He's obviously a Roy Orbison fan & he's doing the right thing with his vocal similarity. Interesting dude for sure. Sort of late Roxy sound, mixed with Orbison with a touch of that "lady in red" guy thrown in. To be born with a facial structure that looks right for the part; doesn't hurt either. The drama with holding the rose & all is funny & interesting. Hope he does fantastic.
