I really loved the Sorni Nai album, great concept album. This is also phenomenal. They also sing in my native language Finnish so it´s really strange mix of ambience and familiar words combined in beautiful harmony.
This has become one of my hands down favorite albums in recent memory, kudos to Kauan for evolving their style in such a way as to create this beautiful music

I'm quite surprised not to see more Finns respond to this. I find this band perplexing, the music is great and the language choice is interesting but the result leaves me reminded of Pensselisetä (the viral video where a middle-eastern guy's singing sounds like finnish.) You have to understand, it's not normal for a finn to hear the finnish language sung by a foreign band. Upon first listen this sounds odd to my ears, time will tell if it stays that way.
I feel like the unfamiliar stress in pronunciation gives the lyrics this strange sense of strength. Like they're vocalizing an incantation in an unfamiliar language (which I guess they are, without the magic part).
Kauan makes great music and Marja Mattlar fine finnish language lyrics. Kauan means a very long time (half of eternity?) and Kaiho is a very deep longing for something on the other side...

With this album they reached a very similar sound (even the vocals) to the Finnish band Tenhi. That's a high compliment of course!
If you check the song Lahja a bit less before it end, you can hear the beginning of the song Jaljen from Tenhi, obviously they love Tenhi
