*Works great: **Fastly.Cool** and Warming environment perfectly controlled. I use 3 in different grow tents. It’s nice to see from your phone how your tent temps are. Does High and Low and records data.*
When I first installed mine years ago, this is the tutorial I used. I recently had to reinstall it and this really is the best, simplest, straight-to-the-point tutorial for this thermostat model. Easy to understand and quick for someone like me who doesn’t have the time or patience for a 30-min video. Thanks so much!
I have had this thing put up for the longest and decided today it’s time to put it up so I saw this video just now and I’m gonna install it today.Thumbs up 100%
Quick tip: In order to get the thermostat to start WiFi Setup (if it doesn't start automatically or if you're reinstalling the thermostat), press and hold the second button from the left and the UP button at the same time. It should start Wi-Fi Setup after a few seconds. Make sure you already have the Honeywell thermostat app (Total Connect Comfort) installed, open the WiFi settings on your phone and choose the NewThermostatxxx WiFi source. Then open the Honeywell app and follow the instructions.
I’ve been using this little hygrometer for about a week now ruclips.net/user/postUgkxcr5WULFU6yC9UUKc_cdNJT9jGa6VxO1l and I’m loving it, got it for a ball python so I can track her temps accurately while she battles a RI, so temps and humidity need to be accurate. I love how it’s Bluetooth no matter where I am in the house, I plan on buying more for my other snakes when I can, I highly recommend this! It’s so easy to check it without disturbing her and stressing her out. Only complaint is it’s in military time but otherwise not horrible
I don't know who did this with my old thermostat. But it is a battery-operated one and the blue wire is connected. Whether or not its actually connected to the furnace is another question altogether. I need to go pull the cover on mine to see if it is connected. But now I have this new thermostat and I will make sure it is connected properly. Unlike the dummies that installed the old one.
Would my system would be "other" when it comes to determining my heating/cooling type. I have a dual fuel system but I do not see it in the instructions but I wanted to double check.
Buyer beware, Honeywell thermostats keep your house within 1 degree temperature, they don't advertise it in any way I have found, that causes your heater and ac to cycle a lot, when it turns on, not only does it use more energy then when it's already running, it puts much more wear on your pump and motor, I had to talk to one of their techs to find this out! In the long run you pay a lot more in bills! All these people spending all this time to find out it's factory like that. I loved it other than that!
thanks for the video, I have the L8148E, and I want to change my thermostat for the RTH6580WF. I only use the heat and my old thermostat works with two wires. where you should connect the wires for the other thermostat. Thanks
I did exactly what you did, but my system is blowing out hot air when it’s on cool. I can’t imagine what’s wrong, it looks exactly the same way yours do 🤷🏾♀️ 🤦🏾♀️ 😢
I have RH, RC wires in the old thermostat. So is my RC wire same as the C wire and I am guessing I dont have to do any special just plug the wires back into the new thermostat?
You have to go to ur furnace and see what it is all used not all wires are needed for every thermostat...I have orange and blue 1 that's not needed for this 1 but was on my other

Quite possibly the best instructional You Tube video ever made! Thank you.
Wow, thanks!
Thank you so much for making this video. It solved all of our installation issues with the darn “C” wire
Glad it helped
Thank you! You saved me a ton of time trying to figure out the manual.

Thank you friend. You did a great job explaining

Excellent Video.. I hooked mine up real easy, thank you.
Thank you, sir! I appreciate your efforts in making this video. I am not savvy with this kind of stuff. It's quite intimidating.
great video. can you show or tell us what to do if it goes blank after installation?
Just what I was looking for. I have the unused blue wire in my system. Thanks.
Thanks for the info, now I'm ready.
I have to have the black and blue in C in order for my AC to work is that right?
What do you do when the peach wire was on ob screw on original thermostat ??
Does this thermostat have (AUX 1+2) control meaning multistage controller?
Would my system would be "other" when it comes to determining my heating/cooling type. I have a dual fuel system but I do not see it in the instructions but I wanted to double check.
Thank you, great video.
This thermostat is great

The ‘C’ stands for Cyan (blue). As in CMYK cyan, magenta, yellow & black
Great instructions
Good video fr
Thanks 💯

Excellent, well explained!
Nicely done... thanks
Thank you so much for your sharing !

Having that issue now
Very nice informative video. Appreciate you sir
Thank you so much for your videos, it was helpful and to the point! 😊👍
Hi, I just installed mine and did everything correctly. But it will not turn on. Could it be that the C wire may not function?
It’s probably the C wire; this part is very important
Same issues. Do I need to connect the c wire adapter or no??
I only have 4 wires. No blue “C” wire. May not be compatible as the instructions state to make sure it’s connected.
Thanks this helped a lot
Great video, thanks.
I am the 1000th like!
Thanks
I have RH, RC wires in the old thermostat. So is my RC wire same as the C wire and I am guessing I dont have to do any special just plug the wires back into the new thermostat?
No, the RC wire is not the same as the C wire.
@@jimbendtsen8841 Thank you for letting me know.
It comes wit a jumper cable for the rh and rc looks like a staple in it...which color is it off the wall...
Look at ur furnace and it will tell you what color is ur c...
@@Swag_gaming304 I haven't looked at it for a while. But thanks for the info. I'll use it next time I look at the wiring.
Even a home maintenance idiot like me can do this when explained this simply.
Thanks for watching
The wires are connected, but when I put it together I don't get anything on the screen. Any tips?
``
Same thing for me. Did you connect a c wire adapter ?
What if your furnace isn't on the circuit breaker?
Where is it
does this model have the option of using batteries to power it up as well.
No, I looked this thing over.. you must have a "C" wire for it to even turn on.. and honstly for me. Its been a royal pain..
No.
Where is your second video on how to connect it to your cell phone?
Any idea where the blue wire goes it’s not a c wire in my old system
You have to look at the furnace where the wires start to find out where they match up in the thermostat.
Wifi?? Did you install the WiFi features with this thermostat? (That's where I'm stuck at)
I followed the steps and the thermostat doesn’t turn on but the heater kicks in
what about a brown wire i can not figure it out!
You have to go to ur furnace and see what it is all used not all wires are needed for every thermostat...I have orange and blue 1 that's not needed for this 1 but was on my other
Dumb question, but why is it necessary to turn off the power? These wires look very low-voltage.
Reason is to avoid accidentally touching wires together which could cause damage to heat and / or AC electronics.
Mine has a orange wire. Where does it go?
You have to look at the furnace where the wires start to find out where they match up in the thermostat.
i was hoping i could jus replace the face of the thermostat 😂😂😂😂
I'm having issues as I don't have a blue wire 🤦♀️ I had a grey shoved into wall and I have a black wire.. but I don't know which is which.. anyone ??
You have to look at the furnace where the wires start to find out where they match up in the thermostat.
how to connect to google home? is it compatible?
Hold on
👍💯
The screen never came on for me
The only wires I have at the thermostat are red, white, yellow and green and a jumper. Do I need to keep the jumper? At the furnace there’s a C wire.
You have to look at the furnace where the wires start to find out where they match up in the thermostat. Yes, you need to keep the jumper.
