Hello, my name is Lourdes Martín, and I am a housewife. Hi everyone, I’m Larissa, I'm in my last year of language high school, I’m 18 years old. I’m from Italy, I live in Bergamo a city close to Milan, and I have been in Malaga for seven days.
I'm feeling very well. I have a room with all the space that I need and my host family is very kind to us. She cooks a lot and she’s always kind, she is like a grandmother to us and I’m very happy.
I have been hosting children for at least three years now; depending on the groups that come, they either come with full board or half board. Some rooms have two beds, while others have two bunk beds. Typically, the girls are very comfortable, they have space, they have everything. Their beds are nicely made, with their own sockets; all their things in good condition.
From home it takes 7 minutes walking to get to the school, so it’s very close. Among other things to get there you pass through the main street where there are many shops and bars where you can have breakfast. The school is totally different from Italian schools because the classes are smaller and more technological and, for example there are not the usual desks, but there are chairs with a shovel and the teaching method is totally different because we don’t use books but mainly we have worksheets or we use technology to learn.
I often communicate with them or with children through the translator, depending on what comes up.
Yes, because if you don’t know Spanish perfectly it doesn’t matter. I make many mistakes too, but nobody judges you for how you speak. Indeed everyone is always very helpful and we are getting along well. If we don’t know some words there’s no problem and above all I think that this experience is perfect to learn to take responsibilities and it allows you to live a different and wonderful experience friends or classmates that is truly different and wonderful at the same time.
See you soon, see you in Málaga!
