Jake doesn't just have a regular gun, it's a functional Gatling gun that is attached to him, so you can't just disarm him. In addition, he is a rattlesnake, so even if he runs out of ammo, he could still use his venomous bite. Viper, on the other hand, can't do much because she doesn't have fangs, and Jake is just a larger species of snake. And let's not forget the intimidation factor of Jake.
I think her fangs did at one point eventually grow, at least for a Legends of Awesomeness episode. But yeah no, last time I checked, only Po was able to deflect cannonballs with his bare hands, and Jake isn't firing a slow moving cannonball, he's firing lots of bullets. Viper might be able to dodge Jake's gatling gun for a few moments, but she'll eventually be gunned down.
Viper would be the only one I can think of that could survive him. She's quicker than Jake and might be able to outsmart him, but he's oddly more Terrifying to me with other characters outside Rango. Like we know the world of Rango, and Jake is towards the top of it. But everyone else at least has some kind of cartoon logic around them. Not Jake, it's fantasy but not cartoony. Those are real bullets that will kill you dead.
let's not get carried away. if Jake ran out of ammo, Viper would fold him, venom or not. she has some impresive physical and combat feats under her coils, which we have no reason to believe Jake could even come close to matching, he'd never get a bite in with the gun however... yeah, no amount of martial arts can beat a gun, specially since we are lead to believe Jake is a really good shot, like when he sniped that crow that tried to sneak snipe him before he could even shoot him by just hearing the sound of the riffle getting ready to shoot

It's kinda funny that Jake (a western diamondback rattlesnake), despite looking like a towering giant in his movie, is only just a little taller than Viper (a green tree snake) who is one of the smaller characters in her series.

At best he is a few feet smaller than Viper...And Viper isn't terrified of a bird, in fact, she goes toe to toe with creatures far bigger and stronger and was able to restrain a damned tiger. Jake and Viper have venom Kaa isn't resistant too as neither are cobras. And Jake is more than smart enough to aim for Kaa's head and not waste ammo on useless body shots. Kaa would get battered by Viper, since she can knock Po clean off his feet, and he likely weighs more than Kaa. Viper is the top pick if Jake didn't have a functioning minigun. Kaa could beat Jake and Mr. Snake if Jake didn't have any ammo left. Mr. Snake could also beat Jake if he didn't have a gun because Mr. Snake is the second largest in the group. But at the end of the day, there's a reason why the saying that "guns are the great equalizer" exists.

It could be argued that Jake had trouble aiming, going frantic trying to shoot a "hawk", and someone with enough agility could maneuver around him, but it's also important to note that the only thing that Jake stopped at... was another gun to his face. I don't think Viper is breaking through any defenses without heat AND a willing ness to kill.

As soon as he saw it was bats, he was gunning them down left right and center. His only panic was from hawk based ptsd as the hawk was the one that took off the end of his tail. Which is where the gun came from, its essentially a prosthesis. None of these guys could trigger him into a panic. So even that argument could be dispelled. He has this match in the bag.

Yeah but he's also reliant on volume of fire and Viper is a fast moving target. Jake has a lot of ammo but he also uses up a lot of ammo. And reloading probably slow.

i mean I still feel master viper has a solid chance at beating him. sure he has a machine gun but lets not forget she is both fast enough to react/dodge several fire spewing pipes on the floor and has the strength to take down pandas, leopards, or just hold a bridge up (things much greater in size to her). lastly while jake's gun is a machine gun it designed for use against small animals, while in kfp2 they were dealing with full sized canons, which do serve different tactical purposes. I feel for this fight location/use of environment can have a major impact on it
Also Jake is tiny if we go by him being just normal Rattlesnake height while Viper is big enough to wrap around Tai Lung who’s likely in the 6 ft range. With how tiny the bullets are in Rango it may not be as effective as people think, it would probably hurt but wouldn’t be big enough to really kill.
While I like master viper I feel like she doesn't really have much of a chance we are arguing they both have snake-like reflexes and speed and honesty when it comes to kung fu vs gun fu real life history would tell you otherwise. Dan Daly, one of the only 2 US Marines in history to receive not 1 but 2 medals of honor, took out roughly around 200 kung fu practitioners during the boxer rebellion in China by himself only using a machine gun and his bolt action rifle.

