Just bought this 2nd hand after watching this video and its really great. Still using the free 30 day peloton trial with it. Btw There is no need for a separate cadence sensor! It displays RPM on the LCD display. Cadence is *exactly* the same as RPM. As for peloton, turned my nose up at the beginner classes thinking would be too soft and gentle, best start with the advanced beginner class. Well, it nearly killed me. It was brutal. The classes are quality. So Best starting with beginners classes to learn proper form and gradually build muscle and condition yourself for the seat. It takes about 10 days, which will be the most punishing brutal days of all the spin sessions with soreness, before you can tackle advanced spin techniques and classes imo. Have no doubt, the bike is an absolutely brutal workout. I was scared after using a treadmill for 50min 10Ks it couldn't possibly compete as I never seem to get my heart rate up too far on a ordinary bike ride, but have no fear you will be drench in sweat and breathing hard after 20 mins. After 10 days it does get a lot easier and then you get hooked on the classes. I can see why people pay the 12 quid monthly peloton fee for variety and psychologically you really do look forward to them. I believe there is also a new apple version of peloton which is way cheaper around 8 quid a month. Some information for any wobbly pedals or flywheel; I bought some new bearings (pairs of 6001ZZ and 6004ZZ) for the flywheel and pedals, since it's 2nd hand just in case anyone needs to overhaul the bike these are listed online in the manual for jjl website in the exploded diagram and cost about £10 for both pairs via eBay. You can see youtube videos on how to fit bearings to bike pedals or spin bike flywheels.
@@MikesMTBAdventures agreed. The resistance % is not critical as you can only really approximately push the resistance even if you had a full peloton with calibrated resistance due to your own fitness level. You learn to use the right resistance for your body after a while being in the right rpm range as the instructor. All peloton instructor resistances are usually huge ranges from 45 to 60% or 50 to 70%. If you put on more load your cadence will drop too low. The cadence range is far more important to stick to than the resistance range.
Thanks for posting, can you still access Peloton in this way or do they restrict it to their own bikes. How did the IC300 hold up? I've seen mixed reviews of the JLL quality & looking to get the IC350 so I can get some exercise in now winters nearly with us.
Just bought one of these 2nd hand for a bargain (lockdown buy) really pleased with it. The resistance is very smooth. Used for winter training, fed up with off road mud.
Just discovered this video, fantastic advice thank you. I'm going yo purchase this for sure. You can get the ic400pro model now for similar price. Would you opt for the slightly upgraded model? Although I'm not too sure the difference appart from slightly bigger fly wheel. Many thanks Adam
Great video thanks. Have you still got that exact bike? I’m looking to purchase one soon. Was going to order an apex but that bike looks ideal? Are there any other bikes you’d recommend?

As a result though my missus is complaining that she can't reach the pedals well enough...! Have you got any advice as to how I can solve that? Obviously the seat is currently at its lowest position, but any advice much appreciated! Cheers
Got a jll ic300 pro arriving on Thursday. Bought a wahoo cadance sensor too. From what I have read the pelaton app detects it from within the app. Doing away with the need to use the bikes own sensor.

Hi Mike, do you think the ic300 would be similar to this, it’s the only one I can find available locally and was thinking surely it can’t be much different to the pro version?
@@MikesMTBAdventures wow thank you so much for the quick reply!!! Only differences I can really find is the display and the flywheel is 2kg lighter so hopefully it should still be good

They tell you on peleton buddy. Only think is, on my bike as it doesn't have a resistance gauge, it's a little guess work. If it's too easy make it harder and work out roughly where that resistance is.
@@MikesMTBAdventures Also Mike, if you don’t mind sharing. Would you recommend your particular bike in the video? Any complaints during your ownership, since the video review?
Hi Mike, how would you describe the max resistance? I want something that's going to still be a challenge after pushing myself on it consistently for multiple years Cheers
It's hard buddy. Remember this is a budget option really. The more you spend the smoother the system. I'm using a lifestyle one on the ship right now and it's awesome. Should be for £1500 though. My option is plenty good enough and doesn't disappoint for the price and need.
@@MikesMTBAdventures Fair enough, thanks for the reply. Do you think the ic400 pro is much better? I can't seem to see a difference that and the ic300 pro aside from the 2kg difference in flywheel.
