Adam and Abby, so glad you have finally made it to monument valley! We remember talking with you about it at the Blue Stallion meet and greet years ago. It is one of our favorite places , we just stayed at the View Hotel March 26 and 27. Took the private all day Jeep tour and it was definitely worth it! Fritz was a great guide. We went through the painted desert late March 28,so we just missed you. Put Yosemite and the Redwoods on your list, they are must see. Take care and happy trails.

Athough I live in Scotland, a long way away, i have visited Monument Valley and as someone who studied Geomorphology as part of my degree course in Geography and of course knew of the the area, nothing matches the spectacular size of the monuments when you get close up to them. Abbey will literally be blown away even more than normal. Enjoy yourselves!

Sorry Abby, predictive text and Coronation on the brain after TV saturation of recent events in the UK got the better of my spelling of your name ❤😮!

Nice video. "Go Treads" recovery boards would allow you to level your tires in the sand; plus you can use them as recovery boards with your truck if needed.

Cool campsite. Just got home today(Sunday from our big haul, many of the same places you visited, love the SW. Also did our first extended dry camping. You had mentioned proposing in an earlier video. We also tow with a Ram2500 Hemi not diesel, I installed Sumo Springs prior to our trip and it helped a lot with the bounce. We have coil springs in the rear, not sure if diesel is leaf or coil.

I want to camp there so bad!!! I bought an off road pop-up all ready for off grid. Thanks for sharing. One bad thing ive heard with lithium is they are super finicky in the cold and dont charge properly.
    Happy camping!!!

Looks like quite an adventure. We enjoy watching. Sand seemed extremely soft for leveling. Probably would have been easy enough to scrape away a little on the high side?

Love all the still pictures you added! Looks like a wonderful spot. Do you get much rattle from the generator that you can feel through out the RV?

I was thinking about the severe cold you had at night. My answer would be one of those Diesel heaters. They're about 5kW max and can be throttled back, they have timers and thermostats too so you could come back to a warm camper after a night of beer. The reviews of the Chinese clone devices on youtube are generally very favourable. I'm just thinking that it would just about mean you would never have to rely on Propane as you could just top up from any gas station.

The reason why it is cold there, in April is because of elevation. Most of the valley is a mile high or higher.

Wondering why y'all turn off solar? I can see leaving the inverter off to save battery.
We leave solar on always .. but I will say we have lithiums. With solar always on (even while in storage) our batteries are always ready and fully charged.
    Great episode ...beautiful scenery!

Solar is always charging the batteries. I turn off power to the inverter when it’s not being used.

If you get lithium you won't need a generator.
