My XR ultra actually appears to have slime inside the tires from the factory, It was difficult to air up the front tire because the schraeder valve is short compared to the motor cover so a little sprayed out,
Great to see a review of new Entry Level - Budget scooters. If you're travelling 8-10 miles a day and don't mind making it at about 15mph.... GoTrax scooters are a good choice. The folding mechanism is one of the best around. The deck is very sturdy and large. Because the scooter uses m365 tires, replacement tires and tubes are cheap and plentiful. It's also a little easier to replace a tube than on an m365. Lack of a back light is a bummer. I'd recommend investing in a lighted LED vest which makes you more visible than having a simple LED thats low to the ground. Look at the reviews on the M365. A lot of people have posted reviews showing failures to the stem which completely breaks off or comes undone. I went with the Ultra for the battery and better locking mechanism.

The number 1 feature that I would like you to mention would be the carrying capacity. I'm on the heavy side and looking for a scooter rated to haul my fat ass to work.
@@prithwjeetghosh2444 how strict are these limits? Do they generally refer to weight that would prevent top speed or hurt battery life, or could a rider at 240-250 break the scooter? I keep seeing that many scooters have the same 220 limit.
I just got the XR Ultra and the coupon code was still working. But I started wondering, how do I tell I got the Ultra version and not the regular XR? It seems like there are no difference in how they look.
Hello I just want to say you have a very informative sub; this video specifically helped me to decide to get the xr ultra for my budget and as you said I can probably sell it down the road to recoup for an upgrade. I used your coupon, which the ultra ended up being under three hundred. For this price it’s better than the xiaomi and better than amazon, it’s eighty/hundred more there. 🤙🏽
Do yourself a favor, and just splurge on the ninebot max. I had the xr ultra for a month, and it was cool and all, but the battery just did NOT last. So I returned it to Amazon and exchanged it for the ninebot max, which may have been an extra $300, but the ninebot has a range of 40 MILES! (Real world range of about 30, but that still blows almost anything out of the water, unless you have 2 grand to drop on a scooter)
Yea gotrax is a terrible company. They claim to use LG batteries in the xr ultras yet inside are generic chinese. Gotrax blasts USA texas all over everything yet they do no assembly or repairs. Fully Chinese made and assembled scooters. On the Dallas Texas better business bureau gotrax has an F rating. I've been pointing this out for more than a year now on all of these shameful promotion videos. I even used this guys code to buy one because of this review and it was a big waste of time and money.
Is the Ultra durable? I read some reviews that say they - Gotrax - break after a few months and that the customer service is terrible. Can you tell me what it's really like? Could it last a year as a commuter - no rough use?
They ship out broken and not correctly assembled units. They do no assembly or repairs. Gotrax is nothing but a us warehouse for fully chinese made and assembled scooters. F rating in dallas texas better business bureau. False hardware claims and stats. They claim xr ultras have lg batteries inside yet are actually generic chinese. All of these yt videos are just promotions.
@@donl3130 you asked the question that is my experience + you can read the complaints on the better business bureau page like I mentioned. I don't think anything I said was general. It was specific and mentioned the bbb where others have 100s of the same bad experience.
@@donl3130 so here you go....general don L....no it can't last a year. #1 they ship doa units so when it arrives it's already broken. Then they want you to pay to send it back. #2 they dont use quality batteries as they advertise. They claim to use LG batteries yet inside are generic chinese. They absolutely don't last as long and are not even safe. Also...it's an Outright lie. #3 customer service has absolutely 0 product knowledge. #4 they do no assembly or repairs. Hopefully not too redundant; have you any impressions on the Ultra in different weather conditions. Winter riding, light slush/snow, water resistance ratings etc? It's the one column I keep hoping appears on the wondering comparison chart on your website.
@electricscooterguide You do great work, and it's very helpful. I'd ask you to add one more aspect to this GoTrax review; change a tire. As maintenance is a crucial aspect of a true scooter review, it's a key piece of the puzzle. You can use the full rubber or the traditional tire, and you'll find it to be nearly impossible. If you have any questions or doubts, just read the comments on the official GoTrax RUclips videos. I made the mistake of buying a GoTrax product and I'd love to have others pay a premium or find another budget model that can be maintained with some ease. Thanks for all you do.
