Basically everything you said about the Ultimates is what I’d say about the Pros. I love mine, but I decided to switch to turf Mercurials for AG after a close call while training with my friend. The studs are just too long. I really wish actual AG variant boots were more available in the US. 👍🏼
I'm loving my pair too! Also keeping my eyes peeled for a Tricks colourway 😉 There is a "HG" soleplate available in the Asian market, which is conical and probably a bit more gentle on artificial grass.
I would love to get a pair as well 🤩 I'll definitely have a look for those HG versions, I'd love to get some that are a bit less aggressive on AG pitches

when talking about sizing, as im from the uk and im a uk size 8 in normal shoes (like an air force 1) i usually go up one size to a uk 9 when buying my football boots - did you go up one size from your normal shoe size when buying this football boot or only half a size ( only asking because im not too familiar with your US sizing)
Another hack I've had good success with...I've used my table-mounted belt sander to reduce stud length on "retired" FG boots. Even when I've reduced length by about 30-40%, he tells me traction remains extremely high on AG, yet he can pivot better (and I feel like it's safer for him).
@@NoahCavanaugh Think I’ll grab a pair of these in MG as I am mostly playing on artificial grass and have other boots for natural grass. Used to play with FG boots on AG too but it burned out my legs really fast and it would result in shin pain, injuries etc. Even AG plate is a bit too much for me but turf ones at the same time don’t perform nearly as well. So yeah, I’ll try a pair of MG of these. Thanks for the vid, been watching your boot reviews every now and then and they are really good 👍
the best of puma future appart of comfort and competitive prices, it's the colorway or special edition, but this soleplate in this specific model AG it's too long studs, and excelent Review
Totally agree with your comments about studs. Too long and bladed for Artificial Ground😢 Especially it is not apropriate for AG pitches around my home. It grabs the grass too tight that my ankle hurts after football matches. I hope Puma will change the soleplate structure adding round shaped studs like the Nike ones🙏
Yep i would not recommend these for AG, now dealing with an ACL injury after an intense, but short game. These are definitely meant for FG. You could say i learned that that way…
I've owned the 1.4s and loved them. However just got the ultimate and there's alot more dead space around the toes in comparison. Kind of a bummer, thought about going half a size down but I can't really sacrifice any width.
I went half a size down as well as I had a bit of space on my toe area. Does feel a bit tight now but it’s biting my foot on the side a little bit but I haven’t done any exercises with it. I’m a bit scared they won’t break in .
@@NoahCavanaugh I'm so let down by shoes costing $200-250 and then they lose their stiffness/ material quickly. I thought my New Balance Furon V7 were super good, and now I've had them 5-6 times and it just feels like a loose rubber sock!
The first takedowns of these boots have cylindrical studs too which might help a bit with the pivoting issues. Plus according to SR4U those takedowns are just as good as these in terms of the quality of the upper material and the boot overall.

It's definitely a personal preference - some people won't wear boots after the smallest little bit of separation while others will play with their boots until the entire sole is ripped off 😂

Was figuring since its been 5/6 months you might have more to add to that @@NoahCavanaugh thanks My son has the Future 1.4 Parisian color way and loves them, got a ton of use out of them, so far 9 full months but the sole/upper is pulling away in the right toe for second time a month after repair. have been reading mixed reviews on these newer futures not being as durable...just hard to read into how long they seem to last before they really start going downhill...less than 2/3 months isn't worth it for the Future Ultimates, but might be ok for the Pro version. Appreciate it if you have a little more to add on the topic..thanks
Hi, i got the future match version of these.(cheaper) I got a size 8(uk) and the feel comfortable but not snug up front. There is about 18/20mm from big toe - front. I can only get a size 7(due to store voucher if return) would you think a size down will be to much?

Maybe! Not sure mate - some boots just aren't quite the right shape sometimes... Give it another wear or 2 and then re-evaluate! 🤝

The weird thing is that Puma also offers HG stud pattern for this model. Those are ones that are best on turf - not these or the MG.

I tried going down half a size and I had to REALLY wedge my foot in. Finally got it in using a shoe tree, felt a bit tight but length was better.

I'd say they're wider than the normal fit version of the Tekela, and about on par or a little wider fitting than the GX, especially in the toe box.
