- When we told everyone the reason why we would be changing Asher's name, we got a LOT of feedback. We answer some of your questions and explain in more detail our reasoning behind it. This should clear up some stuff with some people.

I just don’t get why people think someone else’s kid’s name is their business! Asher’s name is only your family business and as long as you are happy with it, that’s it. I loved the name before, I love it now. Hope Cara will be better soon! ❤️

The name Asher isn’t the one they’re wanting to change tho, it’s his middle name they want to change as soon as they have one picked out.
They are the epitome of give me views for this topic. They chose the name. To change it is cowardly.
This is literally why I can’t have social media. I’m 34 and people think I’m crazy for deleting it all, but the mental aspect and judgment is waaaaay too much for me. And that was just from friends and family. Not complete strangers. You both are amazing. If I’m lucky to have children in this life I can only pray I’m half the parent you both are. 🤍 feel better Cara. 🙏🏼

I deleted every one of my social media accounts when I was 23(I’m 27 now) people my age and all my family didn’t get why a someone young in their early 20’s wouldn’t have it but they just didn’t understand how toxic of an environment it was and how draining it can be for a young woman to seem like she has to live up to certain expectations. It has its reasons for being good as well don’t get me wrong but it was honestly the best decision I could’ve made for myself at the time!

I was on FB briefly nearly twenty years ago (I’m 40!), and after a short while realised what it was gonna be like and I just had to get outta there…. Asher is one of the most beautiful babies I have ever seen. In my opinion, he appears to resemble his older sister Reese, more and more especially, in his profile. God bless you, baby Asher.

Hi Cara, I feel for you getting recurring mastitis. I’m a mum of four and have experienced mastitis and did much as you are doing. The only thing which seemed to prevent it for me was totally emptying each breast every feed. I learned to really appreciate pumping. It’s sad that you sometimes get negative messages as you are such a really lovely family. Don’t change! Xxxxxx

First time here, also. Thank God for husband's like this who take up where Mom needs it, plus handling the whole breast info like a champ. My ex couldn't have cared less. Asher was the name you chose, and I believe there is a reason why we choose the names we choose, and no, it shouldn't be changed.

When we were deciding on names for our oldest daughter we were going to name her Amelia and someone told me about the medical term Amelia. Like you said, it put a bad taste in my mouth and we ended up naming her Juliana instead. We've gotten a lot of comments about our youngest daughter's name. It's Magnolia (Maggie for short). It's different from our older daughters' more traditional names but it has sentimental meaning to us. I just wish people would mind their own business.
My pain management doctor, named his new daughter Flora.
At first, I thought it was a bit odd - him being a doctor; obviously aware, of what “gut flora” is.
Though, perhaps it’s such a beneficial thing, for the human body to function - that’s why him and his wife, chose it? Lol

Poor Cara , when I had mastitis the doctor who was a naturopath, and MD. recommended 15min of sunlight ( to dry out areola ) twice a day . So find a room with direct sunlight ( where you can open the window ) and air out your breasts. I guarantee this will work. You can also buy the heat lamps but natural sunlight is best. Please try , it also prevents mastitis. Good luck, and feel better. 🙏

I love when babies are learning to talk and get LOUD!! LOL So much fun.
I used to get mastitis a lot. I did antibiotics and that became an issue. Eventually my doctor told me to change the baby’s position a lot while nursing and never nurse while lying down. I loved snuggling my baby in bed and nursing first thing in the morning but had to give that up. It did help though. I was very careful to make sure he drained every duct and I nursed him a long time. I wish I knew about the garlic option.
Hi from New Zealand! For what it’s worth I had to share an age old remedy for mastitis used successfully many moons ago when having my family was putting a chilled cabbage leaf in bra. Extremely soothing for symptom relief and draws out toxins. Might sound strange but believe me it was tried and tested many times over. All the best Cara, rest up!

Don’t worry about what people say. Its your kids. Your baby. Cara I hope you feel better with the mastitis. I had it several times too. What helped me was taking showers and massaging my breast in the shower to break up anything clogged up frequently. It happens when they are pinching and not eating properly. Is he nursing a lot?
Btw there are garlic capsules you can pick up at Whole Foods or Sprouts if you have one near you. Amazon has them online also. Praying for you guys!

Why are people heartless? Is it envy, jealousy? Or just miserable in their own lives? My husband says I can find the good even in bad situations, so I’ll do my best: It must be difficult to read unnecessary, negative comments full well knowing they wouldn’t be nervy enough to say in person. Yes, easier said than done to ignore it. I have no idea how YT algorithms work, but if they’re commenting, they’re watching the videos which hopefully helps in the long run.

I take garlic supplements as an antibiotic. I take turmeric with ginger every day. I have for over 20 yrs and I haven't even had a cold in 20 yrs. No joke! I put my garlic gel cap supplements in my freezer so there's no after taste or any of that. Mastitis is the worst! Moist heat really does help! Love you guys! If every child had parents like you two, this world would be such a beautiful place!!!

It’s really none of our business. It’s really honorable to have his two boys match him. I see it’s a no or able noble to match their Dad. Look at it as an honor. I think the Grandpa Chatwin also has Hunter. I think but I’m not sure. If Grandpa chatwin and Dario and royal and Asher same middle name it’s family honor.. @Rachael Nelson I agree because changing a birth certificate is actually a legal document. It’s kind of a pain in neck a real hassle legal steps to do.
Mix the minced garlic with a spoonful of honey and take it that way! I do this a few times a week just for health prevention. My 11-year-old does it too! Sometimes we will put turmeric in there just for added anti-inflammatory.
I think parents pick a name that they like. Period. Why research the name, if you like it, go for it! 💕

I think the kids names are wonderful ( fun fact, I was adopted and had my name changed very late from Georgia to Christine, middle names changed too!) but you do you. Cara that is wonderful you are eating fresh garlic to help the mastitis. It really is a miracle food. I have used it for years and especially pump it up when huge virus bugs floating around....one trick I do if taking a largish amount. I put it into a spoonful of something that I like and creamy based and it really helps when I swallow that spoonful to dull the burn. I use good quality homemade type salad dressings even caesar sometimes but my favorite homestyle ranch. Or cottage cheese if on hand. If you do not like cream based even a spoonful of Salsa would really help. Done that too. Many options. And if you are really wanting to change his middle name it is perfectly fine and no ones business. I was shocked anyone even said all the things that were said. I am sure it will not be the first time in history that someone decided to change a babies name. And people even change their names when they are adults sometimes as well. hugs
The Jewish community shouldn't put down a family for liking name from their culture. When half of Western names used are literally of Jewish origin. So should we damn every non New for using so many Jewish first names. It's just a name. Be kind to others. Think beyond yourselves and your culture. I run a blog on Holocaust Education, and I did poll in a private group on this topic. Surprisingly, 79% voted that Cohen bothered them. However, 99% said they would never comment on it or give hate towards a non-Jewish family that named their child Cohen. I think as long as you are both happy with his final name, that is all that matters! ❤️

Ignore ignorant people. They don’t know you so what they say doesn’t matter. Their names are beautiful and different take it from a person with a different name.
Cabbage leaves help sooth & calm breast infections. If your weaning they also help while drying up. It sounds funny but line your bra cups with them. I did this, 2 of my sisters, one of my daughter in-laws did it, & so did my daughter.
But prayers & hugs that your infection clears up & doesn't come back.

Cohen is actually orginates from Ireland spelt Cohan and the Hebrew spelling is Cohen. He does suit the name Asher Cohen but if yoy don't want to use the spelling of Cohen change the spelling to Cohan.