Have you guys ever reviewed uberscoot or other brands like it. I like to tinker. And it looks to be really upgradable. Different motor sizes upgrade the battery and so on. Basically what I'm wanting to know is. If it is this versatile as far as being almost endless with options for upgrades. Is the very low price worth it? Thank you
Terminology being tricky at times like as example range.... Hill degrees In general I've rarely seen a hill marked with a degree posting. By rarely I might mean NEVER! I know the mathematical way to determine degree but by looking at a local hill I have no idea how's I get the numbers to do the math. Thus in all cases tells no me the degree gout device can handle means almost nothing. That seems risky as a potential consumer. Oh and by handle are we talking the scooter can climb on it's own and is there wiggle room if one I'd OK with significant speed reduction or that and assisting the scooter with kicks during the climb. Terminology being key.
I am a 6.4 270 pound male looking for a low budget scooter to ride with my daughter...so many scooters to choose from....I was leaning towards the swagtron 5. If this is a bad choice,,,can you point me in the right direction?
Gotrax is a terrible company with an F rating on the BBB. Fully Chinese made and assembled. They do no assembly or repairs yet blast USA texas all over. You could buy one but will get nowhere near the performance mentioned. For two reasons #1 as pointed out max weight on these is around 200lbs. #2 they claim to use LG batteries yet inside are generic chinese. So the extra weight will take down your speed and distance. You would need to buy something with strong suspension and way better hardware to perform anywhere near the specs. But that would easily put you in the $1000++ range. So back to you could buy one but it wont perform well. It's also pretty small.
Bought the Ultra as my 1st scooter. As an adult in my late 40's I was looking for something that was easy on my bad knees and back. I originally thought of an ebike or skateboard. Pricing would lead me to scooters as they were the least expensive with the specs I wanted. Finally after some consideration between the ultra and one other brand I took the Ultra because of the locking mechanism and the LG battery. I found it to be a very fun experience. At 200lbs I can easily get 10+ miles taking in consideration terrain and riding style. I found a constant 10mph making as few stops as possible gets the best performance from the battery. Some things I would like to see changed are. 1. Needs a rear light 2. Needs a carry handle or strap for stem 3. Should lock at the neck when folded. 4. Brake cable should have metal guides to the rear disk brake. 5. Charge brick should rest flat on the floor and still reach charger port which it cannot. 6. A dedicated locking port for cables and ulocks. Overall you can't go wrong with the Ultra for less than 400. Buy it.

Tan Nguyen I think at that speed you do need a suspension which calls for higher price. For my budget I think I’m going with the ultra. I saw that You got the twow, what made you go with that over the zero lineup?
The cruise control problem is just lax, all it takes is a beep from the panel to indicate that it is on, even chinese clones of the xiaomi m365 have this at £269!! So sorry but no excuse, same for the rear light
owned a v2 for almost a year the company has no customer service so your on your own if anything goes wrong(if you want to get your scooter repaired it will most likely break outside of warranty and they charge like $70 shipping so its better to just toss out a whole section of the scooter and get a new part) buy replacement parts ahead of time because they dont make the old scooters or parts anymore(also you will need like $50 in tools to repair anything and i mean anything) after owning the v2 i can say the scooter performs well but the company is shit buy one expect it to break in a year or less then buy a new scooter these things dont last years sometimes only a couple months from what ive read in my case i thought my battery was dead but it was actually the controller that was acting up i got a soldering kit to fix it and it worked for a week on and off with random power cuts then i learned the new xr ultra is just the v2 frame with new motor and battery i assume the new controller is the same fit and model so i will try that and get back to you

Do not buy gotrax. If you have any problem, they take no responsibility for their failures. Mine was brand new and had an error code. They would not ship parts, but wanted the entire scooter returned and implied if they could fix it it would be at a minimal charge. They would not send packaging and said any damage in shipping was my responsibility. Terrible customer service.