Kung Fu Panda never faced guns, they only faced magic, fighters, arrows, and cannons. When Po was split into Yin and Yang, the evil side of Po outclassed the Furious Five because he didn't hold back. I was so shocked to know that kaa was like a coward and a negative character. I watched the Russian version as a kid, and kaa there was not only a super wise mentor to Mowgli, he was also a fucking menace, he destroyed the whole army of bander logs, and I'm pretty sure no one dared to even challenge him. Not even Shere Khan
kaa from the books and its more faithful adaptations is a complete beast snakes never stop growing (tho the growing does become minimal as they age) and he is sometimes depicted as over 100 years old, extremely wise, and obviously a force to be feared as his size alone is unmatched, never forget most constrictors are almost pure muscle
I personally would probably still give it Viper due to her being a lot faster since Jake doesnt have any real speed feats, and due to the fact that he was scared of a regular hawk. I could easily see Viper just weaving arounf him, and taking him out with a single hit due to the size difference
Well for the hawk thing, it would be mainly due to the fact the hawk can swoop in suddenly, lift him off the ground and then drop him. There is little he can do at that point.

I would still give it to Viper. Not only does she know kung fu but she's fast enough to fight against people who have managed to hit & react to Po who has reacted to cannonball fire. Rattlesnake Jake on the other hand is scare of a falcon despite having a mini gun. This implies his perception speed isn't that great otherwise he would of just shot it.
A cannon ball is nowhere near as fast as a bullet, also hitting po is not a feat, he’s a fat panda that makes him a big target, also of course Jake is scared of a falcon when it’s scaled up to its actual height, that’s like me saying a hunter is scared of a lion, it’s natural instinct

Jake doesn't just have a regular gun, it's a functional Gatling gun that is attached to him, so you can't just disarm him. In addition, he is a rattlesnake, so even if he runs out of ammo, he could still use his venomous bite. Viper, on the other hand, can't do much because she doesn't have fangs, and Jake is just a larger species of snake. And let's not forget the intimidation factor of Jake.
I think her fangs did at one point eventually grow, at least for a Legends of Awesomeness episode. But yeah no, last time I checked, only Po was able to deflect cannonballs with his bare hands, and Jake isn't firing a slow moving cannonball, he's firing lots of bullets. Viper might be able to dodge Jake's gatling gun for a few moments, but she'll eventually be gunned down.
Jake and vipress are probably about the same size. Jake is just big to a gecko. Look at how big vipress is to mantis
Viper would be the only one I can think of that could survive him. She's quicker than Jake and might be able to outsmart him, but he's oddly more Terrifying to me with other characters outside Rango. Kaa would get battered by Viper, since she can knock Po clean off his feet, and he likely weighs more than Kaa. Viper is the top pick if Jake didn't have a functioning minigun. Kaa could beat Jake and Mr. Snake if Jake didn't have any ammo left. Mr. Snake could also beat Jake if he didn't have a gun because Mr. Snake is the second largest in the group. But at the end of the day, there's a reason why the saying that "guns are the great equalizer" exists.

i mean I still feel master viper has a solid chance at beating him. sure he has a machine gun but lets not forget she is both fast enough to react/dodge several fire spewing pipes on the floor and has the strength to take down pandas, leopards, or just hold a bridge up (things much greater in size to her). lastly while jake's gun is a machine gun it designed for use against small animals, while in kfp2 they were dealing with full sized canons, which do serve different tactical purposes. I feel for this fight location/use of environment can have a major impact on it
Also Jake is tiny if we go by him being just normal Rattlesnake height while Viper is big enough to wrap around Tai Lung who’s likely in the 6 ft range.
With how tiny the bullets are in Rango it may not be as effective as people think, it would probably hurt but wouldn’t be big enough to really kill.

While I like master viper I feel like she doesn't really have much of a chance we are arguing they both have snake-like reflexes and speed and honesty when it comes to kung fu vs gun fu real life history would tell you otherwise. Dan Daly, one of the only 2 US Marines in history to receive not 1 but 2 medals of honor, took out roughly around 200 kung fu practitioners during the boxer rebellion in China by himself only using a machine gun and his bolt action rifle.

@@folmhaigh039 this is a Gatling/machine gun dude, nobody is going to dodge that unless you're going at breakneck speed like Sonic or Flash. Or if you're good at reflecting them. Kung Fu Panda never faced guns, they only faced magic, fighters, arrows, and cannons. Not doubting their abilities but they won't be able to do much against something like a gun that can pierce through most things.
Not to mention in the show which is connected to the show. When Po was split into Yin and Yang, the evil side of Po outclassed the Furious Five because he didn't hold back. Also Viper's main thing is manipulating someone's body against themselves, that's why she tries to coil around their limbs or she uses her body like a whip but that can only do so much. Well for the hawk thing, it would be mainly due to the fact the hawk can swoop in suddenly, lift him off the ground and then drop him. There is little he can do at that point.
