A public school is the school where the kids from the area go to without paying.Private schools are schools you have to pay to go to (there’s 3 around my area ranging from $20,000-$45,000 a year) and because of this funding they have better coaches and equipment. Also were the first public school team in over 10 years to win the national title.

@@bigchungus3631 Yeah, there's a chance you could be that tall. Lots of kids your age and older end up going through a big growth spurt at a late stage. The chance gets higher if either parent is above average height.
Just so you know, the average height for men in America is 5'10". Also, really tall people don't always have it easier. Try flying when you're taller than about 6'3". I served in the Navy with a guy who was 6'6" and that dude banged his head on something almost every day. He gave himself two concussions in three years on that ship.
I, on the other hand, went through one giant growth spurt in the summer between 7th and 8th grade and never grew another inch. I grew nearly 6 inches that summer and ended up being 6'0" by the time I walked into 8th grade. It was not fun, let me tell you. My dad is 6'2" but my mom is short.

It's crazy how dominant this team was considering they were a public school. The top teams are basically always private schools because they have more money and can recruit people from out of their district. Public schools are free and can't take kids who live outside their city so it was basically like a team of local kids were beating national powerhouses who recruit kids from all over the country.

It is very rare for a public school to do this. They are free to attend and receive little funding and are mismanaged. My high school was built in the 60s and is full of asbestos and has had the gym flooded multiple times. The wiring is so bad fire alarms go of sometimes weekly, one time twice in a ten minute span. PUBLIC SCHOOL IN THE USA LOOKS LIKE ITS THIRD WORLD. For a public school to do anything like this against private ones is a miracle

Lonzo was drafted 2nd overall by the Lakers but battled injuries and inconsistency so they traded him to New Orleans before this season. He seems to be doing a lot better there and still has potential to be an All-Star caliber player. Lamelo is slated by some experts to be a top 5 pick in this coming draft. Liangelo was playing college ball at UCLA before he got into some legal trouble. Not sure what he's doing now. This video barely even touched on their dad Lavar who is a whole character on his own.

instead of playing in college, lamelo went overseas to play professional basketball on a 2nd league Team in Lithuania at age 16, making him the youngest american player ever to sign a professional basketball contract. He had quite a few great but also a lot of bad games over there. His dad founded his own basketball league called "JBA" for young players who didn't want to go to college and lamelo started playing there after one season in Lithuania. The competition there was basically nonexistent and the entire League only lasted one season because of a lot of backlash. At this point, not a lot of people expected him to even get drafted at all. After that one season in the JBA Lamelo briefly went back to high school, but soon after he signed a contract with a team from the National basketball league in Australia, so very high level Basketball. This was his chance to prove himself and he delivered, taking a big role replacing the injured star point guard and winning Rookie of the Year. In January this year he finished his season in Australia and declared for the NBA draft where he is now projected to go 3rd overall. A pretty insane story and i definitely didn't cover everything

Most current NBA players started playing basketball at an early age--earliest is 6. Giannis Antentokounmpo started at age 12 and in Greece.
US public schools are mostly government funded, and private (and Catholic) schools are funded by the parents/guardians. Their price tags can be astronomical.
Grade school is 1st to 6th grades; junior high school is 6-8; and high school is 9-12. The average age for a first grader is 6.
By age 18 first year of college (freshman) is the norm. 2nd year = sophomore; 3rd yr = junior, 3rd yr = senior.
Ballers/athletes enter college on a specific sport discipline scholarship. NBA/NFL/ NHL/MLB/MLS bound are usually recruited by the team's head coach in a Division I (one) college's specific sports program in the National College of Athletes Association--NCAA. These head coaches are well known and respected in their sports disciplines.
[In NCAA Men's Basketball the head coach with the most national championships is in North Carolina Duke University (Blue Devils)--Mike Krzyrzewski---Coach K.
He was also the head coach of the Olympic Team USA. Not for these upcoming Olympics this time. Two great NBA head coaches have the honor: Head coach is Gregg Popovich (San Antonio Spurs) and he has elected head coach of the Golden State Warriors, Steve Kerr, as his assistant coach.]
From NCAA Division I to national major league team/individual sports via league's draft.
That used to be the norm in basketball. Now, NBA bound players can play abroad for a year or more, and then enter the NBA draft.
Thanks to RUclips/social media, Zion Williamson and Ja Morant were well known in basketball circles when they played in their high school teams. Their games/plays went viral. When they played in their one and only year in the NCAA , they entered the NBA draft. Zion was the first over all pick selected by the New Orleans Pelicans and Ja was second selected by the Memphis Grizzlies. Zion is much watch television more than Ja Both are 2020 Rookie of the Year Award front runners.
Check out their pre and post draft performances and you'll see why they are a must watch. Would like to see your reaction of their plays. Peace.

Private schools have a lot of money. They have the best sports programs because they can afford the best coaches and facilities. They can offer the best young players in the country a scholarship to play and they also have the best teachers so they will get a great education as well. So it's a dream for parents and kids. While public schools are just made up of kids in a particular neighborhood paid for with tax money. They don't often have the best coaches or facilities. Some have amazing coaches and perfect gyms but most public school coaches are volunteering because they grew up playing and want to teach the younger generation and play in very old buildings.

Lonzo is a popular player in the NBA right now. He is really good sometimes and struggles others.
The second, liangelo got caught shoplifting in China during a trip for a college game and trump had to help get the players caught out. He left Ucla. He probably wouldn’t have played much anyways because he wasn’t very good compared to his bros.
Their father, who is a famous trash talker and media guy, pulled the two younger ones out of school and they played pro in Lithuania. Liangelo went undrafted and sucked in nba tryouts.
The youngest, lamelo, returned to high school basketball and was a top college recruit, but opted to play a year in Australia instead until he is eligible for the draft, and he is being projected as a potential number 1 pick this year

Private schools in America are usually good at sports. But I hated going against them in any sports. A lot of rich snobby folks tbh. At least here in Knoxville TN. East side of town is poor and the west side of town has all the private schools. But hey. Is what it is. I am proud of the public school I went to.
