Absolutely fantastic review!! As a daily 35ZA user, I believe my choice to pre order and “upgrade” was the right one lol! Only pain is selling the ZA 😅 I cannot wait for these to ship! You’ve got a new sub here. Cheers from SF 🌁
@@TheGSummit I pre ordered day one of its release with Amazon... every month I get a message that says it will be delayed again until the end of the month... 😔 It’s now April and I did not get another notification so maybe it’ll actually ship at the end of this month?? IDK... good luck! 🙌🏽
Hi gareth, always watch your reviews, always informative and upbeat, i like your presentation style 👌 I have a quick video question regarding my a9. I shoot fast action of dogs mainly with the 135 gm and i want to start filming this. What settings in camera would you likely choose to ensure you nail good focus on the face when the dog is sprinting straight at you or slightly off at an angle? I have no clue about video settings & its as though the real time tracking couldn't keep up. Google and youtube searches are finding it difficult to get my answer for a total vid newbie lol. Any particular focus mode etc you would use?? Thanks
Thanks so much, that sounds like a pretty cool setup you have there. I would probably set it to the wide focus setting and let the camera focus, that's probably going to be the simplest way. With the a9 you could try shooting at a higher frame rate as well to get some slow motion, that would probably look great if the dog is sprinting :-)
@@parkcameras thank you for this response! Im guessing the wide filming will automatically lock onto the eye/face of the dog then track it as it's running? Yes slow motion is one of the things i want to also nail. Slow motion of the dogs jumping over logs in forests etc. I'll try this, thank you
For me personally, I'd probably get more use out of the 35mm but I don't tend to shoot much wider than 35mm anyway. That 24mm f/1.4 is a lovely lens though, what sort of stuff are you shooting?
@@parkcameras Thanks for the feedback! I mostly shoot portraits and landscape. My idea was to buy the Sigma 14-24 f2.8 with the Sony 35mm f1.4 and sell the 24mm 1.4. But I do love the 24 and it’s always with me. I also have a sigma 24-70 and I’ve realised I rarely shoot at 50mm. I’m either at 24-35mm or 60-70mm, for both portraits and landscape.
Now that we have tons of option for a 35mm on the E mount witch one would you suggest? Is it worth it to get this instead of the 1.8? or maybe even consider the new sigma 35mm f2 dg dn...
That's a really great question. This is my favourite one that I've used for sure but, it depends a bit on price as well. The f/1.8 model is actually really nice and a much more affordable option. If price is no option then the new GM model is the one I'd go for. I haven't tried the Sigma 35mm f/2 but I'd be really interested to see what it's like :-)
That's a great question! I think I would personally go for the 35mm GM because I love the focal length, I love the f/1.4 aperture and I don't shoot wide too often :-)
Compared to the Batis 40/2 for a street / travel option? Which is more versatile?
What do you guys think? Are you excited for a 35mm G Master lens? Let me know your thoughts down here in the comments 📷
I have the Olympus M.Zuiko 17mm f1.2, should I change system ?

Looks like an awesome lens. I have the 24mm 1.4. Would you keep the 24 or swap it for the 35, or keep both?

@Draven Zachariah thank you, I went there and it seems to work =) Appreciate it!!
@Salvatore Colson happy to help :)
The GM35 is distinctly better than the Zeiss.. I hope soon they make GM50.
Oh yeah, that would be awesome :-)
Sony 35mm GM or 16-35mm GM?

I recognize you, just for your voice😁😁
Haha, that's really cool :-)
You're using the lens hood wrong... just saying.
You're 100% right haha 🤣
