@@AllbbrzI've always noticed it was busy but couldn't figure out the little subtleties. All of the LA Woman album is a bassist's gourmet dinner and dessert.
Firecub they did get a chance to perform it live in December of 1970. There is a bootleg recording from their shows in Dallas. Look it up it’s pretty groovy.
This song is a great example how a melodic bass player can make a song great. The Doors in earlier music never used a bass player. Watching you play this shows how melodic it is and must be fun to play. I am not that good yet.
Zero-Mod Thats true, but there were songs without bass. when I was a young man my friends had a speed metal band and i put on The Doors and my friend Frank never listened to Doors and he was a bass player and I forget the song but he was listening and said "Theres no bass on this song!" Then we explained the dynamic. Thanks for link!
To play The Doors songs have to be very good! Even because The Doors had no bass player in their live shows! Who performed the role of the bassist was keyboardist Ray Manzarek in his "Fender Rhodes bass keyboard"! Boy It was perfect! Congratulations!
Of course your playing is incredible as usual but that bass of yours can do it all. Sounds very good from this end, surely records well! You do a really good job producing these videos, very high quality. Great choice! Thx for all the work to share!
The Doors hacen un excelso trabajo añadiendo el piano y el bajo suena bastante elegante, esa es la palabra. Haces un perfecto trabajo recreando esa precisión y elegancia del bajo. Gracias! Muy útil tutorial. Y felicidades.
@@CoverSolutions Hi, still dead here and that's why I'm a Boo now. Just wanted to ask, is there here one of them there songs in which the bass part is not actually played by a bassist or rather someone who played the bass part on a keyboard, such as the Seinfeld theme?
Love your covers! Noticed your tabs have been taken down from mediafire any chance you’ve still got a copy you could share please? Would be even better if it was just in a text doc! Thanks!
Hello and happy new year! I just discovered your channel yesterday and my fingers hurts for all the playing along with your videos, I was playing for literally HOURS, so thank you very much. I'm not in Patreon but anyway, my first request for you: I would LOVE to see the bass line to "Froot" by Marina & The Diamonds. Yes I know you make primarily rock songs, but you will be very surprised about all the groove that bass has in that song. Check it out, as a bass player, I'm sure you gonna like it. Thank you!
+Mitar Zecevic That's a grace note. In this case you play a fast hammer on from the tiny number to the big one. I think i'll do a lesson about it to clarify more
Thank you, very nice work and an amazing list of covers The channel i've always dig for, i'd like to do the same but if i'm not busy i'm lazy 😁 Merci beaucoup et bravo pour le travail et les tablatures 🏆
I'd love to know who the 29 douche bags are that gave this thumbs down. Trolls. This is almost perfect. Such great technique. Appreciate your videos so much. Learn every time I watch. Mostly I learn that I need to watch more. :)
+Tika Traub Live their basslines were played by Manzarek on a Fender Rhodes Piano Bass, they also used this keyboard on their first album. However from their second album on they used studio musicians to play the bass on the records (with Manzarek still playing the bass parts live).
Hey guys! I play for 2 years electric guitar, I am not some awesome player but I am definitely not a begginer. I wanna buy a bass guitar. Do you think that I will have problems with learning to play the bass or that it will be much easier for me thanks to my guitar skills? :)

I never realised Jerry Scheff's bass was so busy on this song. Very well done!
You kidding ? The song is bass driven :-)
@@AllbbrzI've always noticed it was busy but couldn't figure out the little subtleties.

The bassline and tone are both equally incredible
Yeah
The Doors keyboardist (pianist) Ray Manzarek would play the bass fill using his left hand and organ on right all the time during performance.
Briana Martinez in the album L.A woman Jerry Scheff played the bass
Briana Martinez yeah but The Doors never performed this song live as Jim Morrison died shortly after the album was first released
That’s true
On this album there is a bassman

I can't believe that people still think that the doors did not use bass in there songs
They normally didn't in the studio, and never live. Personally I think their best songs were ones with a Fender Bass
Yes- Roundabout
Please.
he's right you know. that's a great song for the bass.
it's also fucked up hard!!! squire played that shit with a pick too!!!
im pretty sure he already did it

One of the most complex bass lines in a pop recording ever

pretty cool bass line for a band that generally didn't use a bass, at least live
Even more cool when you consider the bass on this song was originally played by Jerry Scheff, bass player for Elvis in the 60s and 70s.
What a sweet bass line
