  • Antara Holloway interviews Mark Arm of Mudhoney for mxdwn. Mudhoney was formed in Seattle at the start of the city’s grunge scene phenomenon. Their debut single “Touch Me I’m Sick” and EP Superfuzz Bigmuff are credited as being vital for the genre. Out of the ashes of Green River, Mudhoney was founded by vocalist Mark Arm and guitarist Steve Turner, who then took on drummer Dan Peters and bassist Matt Lukin. After Lukin left Mudhoney, Arm recruited Guy Maddison who he had previously worked with in Bloodloss, and has been with the band since. In an interview with mxdwn, Arm sheds light on their latest record, Plastic Eternity , their recent tour and how being actual friends mixed with some luck has led to their decades of success. Plastic Eternity is Mudhoney’s 11th full-length studio album and was released under Sup Pop.

Enjoyable interview. A bit awkward. Mark Arm’s so sardonic and gritty and the interviewer’s just not on the same wavelength, trying to stay in formal interview mode. Glad I watched tho, overall I’m happy you put it out there. Just an interesting mismatch between interviewer and interviewee.
