  • Hi. Truly a great session just after dawn. I was really unsure how the session would go, but just started slow.
    1) started closer to bottom and slowly worked my way up to the top (4 way stop).
    2) focus was on aiming for my pre-carve and timing.
    3) speed came shortly after and it was amazing.
    Linked videos:
Hector 34 mph: • Speed runs | buddy PR ...
Me 41 mph: • High winds | PR of 41....
It was a great confidence boost because I had been favoring my ‪@cometskateboards‬ with split trucks and ‪@SlidePerfect‬ torque block. Good to know I have equal control on symmetrical ‪@CaliberTruckCo‬ and no torque block on the ‪@ROCKETLongboards‬ Phoenix.
Thanks to everyone that takes time to make the comments - as I’ve learned a lot and practice the suggestions as best as I can.
And…thank you for all the new subscribers and continuing subs - at over 300 now. Humbled by everyone - so truly - thank you.

    See you next video.

If it’s something you want to try-definitely get a board…many options.

1:34 and 2:24 Those ones are already complete pendies. You can definitely practice hooking up and riding away with ones that are similar to those for sure. Great work!
And the amount of control and confidence you have while riding this hill comfortably is proof of your progress.

Wicked cool and thanks. Feeling really confident in stand up. Cool on pendies, but not sure how to hook up and continue? I feel off balance - to continue-too back from board and might be because of back knee/foot?

@@cantskate5535 You do have room for improvement with your stance, which can help improve midslide balance (helps when hooking back up). However, you can also definitely learn to ride away in your current stance as well. So, perhaps, you can definitely do both together (adjust your stance and also practice hooking up and riding away).
To practice hooking back up, shift weight onto the rear foot midslide (which is now in front) just before the slide finishes, and it'll help swing the board around faster, and this quicker returning swing will help add momentum to the body for standing back up (try hooking up before the deck swings back to be parallel with the road, so you're gonna be hooking up and turning left a bit).
As for your stance, locking your core to keep your glovedown hand closer to the front-left wheel and inline with the front axle can help a lot.
Additionally, slanting your torque block can also help get that rear knee down.

Would you recommend footstops to a beginner?

    • @cantskate5535
      @cantskate5535  Месяц назад +1

I’m still a beginner and say yes. It helped me to place my front foot properly just over the trucks. Plus, it provides a sense of control when you have to make transitions from standing to crouching and back up. I still have poor foot position awareness and the Riptide slab stop keeps me aware; many styles, but the slab works for me because it’s adjustable height and has greased washers to move with positions. Good luck. 👍
