Ah looks like RUclips knew I needed this video. I'm not lactose intolerant, but I have a inflammatory disease which causes flare up from dairy products. My bones crack alot, I was already worried about my calcium intake because I cut down dairy. I'm not worried anymore!
@@GM-qi8pw We are gatherer hunters, opportunistic omnivores. Most people are lactose intolerant. Just because we have the ability to consume something doesn't make it essential for health. Adult milk drinking is more an adaptation than an evolution.
My knees used to crack everytime I get up from the floor or when I squat. Increasing my calcium intake from high-calcium milk and yoghurt didn't help. It only went away after I started weight lifting.

Milk is not particularly good for you (or a particularly good source of calcium) but criticizing dairy products puts you into the 'endangering our kid's teeth and bones' category. Calcium is also important for our emotional well being. A good calcium, magnesium, zinc and D (combined) supplement is good to take (and harmless) esp as we get older.
I would also add that it's terrible to suggest only eating vegetables for older people as you require a more acidic stomach to derive the most of those minerals. Vegetables contain anti-nutrients and enzyme inhibitors which reduce the correct functioning of your digestive system..........

Would, but I’m at risk of aortic dissection. So lots of weight bearing walking and basic housework such as vacuuming, scrubbing the tub, mopping floors.
A lot of stuff missing here. but I guess it's fine for a 4 min video. for example. your body doesn't really absorb calcium from milk that has been heated. like the ones on store shelves. in order to increase the time, it can stay on the shelf for you to buy. The same goes for foods that have been artificially supplemented like cereals and tons of other processed foods. the less processed the food is. the better it is for you.

Heck, there isn't even any evidence out there that cow's milk does have a positive effect relating to healthy bones. There's a lot of articles claiming that milk is a good source for calcium, but actually none of them that have any evidence to back it up properly. Something containing a lot of vitamins doesn't necessarly mean your body will absorb them properly. Most of the artificial vitamins don't have any positive effect other than raising your risk to get cancer and leave the planet early. Besides that, most of the extra added artificial vitamins that are added to foods and whatnot don't even have a single positive effect on the body either.

Yes you can get calcium from other places than milk products. BUT they didn’t mention any portion sizes. To get the same amount of calcium than from a cup (=2.4 dl) of milk you would have to consume: 300 g of spinach / 1,5 dl of almonds / 5 eggs / 2-3 oranges / 3 tbls of tahini / 5 dl of soya beans / 150g of salmon / 1 kg of broccoli. An adult needs 800 mg of calsium a day, which is about 3-4 portions daily. Yes, you can live with out drinking milk, but getting enough of calsium with out any milkproducts is hard.
This is short on actual information... our body takes calcium from our bones to maintain alkaline blood which can become acidic from too much soda, or animal protein (yes, milk is counter-productive here), to name but a few of the causes of acidity. Kale chips took me from border-line osteoporosis to normal bone density... and they're very tasty!

Wouldn't strengthening your bones via activity be increases its MASS? So we don't stay the same MASS, if we lose calcium overtime from inactivity
