Spur Cross Conservation Area is part of the Maricopa County Regional Park System.
It covers 2,184 acres of diverse, rugged Sonoran Desert, and mountains.
It contains numerous archaeological sites, Cave Creek, and remnants of early mining and ranching occupation.
I took the Metate (Ancient Indian grinding stone), Towhee, Spur Cross, Boca Grande, and Dragon Fly trail loop. There is plenty of parking, restrooms, and well-marked trails.