This was shot in emeryville/Albany/ Berkeley areas Nice!
The number 1 feature that I would like you to mention would be the carrying capacity. I'm on the heavy side and looking for a scooter rated to haul my fat ass to work.
220 lb
@@prithwjeetghosh2444 how strict are these limits? Do they generally refer to weight that would prevent top speed or hurt battery life, or could a rider at 240-250 break the scooter? I keep seeing that many scooters have the same 220 limit.
@@JohnMRaggio I'm not sure, but I think that they have scooters rated for higher weights on the website.
Have you ever reviewed the Pioneer hover 1 its basically the same gotrax ultra
I just got the XR Ultra and the coupon code was still working. But I started wondering, how do I tell I got the Ultra version and not the regular XR? It seems like there are no difference in how they look.
Need to see videos on battery change
Thanks for the tip! -Vosk
Do you have to have a DL to use one of these?
When are you gonna review the hiboy max brother??
Best vid ever
Thx :-)
KUGOO KIRIN S1. Best scooter on sale right now
Hello I just want to say you have a very informative sub; this video specifically helped me to decide to get the xr ultra for my budget and as you said I can probably sell it down the road to recoup for an upgrade. I used your coupon, which the ultra ended up being under three hundred. For this price it’s better than the xiaomi and better than amazon, it’s eighty/hundred more there. 🤙🏽
You said you maxed out the speed at 14.6 but I'm seeing 15.5 displayed on the speedometer many times throughout the vid. Just a heads up.
thanks for your insights!
Happy to help! -Paul
Is this better than the Xaomi M365?
I have a GXL, a V2 and the Ultra no issues with any of them.
Im look for a budget e scooter for commuting, which would u recommend for me?
Where's the link for the recommended slime?
hello how would you compare these to the new GoTrax elite
I used your coupon code to get $50 off a GoTrax Elite. Thank you!!!
Mine won't switch gears for some reason...
What’s the weight capacity on the ultra
Is the Ultra durable? I read some reviews that say they - Gotrax - break after a few months and that the customer service is terrible.
Can you tell me what it's really like? Could it last a year as a commuter - no rough use?
They ship out broken and not correctly assembled units. They do no assembly or repairs. Gotrax is nothing but a us warehouse for fully chinese made and assembled scooters. F rating in dallas texas better business bureau. False hardware claims and stats. They claim xr ultras have lg batteries inside yet are actually generic chinese. All of these yt videos are just promotions.
@@AMoneyVideo You generalize much...
@@donl3130 you asked the question that is my experience + you can read the complaints on the better business bureau page like I mentioned. I don't think anything I said was general. It was specific and mentioned the bbb where others have 100s of the same bad experience.
I spent 7 months dealing with this company. I've been commenting on every video they are promoted in since. F gotrax.
(So how will yours be fixed if you have a problem?) #5 they just give you the run around in email only contacts untill any guarantee period expires. Lol....so go ahead an buy that man.
The coupon code won’t work
Thank you for the good video.😎👍😍
Is the xr discontinued?
I believe so
Bit unrelated but what is thre background music? It's so soothing 😅
What about the city rider from fluid free rides? It goes 18 mph at around same price. I would say check that one out as well to anyone who sees this 👍
thats a beautiful video
Thanks for the kind words & for watching!

Thank you
omg wow... whatta a great thought
Is it a hybrid of m365 and es2?
Just bought my first e scooter, Gotrax Xr. Thanks
I am a 6.4 270 pound male looking for a low budget scooter to ride with my daughter...so many scooters to choose from....I was leaning towards the swagtron 5.
If this is a bad choice,,,can you point me in the right direction?
Chris Gilmor I 6.2 250 pounds but all these scooters on the market are made for small guys at 200lbs or less
@@ruskibruski FYI 200lbs isnt a small guy lol. 200+lbs is an xl guy.
When does the coupon expire? Thanks!
Would you recommend the XR or the GXL V2?
they dont sell v2 anymore xr is just rebrand with better motor and battery
can you review the mercane mx60? Literally there is no English info from this scooter, regards
Can the cruise control be turn off?
