guys this video was uploaded before the SNES classic edition so stop saying "why not use the controller bundled with the SNES classic edition"
Hey Jletsplays this is an AWESOME video. Audio and video were clear, your explanations concise, and you showed all steps. Great job! So many other tutorial videos fall short because although it's easy to record and post a video to youtube, it takes a lot of effort and planning to make a video worth watching. Nice work.
Can you use this controller to play the red-boxed "New Super Mario Bros for Wii" or is it just for the classic arcade games that allow using the "classic controller"?
From my knowledge if it says you can use a classic controller you should be able to. I am not sure how well it will work. I made these in mind for the virtual game consoles.
Really cool mod! Feels like something Nintendo would do themselves. Wouldn't that be something?
You can actually use the SNES Classic controller they made and it does the same thing. Also cheaper
Excellent video! Just completed mod successfully. Thanks again
Besides the fact there are the snes Classic pads out now for your wii / Wii U , this looks like more work then it needs to be to accomplish this
This was before the SNES Classic edition released
No need for that anymore Snes Classic Edition controllers are coming
The snes controller looks much better tho
This is a great Video
Does this adapter work with
Wii U Mario Kart 8
had problems with an adapter on this particular game
it's these kinds of vids that makes people sub to your pages bro! 😁good job
Raphnet is alright, I've bought a couple products off him.
I love the mod was useful before the SNES classic controllers were released
1st,through japan in Club Nintendo ,there is a remake of the famicom controller that connects to the bottom of the Wii remote,2nd the SNES classic is out in my time so,no need for messing up my valuable SNES controller
Retronatic Arcadiac you realize this video is 7 years old, right?
Yes and you do realize with the NES classic controller can also work on the Wii remote,if only they made a N64 classic with the controllers
@@gamefanmike322 ok your broken english makes it hard to understand what you are trying to say so let's go bit by bit
"Yes and you do realize with the NES classic controller can also work on the Wii remote"
yeah, i do, but the nes classic was launched in 2016
"if only they made a N64 classic with the controllers"
errm, i think you are saying that you want nintendo to make a n64 classic and make the controller use the wii connection? that's my best guess
Can you please do a video of how to mod a Sega Dream cast controller on a Wii remote plus
:-)
You mean Wiimotion Plus? Because I don't know what a Wii Remote Plus is.
Alternatively, you could buy a SNES extension cable and wire that up to the Wii controller, that way you'd still be able to use the SNES controller on a normal Super NIntendo, and just plug the controller into the adapter itself whenever you wanted to use it on the Wii.
It's amazing mate, great job
Hey! It's the Joshow Show in reality! Also, it's not a WiiU remote Plus, it's a Wiimote. There is to WiiU remote plus. Sorry to crush your dreams.
Es fantástico!! Seria bueno uno con un control de PS2
eso es lo que estoy haciendo usando un controlador clásico, estoy haciendo las conexiones de la placa y si todo va bien tendré un controlador clásico que se parece al control de ps2
By the way, I'm a big fan.
+ToeSnub Always a pleasure meeting one!
I'm a medium sized air conditioner.
I'm a vent
Can you upload more videos?
These are amazing!
Maybe How to mod your Sega Saturn 6 Button Controller to Wii (U) remote?
Soon! Soon...
Can you do a Gamecube to Wii (u) tutorial? I know there are things that let you do that, but they cost SO much.
+ToeSnub I think the gamecube controller would only work if it was through the gamecube port only. For the Wii strictly speaking. I am not sure. I could do one if it worked on the Wii U. Unfortunately I don't have a Wii U.
+W³Electronics someone else made one
W³Electronics Ok thanks btw I'm a big fan of your channel!
I saw he makes snes to GameCube and snes to wiimote adapter can i use this or your method for homebrew snes emulator? Please let me know and thank you for this info you the man. Lmk il like and subscribe
I saw this exact same thing online in a website where you can buy, at least that way you won't gut a SNES controller.
