I bowled on candlepin leagues for years. It's even more fun than it looks. So much different than tenpin bowling. Being able to strategize playing the deadwood. It helps and hinders. More a game of spares rather than strikes. Unfortunately it's a sport of the northeast and parts of Canada. It never seemed to catch on in other parts of the country.
That's almost unfair, pairing the best male and female bowlers at the time against the field. Tom certainly was a star, but Toni-Marie was equally effective in her own right.
I've just spent 20 minutes watching a sport I never knew existed. Fascinating to watch!
I felt the same way a month ago. Now I can't stop watching. Just wish it had any footprint in the Midwest.

There should be a comeback! Long live candlepin bowling!

3 Bowlers from my area. 2 from Webster including the brother of Stacia Czernicki and the other is from the Sturbridge/Fiskdale area.
Son of Stacia, not brother.
The Czernicki Brothers were her sons Ed and John they were my fathers neighbors. My grandmother use to do her hair.
