Robbie, Mr. Lincoln is classified as a tea rose. It has amazing strong stems and very nice fragrance. Very much enjoy watching your videos you warm this old grannies heart. Hope everyone has a blessed day.
In case you're interested in growing climbing roses, the main canes of climbing roses need to be tied to a structure at 45°-90° angles to encourage side shoots which will provide a lot more blooms (side shoots need to be cut back to about 6-8 buds). Otherwise, they just bloom at the top of the main cane. Have a good day, everyone!
Loved it when you said, "I'll take garbage that looks like rose petals!" Has to be the quote of the day! Your garden is filled with such fabulous roses and thank you so much for the tour!
Hi Robbie, Iḿ glad youve connected with Heirloom, they are the best. I have had such good luck with own root roses over the yrs. Thank you for this rose tour, it is really helpful to see what is doing well in other gardens in similiar zones. Iḿ impressed with the Pink Iceburg, I have the white and the burgundy versions which are both blooming right now. I have collected over 50 roses during my gardening life my top 4 are (this week) ; Phyllis Bide, Sally Holmes, Julia Child and Gabriel Oak they are prolific performers. Ive heard the Alnwick rose is pronounced ONwick. I like the fact that you trim in the fall! I think in the upper zones 9+ we can practically make it up as we go along!
Seeing a full view of your garden from the bottom of your garden, I agree with that comment in a previous video... YES a circular garden in the center of your lawn would be pretty.
Thanks to your channel I have been able to add roses to my garden and keep them alive. For years I would try and they wouldn’t survive. Heirloom roses are beautiful and I will be adding more to the garden this year.
Rosé enthusiast here (60+). Just a quick comment on Royal Jubilee. Not sure what is growing at the base of that plant, but roses do not like to compete with other plants. Any vegetation that is growing around them needs to be removed. I’m not sure if this is the issue here since you said it never broke dormancy, but perhaps try to remove the foliage on the soil and see if that helps. Come spring give it a boost with a good quality fertilizer and hopefully that will bring it back to life. Always love your videos! Thank you 🌹
what an awesome discount they are offering through your channel - I've been thinking about getting a few for my landscaping so I'll have to take a look at what they have. :)
Thank you for the coupon code, I have been wanting the climbing Eden rose. I love roses but I have so much shade in my garden that they don't perform as well as they should but I still plant them.
So bummed that I can't do roses-I love them but so do my deer that visit so I've just decided to say no. I will just admire yours Robbie and swim in rose envy, lol
I got Desdemona by accident last year and white roses havent usually been my thing - BUT what a great mistake! LOVE Desdemona!!, so healthy and awesome bloomer. Love Eden, but unfortunately got a bit of rust going this summer (probably just my area). I'm so glad you mentioned Heirloom roses in your last video as I bought some and will definitely buy more. As a matter of fact I've got the Wollerton climber coming and it looks so pretty. Usually just get DA roses but ventured into trying Kordes roses this year, so also on order have perfuma bliss with them. My garden has been primarily roses but watching so many you tube garden creators inspired me to under/side plant with other things this summer to compliment them. If you're ever in market for a bright yellow, David Austin's Golden Celebration is amazing. I dont typically like the color (prefer more muted) but this rose is such an amazing performer and smells so good (heirloom carries) and Gertrude Jekyll is an all time fave (smells divine). Soooo many gorgeous roses to choose from. Thanks for great video. I'm sooooo excited for spring!!
My Alnwick has bloomed all season. I'm in zone 6 so blooming season is over for this year. We had a hard freeze last night here in Indiana. Love Heirloom Roses. Roses are my favorite flower to have in my garden or anywhere. Great video! ❤❤
I have some of the same roses you do! I have white iceberg, Claire Austin, and a couple dozen more including about ten David Austin. Can’t wait for spring I should see many more flowers!👍😎❤️
I love roses but I’ve given up on them because of the amount of Japanese Beetles we get here in Kentucky and I don’t want to use pesticides to control them. They just destroy them. Do you get any Japanese beetles in California and if so how do you get rid of them. Your roses are beautiful.
I didn’t know about pink iceberg, but now I have to have it. Treat yourself to Belinda’s Dream. It’s a Prolific rebloomer in zone 9 all season long with huge, full & fragrant pink flowers. It’s absolutely fabulous!
I had a Silver maple covered in scale and an Autumn Blaze with some branches affected with it last fall. I put some 'BioAdvanced Tree and Shrub protect and feed' on it and within about 3 months, the scale had died and was flaking off. I also treated all of my trees and I had zero webworms or scale on any of my trees this year.
Robbie your roses are so beautiful. I had to abandon my rose garden a few years ago. The huge old mesquite tree finally won the battle. The roses thrived for years under its canopy until they didn’t 😢. Now I only have Knock Out single petal fuchsia roses. I’m considering replacing them as they are so old and seem to be struggling. I’m with you on pull the plans out if they don’t bring you joy. I truly hate watching a plant struggle. 😢 Great video.
