The 8RX is no doubt a very nice tractor. Practicaltiy of it is another thing to consider. They will be quite a bit higher in cost over the wheeled version and lot more up keep. Been studys on the newer low profile wide track tires available now that they say compares to the track machines in performance with better ride
I worked for John Deere hauling equipment. Most of the tractors I hauled in for service work were for computer and electrical work. I asked the senior master mechanic if he thought these new tractors would be around in 70 years like the antique tractors are around today. He laughed and said "no way! As soon as product support stops making parts they will fadeaway pretty quick." He did say something interesting though. He thought there will be the retired computer geek that will make the occasional custom replacement computer. But those guys might be rare.
Being a Deere guy, the 8rx is my favorite. Looking forward to seeing one with 30” wide tracks one day. The black fends with high flotation tires comes in second on my list. Fendts are pretty cool I must say.
The Fendt was my fav but seeing a Deutz was pretty neat. CLAAS still has a soft spot in my heart, and that Xerion 5000 you filmed with 710 duals still may be my fav.
Saw one of the MT875s sitting out at our local Challenger Dealers hat two stealth model editions sitting on the lot was cool to see all that big yellow power.
I have farming simulator 17 and it has a wide variety of the tractors and combines and equipment I like doing the management of getting to own the machines without leasing allowing the farm to make money i used to live on a farm and I miss farming its nice to see your videos it cheers me up
A lot of good choices but if I had to pick the 8RX is absolutely phenomenal tractor and the new Holland with the rear tracks that thing looks totally bad ass
I am no farmer but compaction is not only about the surface layer of soil. It is deeper down. It makes the soil unable to soak up rain water. Instead the water flows on the surface and drags soil with it into the streams. I know very little but I don't think even deep plowing solves compaction. The only thing that helps is to update the machinery to terra trac on all the heaviest equipment to avoid further compaction deep down in the soil. I'd love to learn more. ;)
You have asked for suggestions in another video ......... i would like to see more contoured farming an the setups farmers use to handle the hillsides. Farming over terraces an how the new equipment handles it. Thank you for all the info .
Good to see all that BIG IRON rolling in Western Kentucky ! I’m John Deere thru and thru but that Fendt looked BAD ASS ! I hope you guys have a good 2020 season and stay safe .
Great top 10 tractors👍I got test drive McCormick X7 which was awesome tractor to drive n operate. In February this year hopefully I get chance to test drive Deutz Fahr n Versatile. Hope to see new NH T8 n JD 8RX at dealerships or field days. Who knows maybe Kubota M8 on BTP? My uncle just brought second hand MF 7495 Dyna VT, maybe have chance to sow with Gason 30ft airseeder.
Your drone flying and drone footage has gotten so much better awesome job. Also the half tracked tractor seems to have a very stable ride compared to a single track machine. Great video!😊
Thank you for the info on the new John Deere ....... it looks like a great tractor for hillside farming . Your videos are always so informing ........ have a great 2020.
I have to say my favorite one is the Fendt, but that 8RX370 was flipping awesome. I'm really surprised that John Deere is the only one who is producing that type of tractor. You know it will sell like crazy lol smart move John Deere smart move.
My favorite is by far the new JD 8RX, that was a giant leap in JD's thinking, I would place the T8 New Holland in second place but the rattle of the front mud guard at 18:58 let me down as a Ford/NH fan, so it moves down to 3rd place, that was disgusting, the Fendt moves up to 2nd place, must say the color did it for me, the dull green make me look in another direction if I see one.
Plenty more for the list lol New Connect Magnums, Kubota M8/ Versatile Nemesis, and the Fendt Gen 6 version in the 900 series and from what I am learning is that Fendt is goin to Take over and Challengers will be Phased out
You make it so hard to pick a favorite, they are all so good. I like them all. I would like to see list them all in the description. It would be easier to remember them all. THANKS!!!
Love the big tractors. You do an especially professional job of both the video camera work but also the interesting narrative. One question, was the Steiger using a smaller than desirable implement? It seemed to underutilize the tractor. Just curious. Thanks much!!! - Dean from Minnesota
Oh man, if i won the lottery that half track would make an awesome baling tractor (smooth as butter) it's funny to think that Fiat did a half track in the 80's. But if you see in my latest 2 videos the latest T6 range of CNH are not a good northern tractor.
Oh my I am not really a fan of new tractors(like mid 80s and up), but hot damn that New Holland Genesis is one cool tractor! I bet the ride in it is amazing with tracks in the and floaters in the front! I could only imagine the power it can put down especially with weights in the front. I could only dream about using this as my woods tractor, she could make me some good money! But with my budget still use a 1954 Massey Harris that we fully customized with a full hydraulic loader live hydraulics in power steering I bet you it has over 60,000 hours and I still use it everyday!
@@bigtractorpower we got it stuck when it dropped through a marsh one year took two 90hp tractors and a big 4x4 Belarus and we almost ripped it in half lmao. Bottom end has never been touched too! @@bigtractorpower if you think it's one solid Massey Harris 44 after just talking about that, for the last two days I have been hired out to do some loader work with the tractor and I ended up forgetting I was using my narrow front instead of my wide front end was lifting a 1 ton suburban from the side one just enough of an incline and I ended up flipping it over on its side but luckily it wasn't a full flip as I landed on a snowpile so it actually flipped over quite nicely and almost majestic like LOL.it was all worth it in the end though because I got paid for two days a little work and the main reason I even took the job in the first place is I got a another 44 Massey for payment what's a lot of good parts on it including all good sheet metal fenders grill rims and hubs and many other things
I would argue that the Fendt/Challenger 1000 series lives in the same area as the big twin track tractors, particularly the 600HP Challenger and 9RT Deere. Gotta give it up for the new 8 & 9 RX series though, talk about making some news! Is this the point where tracks become less of a mainstream option and more of a mainstream standard? At least not just for articulated 4WDs anyway.
I liked the New Holland "Half-Track" because it reminded me of Dad's 540 Cockshutt with half-tracks. That little tractor with half-tracks could pull silage wagons where a 4020 JD with duals couldn't. Of course it's all due to traction and flotation. The half-tracks were like dozer tracks. What rubber tire can compete on mud or ice with that? That was a long time ago. But it's still fun to think about it. I wanted to ask: Is the McCormick tractor of today related to the McCormick-Deering of yesteryear?
Love your videos-THANKS! Was wondering who is the manufacturer for engines in McCormick tractors? And do you think farm tractors will go hybrid in the future?
Just for the record: Fendt equipment is made by Fendt in Germany, though the company is owned by AGCO, this is all German engineering and manufacturing. The tractors are still made in Marktoberndorf deep in Bavaria.
Yes McCormick was an International Harvester brand that dates back to 1831. McCormick merged with Deering and several other manufacturers in 1902 to form IH.
