I've always kind of like August Burns Red but appreciated their talent.
This album has raised metalcore to new heights. Not a weak song on the album. Absolutely amazing. One of the strongest songs on a great album.
truthlesshunter Inadvertently they are exposing all the generic bands clogging up the genre, which is great.
Found in far away places is a great album, but I still like rescue and restore better. That album is a masterpiece, and in my opinion is the album that really separates them from every other metal core band.
I agree Ben. Rescue and Restore seems to be incredibly underrated.

6 years later and this is still one of the best metalcore albums out there and my favorite ABR record.

If that's what you think Jake is doing, listening to some voice in his head then you are as insane as you are presenting him. Best case scenario he's positively using a form of insanity to create music.

The way they switch up styles around 2:10 and it doesn't feel awkward or out of place is just incredible! They do this in so many other songs as well and I love it everytime!

I've inadvertently been on a personal 1-year ABR hiatus, just now digging back into their stuff.
Nothing has changed. They still whup metal ass.
This is the greatest band of all time and they have really helped me in my struggle with alcoholism. I haven’t beat my mistakes, but I’m still working on myself. Addiction is so tough. Even when I think I’ve beaten it, it can come back like a titlewave.
This is the flag-ship song for the new album and what a great song! The evocation of the Italian-western Ennio Morricone-like music score for the interlude is overpowering! And the band is kicking-up more dust than a Clint Eastwood western!
I love the whole rhythm change, it reminds me almost of bluegrass or something, then it goes back to normal and melts your face off!! Keep it up, guys!

I can suggest some good ones. Fit For a King, For Today, Wolves at the Gate, Memphis Mayfire, As I Lay Dying, Wage war, Underoath. Just a couple I like, chances are you've heard of some of them. :)

I've got most of those bands but I'm more interested in melodic metal, maybe like Demon Hunter and Trivium though they are not Christian, I'm kind of looking for a Christian Trivium :P- MYST1CALPANDA2

I agree, i feel like Brent is the most underrated band member in my opinion, just because he's rhythm guitar. And, he is one of the founders of the band, so I don't understand, and in my opinion, he's just as good as JB.
Brent and Matt are the main lyric writers of the band. Plus, rhythm guitar in ABR is NOT easy, especially in Messengers; although rhythm in BTBAM and Cattle Decapitation are already in another level together.

Panic Room, The Well, Psychescape, First Father, Native Blood, Tiny Hands, Wasteland, No Place to Breathe, Inherit the Earth, and Orphan. Their entire discography is amazing, but those are their best in my opinion. Their newest album is a strong contender for album of the year for a lot of people.
