I love Chris Stapleton, he is a legend. Tennessee whiskey is one of my favorite songs. He has a voice that just transcends and he should be in the hall of fame.
As for Chris' other songwriting credits, how about Montgomery Gentry's "I Got Drunk", from their "You Do Your Thing" album? I knew that song for years, but didn't know it was written by Chris until a few years ago!
I think Chris is shy and humble. I really think it was Morgane that pushed him. We all have imposter syndrome. I do think he is not a “look at me person” so his songwriting feeds his soul. I am forever grateful that he did get on the stage. The two shows I have seen him perform life were amazing!
But he is. I was literally in the Country Music Hall of Fame last year and he has the most in it… an entire wall actually - and it’s big. Why are y’all saying he’s not? 😅
Tennessee whiskey was not written by Chris Stapleton many artists have covered it since the 50's I think but if he's eligible why not it's not going to change him or his writing style. Kris Christopherson is beyond deserving for what he has contributed to the country music industry and beyond.

@@Pcordova484 he is not eligible yet for consideration. It’s really as simple as that. If he keeps punching out good songs that become smash hits like “She Had Me at Heads Carolina” or “You Should Be Here,” then absolutely agree.

I don’t think he should wait 12 years, but Chris is far from being done. Way to many more #1’s to be written.
His rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner at the Super Bowl brought tears to my eyes and I’m a Canadian👍🏻🇨🇦🎸🇺🇸👍🏻

I disagree that JT overpowered that whole performance at the CMA. I think the first half was Totally owned by Chris the second half was definitely JT.

Chris is great. But canadian music hall of fame is slower than molasses. Harry Hibbs still isnt even on it. His family has been waiting for over 25yrs