That's an SNES classic controller.
Can you mod an Atari or Genesis controller to the Wii as well?
I would love to see that as well
Hi, do you now make a adapter for controller snes classic mini for snes original of 1992 ?
Unfortunately I do not
Awsome boss thanks. Are you positive this will work with homebrew emulators?
It should function as a normal classic controller or classic controller pro
Nice video. I like mods like this.
The new SNES Classic is coming out with a controller that can be plugged into the bottom of a Wii remote. (The new adapter.) You won't have to do this.
Que arte y gran forma de darle en la madre a un control de la SNES
Or U can use the SNES classic controller.
If you're lucky enough to find one. I got one though, so I don't have to dig up my SNES controllers
I have it too!
Lol yep
Yep sure wait 4 years for it mmmhhmmmmm yep
You do know it didn't exist when he created this video? Wii u era. Dumb ass
you should make a tutorial on how to make the snes controller wireless
Is it possible to make the dpad act as the left joystick? A few games I plan on playing use the left joystick for main controls and would be unplayable without it.
Now Using SNES Classic Edition Controller to Wii (U)
I love how this is completely irrelevant now. However, it's still an interesting video.
Thanks!
Do the shoulder buttons work on the pad? IE will all six buttons respond during SNES games?
I'd love to see this with a Sega Genesis controller.
parabéns pelo video me ajudou bastante legal de mais esse vídeo
you should do this with the NES controler!
ruclips.net/video/wycESqHdH3Y/видео.html
you're welcome.
Now we can use snes controller on wii/wii u with the snes mini's controller.
I wanna play Smash Bros. Brawl with that controller (Classic Edition, not Original) if I don’t have a GameCube Controller
Hey man great work I recently tried this with my n64 controller and I got to the part with the clock wire from the nunchuck and both the knunchucks I had had no reference next to the wires and had different color wires. Please help
Try to single it out, there is going to be a V+ wire, and a ground wire, so you can cross those out as the culprits. Also if you got up to the part with the Clock wire, how did you determine the data wire? Also are the color of the wires the same? maybe you could use that as reference. It is very difficult to troubleshoot from here but I will help with what I can.
I kind of just guessed for the data and clock wires from the nunchuck there were only 4 wires instead of five. And the black wire I guessed must be the ground the red must be v+ and then I was left with a green and a yellow. So i guessed yellow was clock and green was data and put those on the designated spots put both ground on the negative spot buuut I only had 2 wires for the positive. I had no brown wire.
Btw I am doing it on N64 controller not snes
Also if you could let me know what nunchuck you are using in particular it might be easiest to just buy one and follow your video.
I just bought a random $3 black nunchuk to match the original black wire off of eBay
So does this for sure work on WiiU virtual console games?
can this be used for wii u virtual console games?
like the VC games that aren't in wii mode.
Will this work with the NES Classic Mini? System can be modded to play SNES games, but needs a controller with more buttons.
Just get an SNES classic controller. *Plug in*
Hi, can you can you make a vid to convert a snes controller to gamecube, great mod by the way
They have converters. You don't have to do any actual mods. Just search around.
Do A Gamecube Controller
Nice :D but i never had a snes :(
If possible, it's probably better to do this with a third-party SNES controller like a Cirka or something rather than gutting a real SNES controller... it's not as if more of them are being made, and there's a high probability of ruining everything if you're not skilled at soldering. Then you don't have an SNES controller or a nunchuck. Just a mess of solder and broken circuit boards with useless hunks of plastic.
I have no idea. It should be the same in principle. You could always use a female connector from eBay and wire it up to the chip to the Wii male connector so you don't have to do anything to the original controller =)
that's awesome!!! where can I get that chip?
+F F E I I I I I I I I Check the video's Description!
DID HE JUST PRE MAKE THE SNES CLASSIC EDITION CONTROLLER AWESOME!!!!!!1!!!!!!!!111!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
can you please make a video with the Nintendo 64 controller mod to the wii
Soon...
