Just got the Deluxe last week and I must say it sounds stunning! I even got rid of my Prophet 10 to purchase it as I feel there is way more potential in the Hydrasynth for sound design. Your playing and sounds are extremely inspiring. Thanks for putting a smile on my face!👍

How blasphemous of you to do that. The Prophet 10 is one of the best-sounding synths ever!

Many thanks for sharing and for your feedback! I'm happy you find the Deluxe and the sounds inspiring. As owner of both, I agree that while the Prophet 10 is a wonderful-sounding classic synth, the Hydrasynth is a different kind of beast and has far more potential in terms of sound design.

@@jackcimino8822 Not saying the Prophet 10 is bad, on the contray, it is a stunning piece of hardware but when moneys tight you have to go with what you get the most mileage out of.👍

@@jackcimino8822 Other people's vision _should_ be different than your own. Nothing can be blasphemy in art as nothing can possibly be universally sacred. I probably hate half or all of what you find beautiful. You surely would feel the same about my sensibility. It's like when the dudes I'd talk to at school or work used to argue about what kind of girls or aspects of girls where "better." Why in the fuck would you want your competition to agree? I like a friend who likes completely different chicks than me so we don't get in each other's way and can even compliment each other in our dealings as we go along.
I'm already me, a carbon copy of me brings very little to the table.
Especially with something as formless and shapeless and infinite as synths are in the first place this is strikingly true. So if you really believe what you say here is true it is actually kinda dumb to say it. I like the dark Moogs for instance, that's _why_ I want most people to like the brightly colored ones. The dark version only needs to remain popular enough that it is offered as an option when I get my matriarch to match my Grandmother and the 3 modules. Heh. Why would I want to promote my style outside of actually strutting it? You're giving away the answers for free.
For the record I like both and do think the Prophet (10, or any model really) is a more dignified and classier instrument but I am fascinated with the ASM Hydrasynth nonetheless (and may just have to snag one.) There's room in the world for both. Both and many other things, in fact. So this guy put another Prophet 10 on the market *WE* should both be thanking him. It's not like he burned it out of spite, man. Heh heh.

Thanks for sharing! It's an incredibly capable synth and hopefully you'll enjoy it. I own and have owned many synths, but have to say that I use the Hydrasynth for music-making than any other.

I just ordered my Hydrasynth Deluxe and I am looking for all the typical Vox Humana / Gary Numan sounds from Replicas, Pleasure Principle, Telekon and his Live Living Ornaments 79,80 and 81 concerts. Is "Sync Saws" the closest I am going to get to that sound with your patches?

    • @synthuniverse

Great that you're getting a Deluxe! If you email me at synthuverse@gmail.com with RUclips links to specific points on those Numan albums where the sounds you're interested in are playing, then I'll be able to answer your question
