost give me motion sickness. I am not sure what you use for your camera but with how much you are putting into this gig, a professional camera should be used. This is to match your professional advice and topics. Also slow down a bit, if your content wasn't so good I would have clicked off this a few other videos due to such fast motion.
Theres two types of fishkeepers. Ones that enjoy having a clean setep that has a specific fish they enjoy, and then theres hoarders that have a mess like this with all these tanks. This just gives me anxiety watching it.
I find these tours so interesting to see invested fish keepers, the people who stick with the hobby for years and what they choose to keep and what breeds of fish interest them. Larry your tank room is one of the best just so awesome and surreal
I'm jealous. Thanks for sharing this awesome fish room.

Wow that's a great fish room.
He has some beautiful fish and love the layout of the tanks. I like how he has the hexagon tank in the corner of the room with the other tank right up to it.

The turtle diary videos pushed me away, but the fish room videos are pulling me back.
Glad to see someone else using those clamp lights. I am using CFLs but after this I may switch to LEDs. There's so much confusing info on lights.
Hey dustin would you be able to do some vids on betta fish tank setups..just asking....love your channel btw...been in the hobby for just a little while and you have great tips

@Phoenix Fox Meh I'd suggest flixportal. You can find it on google =) -theo
@Theo Joziah thank you, I signed up and it seems to work =) Appreciate it!!
@Phoenix Fox you are welcome xD
Wow, what a great hobbie this is ! Great vid Dustin
oh yeah- I like how comfortable this place was to chill too. those chairs were low and ready for viewing and chilling.
Great video bro I am starting to build my fish room starting up a 135 gallon
Man that's a really cool fish room, I need to set something like that PRONTO!! I am going to make my office at home into a fish room period my partner has hir own hobbie/playroom so it won't be a problem.

Awesome!!!
How does he do maintenance on the tanks on top of the pond? There are too many tanks in the way. Love the room though. And I see myself doing the same in the future!
Im wondering if the floor is reinforced. Theres a lot of weight in that room.
Either a basement or concrete slab home..or just an old home with really big and many large beams under it.
Madagascan Rainbows!!!! I'm so Jelly!!!

Great deal on from Pisces Pros, thanks. I ordered 5.
thanks, i thought so too
Where did he get those wooden fish silhouettes that are on the wall?
Does he only use sponge filters? For planted tanks?
I am surprised the tub isn't a planted discus tank
awesome
Impressionnant

I cant imagine having having any time to step outside your house with having to maintain that many tanks.
How do you take care of fish while your traveling? Do u have a friend feed them for u?
August Duwell Not sure what he does but I do know that he's a member of the Colorado Aquarium Society and no doubt some one there helps out. Those groups are great for that stuff.
How do one move around in there
Larry has a robot on wheels for maintenance. One does not simply move around in that fishroom! Lol
+Hmoob Thor I think he needs a warehouse
This is one awesome fish room! Lots of cool plants and fish:) Does he actually breed clownfish?
yes- and this is hard as $hit to do. You have to mess with the salinity incrementally....tight eh?
Nice
he has no middle support on the first 6" tank... is that ok or am I missing something?
I have a couple of madagascar rainbows!
can you show the fish you got back from peru bro? you got them elegent corys in your 240 right?
.."oh fo-sho"
Dustin's Fish Tanks Gnarly!
Cool tanks i have a 55 & a 20 gallon long in my 20 i have a baby electric blue jack dempsey cool little guy in the 55 baby geos.. Now im looking everywhere for a 125 gallon no luck yet.

Sorry but this place is a dump I mean there's like one tiny little guppy per tank
I don't really like fish rooms like these... To me it takes the beauty out of the tanks.
It must take ages to clean all the tanks

Can u tell larry that he made best fish room ever ask larry where he got his 100 gallon fish tank
my neighbors house looks like this but she got mostly goldfish and cichlids

I wonder what his water bill is? LOL
Ok that is a pretty sweet room. However it looks like he spread himself too thin. idk I am a little more anal about my tanks so I imagine I am bias.
what are thoooooossseee
That is the worst case of MTS I have ever seen! (multiple tank syndrome)
LOL, without a pause I knew what MTS was. I guess I'm one of us; one of us :D!

All that space wasted on freshwater fish... *Sigh*
+magicstix0r all that time wasted complaining about freshwater fish... sigh
Volpierein All that time wasted giving an opinion that no one cares about about the amount of time taken to comment on silly freshwater fish.
+magicstix0r I have the weirdest boner right now.... sigh....
I like freshwater tanks more cause in this amount of tanks its much easier to keep