🤣😂🤣 Hi Robbie! I had trouble sleeping so I listen to audiobooks and for some reason when I adjust the playback speed to 0.75 it just makes fall asleep fast. So, this morning, the first thing I did was to check your video and I was thinking, why is he talking like that? Is he drunk? Did he just woke up?!! Then I realized what was happening… I forgot to adjust playback speed to normal!!😅😅😅 Hope you get a kick out of this. It was so funny that I watched the entire video with you talking sooo slooooow liiiiikkkkkeeee uuuuuuu aaaaarrrrreeee drunk 😂❤😂
All the roses are so pretty! Love how you have them scattered throughout the garden. Wish I could smell them! Oh, Soul Sister, that color is gorgeous. The long stems on Mr. Lincoln are amazing. Thanks for the rose tour.
Hi Robbie, thanks for the rose tour. Because of you, I bought two Eden roses from Heirloom, my first roses ever. I got them in the ground September 14, and here in New Hampshire I was cutting it pretty close, but we have had a pretty mild fall. They have both put on a lot of growth so I think they are liking where I planted them and I can't wait until next spring to see how they do...I want more after seeing your tour but will have to wait. Thanks again, have a wonderful day!
Robbie I love roses, our water bill here is outrageous, so I just have a few. My favorite is Cecile Bruner. It’s a climber and pretty drought tolerant here on the central coast . You might want to think about replanting your rose by your gate in a bigger pot. Terracotta pots dry out very quickly, there is a paint you can use on the inside to seal the terracotta. It really helps. I love your enthusiasm and start my day watching your videos. Happy Gardening 🌻🧡
Robbie, you really have a nice variety of roses..Love the Claire Austen.... I was wondering, why not transplant your Queen of Sweden away from that darn tree? Won't you keep on having problems with honeydew and aphids?
Robbie! I commented before about the Soul Sister rose. OMG. My FAVORITE. Please look into Antique Rose Emporium in Brennan TX. They sell in two gallons for $29.99 now. I have put mine through the ringer. Even found thrips because I neglected so much. The most beautiful CONTINUOUS bloomer I’ll email my pics.
Oh Robbie, I love the Pink Iceberg and Silver Lining. Oh heck, I love them all. I garden in Southeast FL, zone 10A and I struggle with roses in the summer. I am going to go to the link - now is a good time to plant. Thank you.
Robbie, you are a joy! 🌹Your enthusiasm is so contagious! 😂 I'm gardening in 9A, but in the PNW. Are you going to do winter sowing? Love your channel and happy🥀 gardening! 👩🌾
Robbie your yard is magical and the Roses are Beautiful ! Unfortunately I get a lot of black spot on my Roses MY next Roses will be the Eden l HAVE to have it ! I HAVE to. Have it 😢 Like 10 of them . Your fabulous Robbie as usual .
Hi, Robbie! Question about your fence- I’m trying to decide if I should stain my fence black like yours. Do you find that the summer heat radiates off of it and hurts your plants? I live in Southern California-our summer highs reach 118. I’m worried the black might be an issue. Thoughts?
Robbie your Roses are gorgeous. I ordered the Eden Climber from Heirloom Roses about a month ago . It is doing well with growth no blooms but I’m not expecting any yet . I’m really tempted to order another Heirloom Rose ! I love your Pink Iceberg so I’m thinking of ordering that variety. All the roses on the website are beautiful so I can’t make up my mind . In the future I would like to have a variety that has smaller blooms that are compared by some to look like Dogwoods for added interest. Thank you for the discount code. 🌹🥀💐🏵️
I got a Meredith rose and she is gorgeous and smells soooooooooooo good. I want more roses too. I got a Ladybanks but she only blooms once a year, not happy about that. I always cut off rose hips because they are supposed to draw strength from the rose producing flowers. My spiders blew away in our horrible wind this week.
Thank you so much for sharing this with us! I can’t wait to get a rose with rose hips!! Currently I have 2 climbers an iceberg and new Dawn on a cattle panel arch trellis. This was year 2 for them and they bloomed!!! Unfortunately I’m in one of those areas the Japanese beetles attack 😢
This vlog is everything . Robbie your Roses are all gorgeous. Here in the Caribbean I've planted all of mine from cuttings. They are all blooming now and I couldn't be happier. Thank you so much for the tour. Happy Halloween.
Amazing that your roses are in full bloom at the end of October! Do you typically leave your rose hips or just during the fall/end of season? Do you fertilize your roses once established ie. in their 3rd year? In my first year at my Northern Illinois garden I planted 15 from Heirloom Roses! I’ve used the liquid fish fertilizer earlier in the season and mint compost to over winter. Fingers crossed they survive their first winter! First snow ❄️ flurries today on Halloween! 🎃 👩🏻🌾
Robbie, Mr. Lincoln is classified as a tea rose. It has amazing strong stems and very nice fragrance. Very much enjoy watching your videos you warm this old grannies heart. Hope everyone has a blessed day.
That Mr Lincoln is gorgeous...but then they all are!! 🌹Always up for a rose tour! 🌹Hi Brent

