Out of all the Hyprland dotfile offerings out there, yours stands out as the "true default". Its purely functional, not an opinionated design, and is easy to further customise and maintain. Thanks for all your hard work.
I just migrated from Windows 11 to ML4W with Hyprland on Arch Linux. I built a Velka 3 system with AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D, 64 GB DDR5, and NVIDIA A2000 12 GB. The installation was easy. I encountered a minor issue with the keyboard language because I set my user manually. Then installing the proprietary NVIDIA drivers was a pain, but it works flawlessly with Hyprland. I also set up a Windows 11 VM following Stephan's guide. It is remarkable how customizable this setup is and how there is always a solution to everything.
Firstly I'd like to thank you for taking the time to teach us all. I've learned so much here already. Love the content you've been putting out! That being said, would love to see some longer format and/or more in depth configuration tutorials/videos if possible.
so awesome, good quality project like this will elevate linux as an daily OS for the masses, easy, convenient, beautiful- all while beeing not commercial big tech. THANK U SO MUCH, DANKE! :)
The ml4w "wallpaper blur effect" works very well! It allows me to use "blur"+ opacity, less performance hit, without gpu and for laptops. Anticipating the next release. I was able to customize ml4w to be pretty much exactly the minimal arch hyprland that I wanted. I don't even login to gnome anymore.
Your tutorials are always useful and precise, I have already performed the castomization of your dotfiles other times but when I update the version of the dotfiles it resets everything. How can I avoid losing the castomization?
Hey Stephan, your dotfiles are great! I've been using them for a couple of weeks now and i am so in love with the uniform sleek beauty of your layouts that i have abandoned Plasma (which I loved so much) completely. One question though: I'm using the setting which uses pywal and dynamically changes the color of the waybar and borders depending on the wallpaper's color scheme. I love the automated synchronization! But if I were to change the border colors from the ml4w hyprlands app, how then can I revert back to the dynamic color changing default? I don't see an option to go back to the default setting. I tried messing around with the scripts but what would happen is then the hyprlands app cannot be accessed anymore. I'm still a noob at hyprlands and linux in general, so this poses quire a problem.
Amazing again! Can Hyprland do something like what Display Fusion can do in Windows: assign hotkeys to predefined window layouts? For example, I set WIN+SHIFT+1 to move the active window into a 100% height, but 75% width (respective to the full width of the screen), but also centered horizontally.
Great work as always. Can i scale down the UI without goofing around with monitor settings ? This makes xwayland resolution to bump up and nation resolution looks blurry.
thank you! great setup. how can i open apps in workspaces on startup? like 1 - terminal, 2 - browser, 3 - chats Im using your dotfiles about a month. really awesome. thank you again for you work and vids
do tab groups still work for Hyprland? I haven't managed to run it on a vm, skill issue I guess. I'm sold for everything it has unless it doesn't support window/tile stacks like Sway or Pop does. I've only found a few entries on the wiki and a single video on RUclips of a stack that doesn't even has titles on it, so I'm not even sure if the feature is even present still. But that's on the WM side, your work looks so well done and polished, its more than just dotfiles :)
Even changing my wallpaper, whenever I log into hyprland after a reboot it " loads" the previous (default) wallpaper for 1-2 seconds before changing to the one I selected. Any hints how to address that?
