IA&AS Officer banne ke baadh bhi, CAG tho IAS Officer hi jyada tar banta, Current CAG is an IAS Officer, 1978 Batch IAS Officer Rajiv Mehrishi is the current CAG of India.

Being from a family and circle of IAS, IPS, IDAS & IAAS officers, and being a grandson of an ex- Accountant General (IAAS), I can vouch that the kind of "pressure" and tweakings that an IAAS works under is unparalleled. The remakrs which you have given in your comment is simply the common perception that people have about the civil services in general, and there is nothing concrete in your remark. IAS are closer to politicians.. No PM wants a CAG against him /her. IAAS officers are independent through out their career. Yet till Dy CAG all top positions in CAG institutions is headed by IAAS officers only.

I m doing CA ..on d basis of my graduation degree i get into IA&AS then ...can i take study leave to complete my ca articleship ?..pls reply

You can take.
But after cracking UPSC, you need not complete ca, as these services are good.
You cannot get into IAAS by the sake of your graduation degree. You will have to work your ass off for like 2 years (minimum) to get into IAAS. It's even more tough than becomming a CA. So you can complete your articleship after getting into IAAS but there's simply no point in that. But then again, it's your call.

@@vaidehisahu6600 IAAS (Indian Audit and Accounts Service) is a Group A Civil Service. In order to get into it, you need to clear UPSC Civil Services Exam (popularly known as IAS exam). Generally, the candidates keep this service on their third/fourth/fifth preference (General order of preference is IAS> IPS> IRS or IFS> IAAS etc). As far as UPSC exam is concerned, you can get to know more about it through various other RUclips videos. But in short, if you wish to get into IAAS, you need to crack UPSC with a Rank under 300.

Department same hi h IAAS group A ki h AAO Group B ki service h
Assistant Audit Officer in CAG is a group B post. After several years, (almost at the last lap of their career), they are conferred into the Indian Audit and Accounts Service (Group A). Once they become IAAS officer (here IAAS is the service and not a post), they might be posted as Asst. Deputy Accountant General etc.

What is the difference between idas n ia&as officers?
Idas apka defense me Kam hota ha..unka audit karna unka account ka verify karna etc...but IAAS sab ka head hota ha....yeh koi particular field ka service nahi ha...Har Jagah pvt se govt sector tak audit aur accountant dekte rehte ha....unka audit karte ha...woh pcs ho yeh ias ho...sab ka
IDAS handles the accounts of the Defence Ministry. Their work involves things like releasing the salaries and pensions of the defence staffs, total control over the defence accounts, providing financial advises to the Defence ministry/commands etc.
IAAS officers, are mainly responsible for the auditing of all the ministries/PSU etc. Although they have this word "accounts" in their service name, but the nature of their work is more of auditing and less of accounting. The accounting is handled by the officers of ICAS (Indian Civil Accounts Service).
