I have been considering Hendersonville for so long. I am not sure why the downtown area has so few trees and so little landscaping. It makes no sense that the mainstreet area in Greenville, SC is shadier and far more heavily landscaped than Hendersonville. If anything, Hendersonville should have the more heavily landscaped downtown as the weather and rain is perfect for trees and plants, as evidenced by how nice Laurel Park looks.

Thanks for the video. I recognized everything except for the drive along the lake in Laurel Park. Where was that? If all goes well we will be living in Laurel Park starting in July as we are hoping to sign the paperwork tomorrow. Beautiful area. We were looking in Flat Rock but discovered Laurel Park last month.

@@GrandmaLivesInTheBasement Thanks. I know where that is now. We stayed at Echo Mountain Inn while we were up there and there are still parts of Laurel Park that we haven't discovered yet. We are looking at a condo lease across the street from Rhododendron Park. It will be our base as we look for permanent housing in the area. Thanks for the offer to help. I just may take you up on that after we get relocated.

Signed the lease agreement yesterday. Now it is just the timing of when we can wrap things up in Jacksonville and make the move. I am so tired of the Florida heat and having to hibernate most of the summer.

Sorry to butt in (months later), but I was going to ask the same question for the same reason. We're moving from Wake Forest to that area soon. How are you liking the Hendersonville/Laurel Park area? Any tips on areas to look for housing?
