Woodchuck. You're AWESOME MATTHEW!! I am starting up my woodworking again, at 70 yrs. old. I haven't done a whole lot in the last 40 yrs. but I still have the desire. I have bought the tools I need to make it easy on myself. But, you sir, have inspired me and I thank you. The fear wants to creep in, but I keep it at bay. Thank you, Matthew. Marilyn

That cutting board holder wall piece would be extra cool with a clock mechanism installed at the top, or router something personal at the top.

I LOVE LOVE L O V E THIS!!!!!!! My grandpa used to make walnut wall clocks out of cookies cut on about a 15 degree bias to keep the cracking down while it dried. I lost the last one he made when we moved back when I was 7 or 8 and have thought about it a lot. He used to use a radial arm saw and a log chain with a come along winch to lock it down to the table (the log) to slice the cookies, and then they got wrapped up and sat on the ductwork of the wood burning furnace in the basement.
I want to recreate my grandpa’s rocking chair, but a clock is way closer to my skill level at the moment

    Woodchuck
One of my very favorite channels. I don't have any intention of becoming a seller but I make many of these great little projects as gifts for friends and family and they (especially the women) are always thrilled. Seriously, when you give your sister in law a rustic kitchen "thing" and tell them you made it, they are delighted! All the sudden you get calls saying "My friend Linda saw the spice rack and wants one of your hand made spice racks so bad."
For forty minutes of work and very little money in materials you can give someone something that they enjoy every time they look at it because you MADE it.
Thanks for all the great vids, mate.

That is exactly the way I feel. Wife is a quilter and is in a small group and I made a spool holder for her and the ladies loved it so I made five more to fix them all up and now have all the baked goods a man could ask for and the praise is quite nice too.

Woodchucks can chuck 23 woods on any given day with a good wind at their back. Thanks Matt for another great vid! BTW, took the condiment table and paper towel holder and put a twist on them. It’s always a LE officer that’s wants unique so I stained them black and one set has the thin blue line in it. Only for the LE officer I still sold them super cheap even though it took much more time. Just my little way of saying thanks to them for keeping us safe. 😎

Would you consider doing a video about table saws. I’ve done woodworking for years, for myself, as gifts and to sell a bit.
I’m afraid of kickback and loosing fingers with a table saw. I’m very safety minded with a healthy respect for power tools. I need to break through this mental barrier.

Woodchuck reminds me of the time we were driving on a busy two-lane and saw a woodchuck trying to get across. Nonstop trucks and cars made him shuck and dive his way across safely. We all cheered and then I asked:
How many trucks could a woodchuck duck if a woodchuck could duck trucks?
Some laughs and more groans followed...
    😊

Woodchuck. Thanks for all the videos. I have been fascinated by woodworking since childhood but because I was a girl exploring it was never an option.
Your videos and tutorials helped to inspire me to try it. I don't have a garage and have to pull tools out of the shed, so it's a slow start, but I am learning how to use the tools and creating art. The smalls I'm hoping will fund my newfound passion. I just wanted to say thanks. You have also motivated other woodworkers I watch, so really you are the person who showed me I can do this. I just really wanted to say thank you, and the code word made me figure you would actually see this. Thanks again.

  • @halsonger1317
    @halsonger1317 24 дня назад

Woodchuck - for the shelf with the angled bottom you need to construct a tenoning jig, which is basically 3 pieces of plywood in the shape of a lower case "h" that fits over your table saw fence. You can set the table saw blade to a shallow angle for the cut on the front edge and clamp your board to the tall side of the jig to safely cut it. Since you also need to bevel the back edge you run that through the saw on the table with the blade set to the same angle and you'll get a complementary angle that will sit flat against the wall.

Woodchuck Matthew Peech your content is the best I’ve seen, and your personality and realism is great. I wouldn’t pay many people anything to teach me, but a few sessions in your wood shop would make a world of difference. Thank you for providing this content. I have my own sawmill, so I’m hoping I can make a go where others have failed. Do you have a list of the beginners beginners start here type of thing? Or recommend something? Building barns and chicken coops and deer stand my entire life, but no fine finish carpentry experience
