  • Come see what lurks in the shadows and darkness at night in my own backyard on a rainy cool night in April of 2023. It’s amazing to see who is roaming through my yard while I am comfortably sleeping in my warm and cozy bed.

Hey Phil, Good to hear from you. I been so busy trying to prepare for my eventual retirement. Home modifications replacing and updating my home. Really good to know your still out there in virtual land. I cut back on Facebook too.

@@SaltyheadAdventures We did some remodeling after retirement. We did by ourselves a couple rooms down to drywall and subfloor and then back to complete. Just this week are a few hours away from having the contractors complete our kitchen. Adn today I just bought a new water heater. For a while it was tough, no counters, no cabinets, no sink, But it is literally hours from complete.
I never considered myself rich, but being able to spend money like this without having worked in 3 years is great.
Garden has started for the spring. Our blueberries not doing good this spring, but blackberries, grapes, apple, aroinia and plum seem good. I continue to get mistaken as homeless while I walk my dog around town. He's big, so I bring water in a pack. And since I'm carrying a pack some think oh, old homeless guy. I have to tell them the mortgage is paid, the truck, the boat, all paid off, I'm just out for exercise. We are on a pace for over a thousand miles this year. I'm hoping to get back to a weight where I can donate my used body to a medical school.
So I'm enjoying my second childhood, playing in dirt and walking around with my dog.
I was with my wife in Barnstable a few weeks ago. Getting some beach stones on Sandy Neck. It was the day Momma and Baby right whale were in the canal.
      How's family?
Hurry up and retire. You deserve it.

I live in W Yarmouth also and had that same noise outside of my window one night 2 years ago. I always assumed it was fisher cats.

Awesome video. I'm wondering if what you mentioned might be a fisher cat is really an opossum. The tail, which can be seen at approximately 7:19, looks like an opossum tail rather than the bushy tail of a fisher cat.

Yes, it was an opossum and not a fisher cat. Thanks for the correction

Hi Salty - new fan here! What was it that they were eating? Fish? Eggs? Chicken? Something gross?