How to mod your N64 controller to Wii remote (Plus)
you're welcome.
This isn't entirely related to the controller mod, but to 3rd party nunchucks in emulation. I use priiloader, and the screen just goes berzerk like I'm pressing all of the buttons and the stick is rotating. The only environment that doesn't happen in is the stock wii boot, and wii games. I also have a pair of 3rd party classic controllers that do the same as soon as they are plugged in.
Is there any way to fix this? Or will I need to fork out a load to get the official gear?
I'm not sure what you mean by "This isn't entirely related to the controller mod, but to 3rd party nunchucks in emulation."
As far as priiloader, I have not used. I have however used Homebrew and the controllers work fine. The problem you describe with the 3rd party controllers is foreign to me. I am sorry I don't think I can be of much help.
Jonathan Clark dude....shit. i was so excited to save a ton by buying 3rdparty classic controller. But everyone else and you say once you plug it in the wii freezes and freaks out. That sucks i wanted it for homebrew emulators. Have you found a solution? Used classic controller are atleast 20. I have 3rdparty GameCube controller il let you know if they work. Glad i read all these before i bought em
asombroso
Do you think those wire colors are consistent?
Chris Po No, but the labels on the board should be.
Does this work with homebrew emulators?
+jeremy van hise Yes.
its good
Is there any way I can order this directly from the internet?
What is this how With he stripp the whires?
where can i get that chip thing you had in the video
The website in the description
Can you use the snes controllers to play actual Wii games? Or only emulator games?
Kavya BOTH!
Is there the same for sega genesis ?
why would you do all this trouble for using a snes controller on the wii while you can just buy one from ebay with the connector already on it
You just get a snes mini controller. plug it in. good to go ...
I've been curious to see if it would work. Does it?
Hey, is it possible to do the same thing with a N64 controller?
Yes, watch my other video 😊
That chip where can i find it
Say would this work with the snes classic (I lost one of my controller ;-;)
I am not sure. I don't think so.
What circuit need?
Would this work for wii titles such as super smash bros brawl???
I don't think so I think you have to use the N64 controller.
The GCN controller will be fine.
is there a place i canbuy one of these controllers instead of making one?
+Ryanator 193 I think so, but I cant seem to get the link to it.
old version work?
Now mod a Wii controller to Wii controller!
What will be the point of that?
please reply this
where can i get that chip?
You get the chip at Raphnet. Just google it. The chip is around 12USD. You can buy an adapter on ebay for about the same amount by Mayflash! I already have one, I just ordered my second one a few days ago. Check this one out: www.ebay.com/itm/USA-New-Nintendo-Wii-Wii-U-Mayflash-NES-SNES-Controller-Adapter-for-Classic-/291510926765?hash=item43df67bdad:g:L-kAAOSw~OdVbtEq
dUDE, YOU MUST WORK WITH NINTENDO! SERIOUSLY
........
NOPE YOU NOOB
sup tav
Stevemmaahd so full of hatred, we were all noobs at one point
If he modifies the controller and he worked at Nintendo, he would be fired!!!
That looks like the snes classic edition controller
Can you give me the name of the chip you used?
All the information is in the description of the video. You can find all the information you need there.
Why does his Wii Remote has red lights instead of blue ones?
Because I changed them
How his lights of his wii remote is red🤔🤔
works on wii, wii remote???
Have you tested it on any homebrew emulators?