I don't believe it can be which is a bit of a negative imo
Monte Dizon just quickly press the throttle and release
Would this be safe enough for my 9yr old son to use. Im afraid that the cruise control stay on and my son will panic 😂
1. Needs a rear light
2. Needs a carry handle or strap for stem
Buy it.
Hello I’m new to the scooter life and I’m trying to find something that would be great for a commuting to work I live in the desert so there’s a lot of dirt road and I’m like some thing a little fast and not slow if you have a Facebook or Instagram that I can contact you from that would be great I would like to hear your opinion I need your advice for sure I would definitely appreciate it there’s a scooter that I’m looking at that’s on Amazon but I’m kind of iffy on it because there’s only one review and it shows five stars all across please let me know how I can contact you friend
Great job .not a bad scoot.
there's a typo in the video - you misspelled safety features as "saftey"
Get a life 😂
When is the Xr Elite coming out?
whats the difference
coupon did not work
I ordered from gotrax and used the discount but how long did it take for you to get yours?
I got mine within 4 business days, however, for some reasons UPS didn't have my apt number so it was delayed another day. Not GoTrax's fault because they recorded my address correctly.
3 reviews review. Definitely need more speed, at least 20mph and also need suspension like the kugoo or etwow.
So sorry but no excuse, same for the rear light
owned a v2 for almost a year the company has no customer service so your on your own if anything goes wrong(if you want to get your scooter repaired it will most likely break outside of warranty and they charge like $70 shipping so its better to just toss out a whole section of the scooter and get a new part) buy replacement parts ahead of time because they dont make the old scooters or parts anymore(also you will need like $50 in tools to repair anything and i mean anything) after owning the v2 i can say the scooter performs well but the company is shit buy one expect it to break in a year or less then buy a new scooter these things dont last years sometimes only a couple months from what ive read in my case i thought my battery was dead but it was actually the controller that was acting up i got a soldering kit to fix it and it worked for a week on and off with random power cuts then i learned the new xr ultra is just the v2 frame with new motor and battery i assume the new controller is the same fit and model so i will try that and get back to you
DO NOT BUY FROM GOTRAX! IVE HAD MY GOTRAX XR FOR JUST OVER 30 DAYS AND IT JUST STOPPED WORKING! SAVE YOUR MONEY AND BUY FROM ELSEWHERE. DO YOUR RESEARCH SERIOUSLY.
Hi John,
Thanks for the feedback. We've been hearing some other things, which are not the best, about their customer service lately. I reached out to them to talk about it, and..... didn't hear back :-( -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide thank you for responding. They are horrible and have blocked me on almost all platforms. If you can help expose their deficiencies via you channel. They are horrible. Absolutely horrible.
Bought one. Very unhappy with battery length. I weigh 175-180lbs and I wouldn't dare drive miles away I get half going about 2 miles at 15. If you think you're going to do the 9mph and save battery, that's very slow. You might as well just buy a skate board for $90. I can't return it cause I tossed the box
Do not buy from gotrax, I recieved my scooter about a week ago and the box was destroyed and the scooter was scuffed and scratched. Also no Allen key or valve stem adapter. Tried emailing customer service to return scooter and they keep giving me the run around. Beware of 30 day money back guarantee. Its not a real thing. You can buy a better one for the money with better support
yeah im getting the run around too
Gotrax has an F rating on the Dallas Texas better business bureau. They do no assembly or repairs. Fully Chinese made and assembled scooters. Customer service has 0 product knowledge. Hardware claims are false. (Not actually lg batteries inside)
Thank you
Should the fact that you guys dont review ninebot scooters be a warning?
They did.
Or the fact gotrax has an F rating on the Dallas Texas better business bureau. They are nothing but a us warehouse for fully Chinese made and built scooters. gotrax does no assembly or repairs themselves. They claim to use LG batteries inside some of their units yet inside are generic Chinese. The fact they are promoting this trash should be the warning on what you are actually watching here. Shameful promotion nothing more.
Fuckin great reviews mate!!
What's the filming location for this one?
