@RAAGA SRI BALASUBRAMANIYAN he not creates the whole watch but he includes the option to travel beyond 24 hours. So first of all you go and watch that movie again 🤣🤣🤣
Rajesh Ravi Very True !! His take is very refreshing. Helps you to appreciate the movies & the technicians more & in one way takes your movie viewing experience forward.
Chitti saving the naked girl is a strong scene which conveys how less humane machines can be...They just obey orders ...That is the scene which leads vasi to rethink about chitti that he created
Leyandor logan 2018, yes!! But remember it's in India. 2018 in India is the year when an actress's head is put on bounty for the sake of a fictional character.
It can also be interpreted in this way that, Shankar Sir smartly wanted to point out that How stupid and backward our societal norms are that because the Girl is nude in public so she has to commit suicide. According to our social norms, Girls Dress is more important than their Life. I think this is what they want to show. Though I believe, A Movie is an Art and sometimes it can be interpreted in any way.
I never take Rajni movies too seriously and I had a ball of a time watching this one. Also Aishwarya was superb in it. I think it was a nice fun movie.
For some reasons, these days I enjoy seeing someone talks about movies, rather than seeing movies itself. My favorites movies are (Forest Gump , Reader , Kannathil Muthamittal), if you have some connections with these movies I like to hear you speaking about these movies.
Please do one about the movies between 2005 - 2015 when tamil cinema changed. Kadhal, 23rd Pulikesi, Kattradhu Tamil, Oram Po, Pudhupettai, 7G rainbow, Polladhavan, Anjadhey, Chitram Speaks di, Mounaguru, Thadayara Thaaka.. and so on. The underdog films that changed the tide in Tamil cinema.
I am a big movie buff! I always wished Indian movies were analysed like a hollywood movie. One of the best movie reviews I have ever seen! Kudos #BR. Please make such analysis reviews more often! Looking forward for analysis of classics like Indian, Ayirathil Oruvan, Anbe Sivam, etc !
Hello sir! The Sujatha's short story you are talking about is 'Nagarvalam', from his short stories compilation titled 'Vingyana sirukadhaigal'. 😊😊 Totally in love with these #askBr videos. Nice insights sir!👍
Loved the session. One small nitpick would be the auto-focus. When viewed full screen you move in and out of focus. Hope it is rectified in the next vid.
Sir, the important part of my question was about "Netru indru Naalai'" movie... You missed out that. I'd like to know you're take on that movie, which received warm reception by the time it released.
Sir you should definitely do a session on uthama villian and kuruthi punal.. I still think it is an underrated movie which we all praise after 5 yrs just like we do for ayirathil oruvan and anbae sivam
Nice video and session again. I never thought would watch a discussion on Enthiran, but just kept watching with some intelligent Q&A, that covers much more than just the film. Very informative.
Despite tackling several issues about existence of god in the life of kamal haasan, ANBE SIVAM stands out to be a spiritual lessons with a human centered script, rather than a idolized concept. Your views on that?
I more like Dasavatharam and 24 as they had an explanation for the happenings in the film. Enthiran has few logical errors and somewhere the film becomes a bit simple but it satisfy as an awesome entertainer and is much better than 2.O
I still remember how much pumped up I was when I was waiting at the ticket counter. I had that strange tickle and excitement that I was going to watch a movie of my lifetime. All went fine till the intermission. I almost got goosebumps when Chitti walks out of clinic spreading his hands out and feeling the love for the first time. I was thinking "my god, Shankar is the one for our indian film industry". Then came the mosquito scene, ramanarayanan-isque climax scenes(with all villians taking form of all known geometric shapes and creatures) and cringe-worthy techno showoffs. I thought somehow that magic got lost - could have because of sujatha's sudden demise or the financial issues production team faced. I was hoping of some sophisticated, typical shankarish twists and surprises in the story but... Well you know how it finally turned out. The theme was actually brilliant (as BR says Shankar's version of Frankenstein) but the plot was too predictable and obvious. Nothing blew me out Having that said, I'm still all pumped up for 2.0.
BR, Shankar's choice of heroine (casting) is always very poor . Manisha/Amy/Shriya/Aishwarya/Urmila/etc. I think he also goes for fair skin instead of who would be apt for the character? Whats your thought process about that. One suggestion if you can, please let us know what is the next ASKBR movie at the end of the video so that we will go thru the process in our head for sometime before we can post the question. Thanks for what you are doing.
Okay I'm sorry that I'm nitpicking... but please work on the camera a bit more? I'm getting a headache... it seems to be focusing in and out over and over again. Sorry.
The core story of Enthiran/Robot is essentially Aalavanthaan/Abhay. Both antagonists (Chitti and Abhay/Nandu) are obsessed over the heroine and seek them.
That's the greatness of an ART. Everyone can perceive it in different ways and sometimes even we can differ from the maker itself. There is nothing called great perception or understanding. It just reflects us in our views
@@b0rangan I am always confused on what is "screenplay", is it how the scenes and shots are arranged in sequence or is it how the characters move their positions in a frame, because when you said that the climax had loose screenplay I couldn't connect to it, I badly want to it. Kindly help
24 is a decent science fiction film rightly done
That's not sci-fi movie but a fantasy movie. Especially, a watch machanic inventing a time travel watch is beyond sci-fi genre 😂😂😂.

@RAAGA SRI BALASUBRAMANIYAN but that one scene is enough to say that this movie is not an sci-fi movie, isn't ?

That scene might work on 2010 but not on 2018. Is dress more important than saving a life?
thats from girls point of view...there are many in tn who think maanam motere important than life
Leyandor logan 2018, yes!! But remember it's in India. 2018 in India is the year when an actress's head is put on bounty for the sake of a fictional character.

Another biblical reference - the Puthiya Manitha song has a background of sheeps bleeting when Chitti is 'born'.

If not the best that can be one of the best films of Shankar Sid And Thailava Rajni Garu
the love angle is very much necessary... It is what the movie is about- The humanity in robots
The movie which amazed me most. Cause Science blend with minute emotions here.
Uttama Villain please!
Adhukku oru 2-hour episode pannanume :-)
We are here to watch! ;)
+1 for Uttama Villain :)!!!
Baradwaj Rangan we're ready :D

BR sir, do you take questions on Telugu movies and would you like to answer them ?
Sir that novel is sujathas sorka theevu..
Ah. Didn't remember the name. thanks.

Benchmark for indian science fiction is definitely Indru Netru Naalai (2015)
The special effects worked? Really?
agree or not...
i love kgf, robo , 2.0 , bahubali series more than any Hollywood movies like avengers series etc..

Since Aruvi has been a a huge success, I guess it is the right time to make azhagiya kuyilae
Ramanarayanan on steroids... ha ha ha..
How about some visu movies
Would be interesting to know, what are the changes Shankar did in the script when he changed the cast? which he mentioned during an interview

Shankar S you echoed my thoughts. But I am not even thinking about 2.0. Its gonna be a huge techy oriented but a plastic movie
#AskBR could you please do something about the camera - it re-adjusts focus quite a few times

Enthiran and Kabali are severely overrated. Sivaji was awesome, one of Rajini's best movies actually.