Yes I have =) it works fine
W3Electronics promise bro? Lol I don't wana buy all this for nothing lol. I trust ya man. I really want this for homebrew emulator. Screw Nintendo and they're mini classic systems that they make 20 of so assholes can charge triple on eBay haha
ShoneNintendo64 have i tried on homebrew emulator yet by chance that's why I want one too
Ok so I'm having a problem where if I plug in the snes controller to the wii remote while its on, the pointer freezes and snes controller doesn't do anything
when I plug it in while its off, and try to connect to the wii, it will blink to connect, but won't. Sometimes the last blink will be the player 1 light as if it was connected and then immediately disconnected
when I unplug it, everything fixes itsself
please help
I never had these issues. That's very strange. Check for solder bridges between connections! When you connect it while on the main screen does moving the D-pad on the SNES do anything?
nothing on the snes controller does anything on any software when it is plugged in. I'm wondering if it could be a firmware issue with the chip because I know it comes in different firmwares. I think the one I have is like 1.7.9 or something. I did check, like, 3 times for solder bridges and couldn't find any and I did desolder and resolder anything that was close to a solder bridge.
another issue (and most likely the problem) is I am using the cable from the official nintendo nunchuck and it has different color cables, however, I found a broken $3 ebay one I had and it had the same color cables as the official one. So naturally I used that for reference. There might be an error in that.
DailyAverageGamer I think you should use what the wire does, not what color it is. The colors may differ from 3rd party products from originals. for example my data cable could be blue while your cable is brown. Try figuring out which is which. Look at the connector for clues. For example in the schematic I have in the video the date cable is blue and it is coming from the top left corner if you're holding the nunchuk connector like it is depicted. If you use a multimeter to do a continuity test, you can find which wire is connected to that pin. Once you do, you have figured out which is the data cable and viola! you can use the same method for the other cables.
ok, so I opened up the wiimote connector and there were errors in my color matchup, I have resoldered it correctly this time and the problem is gone, but a new one shows up.
When plugged in, it will act as a classic controller, but the ABXY buttons dont do anything and it is as if the down button on the Dpad is always pushed
BTW, thanks so much for helping me this much
DailyAverageGamer There is only so much troubleshooting I can do from here. I say you check your work, use the continuity test, and check for solder bridges.
Now You Don't Have To Do that No more Just buy a snes classic edition/mini controller 2017 c
Please someone can look for some link on ebay of this product is that I do not speak English and I do not know how to look for a translator. gracias
Which product?
Wiimote circuit
Would this work with Brawl?
Probably not considering the taunts would map to the dpad. Meaning you wouldn't be able to move as there is no thumbstick on the snes controller.
An additional way is to get github.com/Maschell/hid_to_vpad with your homebrew wii u. I used a tomee USB converter with an original SNES controller. You have to configure the .ini file in order for the buttons to function correctly (also find the Vendor ID *vid* and Product ID *pid* with the help of this tool www.uwe-sieber.de/usbtreeview_e.html#download *usbtreeview*). There is a tutorial how to do it github.com/Maschell/controller_patcher/wiki.
Here is the .ini file I tried with the tomee SNES usb. Though, + - and L/R triggers don't work properly, not quite sure how to get them running. D-pad and the y,b,x,a work though... www.mediafire.com/file/5rhravv2t9mltx2/Tomee_SNES_PC_Game_Pad.ini/file
On an additional note, if you want to play with some other controller aswell, (like ps3/4, xbox or mouse and keyboard) you can with this as they are prepackaged and you don't have to worry about the .ini stuff.
Good way to spend like $1 on a cheap off-brand Nunchuk and not pay $80 for an snes classic!
sure? no lag?
Almir Canella According to the specifications from Raphnet there is a latency of 3milliseconds which is .003 Seconds. Sure there is a lag. It's very short.
Has anyone tried this with a genesis controller?
I Know just plug a snes classic controller into the Wii remote
Do you live?
Very much so
Is this legal?
Yes. Console modding is 100% legal.
Can you make it pink ?
That's what she said.
Yeeeeeafff
Hermelinda De La Rosa yassssssss
WTF 30 DOLLARS FOR AN ADAPTER LMAO
Useless since u can just use a snes mini controller lol
o pero que aburrido
The SNES Classic Edition has made this video obsolete.
this is now useless
You just runined you snes controller
Still works
Has anyone tried this with a genesis controller?