Do you cut back climbers much?
Yes, kind of like a wine grape vine pruning style. Prune canes and tie out horizontally and the flowering spurs will shoot up vertically.
Robbie your roses are beautiful my birthday flower is a rose,so you know I love roses.p.s you remind me of my nephew great smile,so keep on smiling.
Mr Lincoln is stunning. It looks like a rose from the good old days, so beautiful. 🌹
I can't believe someone was throwing that gorgeous rose away! Great find!
Loved it when you said, "I'll take garbage that looks like rose petals!" Has to be the quote of the day! Your garden is filled with such fabulous roses and thank you so much for the tour!

roses love mushroom compost. treat them to it in the spring. have had great success with heirloom roses.
Soul sister is such a gorgeous rose! I like the edible one though. Sorry I forgot the name.

Thanks so much Robbie ....I wish Soul Sister was hardy for zone 3, she’s everything! ❄️🇨🇦❄️
Robbie, what is your favorite rose in your garden for FRAGRANCE? Just the top one! Thanks!

I too have become hooked on roses this year. You have an amazing collection.

Roses are my favorite flower can't keep them growing without something happening, ants, black spots, won't bloom. Great video beautiful roses.
My Alnwick has bloomed all season. I'm in zone 6 so blooming season is over for this year. We had a hard freeze last night here in Indiana. Love Heirloom Roses. Roses are my favorite flower to have in my garden or anywhere. Great video! ❤❤
Your roses are beautiful. The Claire Austin petals look like feathers…I want one for my garden.
Gorgeous roses gorgeous
???Just watched Janie’s video with Michael Glassman 👻 Will you be stepping up your Halloween game next year? I would imagine you could be so creative!
Robbie! I think you have 6 or 8 on your top 4! Love it! ❤
Your roses are so pretty. I really enjoyed this tour. Thank you!🌹
Your cosmos are beautiful! I love how plants reseed in your yard!
Thanks Robbie. 🎃🍁🍂💚🙃
I have some of the same roses you do! I have white iceberg, Claire Austin, and a couple dozen more including about ten David Austin. Can’t wait for spring I should see many more flowers!👍😎❤️
I have 19 roses in my garden and can’t wait to add more. My next will be the Eden climber. Half of mine are heirlooms roses.
I love roses but I’ve given up on them because of the amount of Japanese Beetles we get here in Kentucky and I don’t want to use pesticides to control them. They just destroy them. Do you get any Japanese beetles in California and if so how do you get rid of them. Your roses are beautiful.

Beautiful!😍
Loved your tour 🌹 So many roses, love it! My problem is that I love and want them all, thank you for sharing the discount code for Heirloom!

I also treated all of my trees and I had zero webworms or scale on any of my trees this year.
I loved the rose tour. They are Aldo my favorite! I have 15 roses and can’t help but buy more. They are the plant that got me into gardening. ❤🌹
Love Heirloom roses they are the best. Such education and help with anything you need to grow the perfect rose❤. Nice video, thanks for the tour.

Would Desdomona like to grow along your fence?Maybe get some little white hooks and encourage it to grow along sideways….🤔🌷😊
The cosmos are still going for it, love that! Mine are all RIP from the frost in West Virginia 😂 💀 ✝️ ✌🏼
Luv the rose tour! Alnwick rose gets my vote for best rose in the garden. In fact, I think I should add it to mine. Thanks
Beautiful!! Thanks Robbie

Wow loved that pink heirloom rose

Beautiful
Another great video. I love your enjoyment of everything in your garden. How much do you grow from seed?
How long can you keep a rose in a pot? And do you prefer clay pots for them? Thx
I love roses! The ones that smell some of mine don’t smell at all.
Beautiful!
This vlog is everything . Robbie your Roses are all gorgeous. Here in the Caribbean I've planted all of mine from cuttings. They are all blooming now and I couldn't be happier. Thank you so much for the tour. Happy Halloween.
Didn't realize that you had so many rose bushes, mine just don't do very good, I have 2 left , they just don't make it.

Beautiful roses Robbie! I am also in zone 9a - California Central Coast. What do you recommend to use to get rid of aphids on roses? 🌹
I love heirloom roses, I always splurge for the stake 😅 🤦
Do you fertilize your roses every spring? 🎃🍁🍂💚🙃
more rose videos please
Are any of them fragrant?
