@@bradhuff256 That is true! Maybe if they are caught violating a law, then maybe mandatory treatment? People aren't able to help themselves unfortunately. The government should step in if the public and private can't/won't. Or at least build a ton of housing so they can afford homes and stop falling into homelessness in the first place.
@@WELVAS. Well, for reference, the previous Republican Governor in NM decimated mental health care in the state during her hugely embarrassing reign of terror. The reality is, NM no longer has the resources to combat mental health issues it once had, thanks again, to the previous Republican leadership. @@bradhuff256 100% agree with you. She absolutely decimated the services we had. For a minute, it seemed like the current Republicans in power finally accepted and understood we need behavioral and substance abuse treatment programs, but they have continued to express no interest in changing policy to help get funding. how will they sell papers?
How will they pay these fines? Hmm? Why are you making it harder on the unhoused?!
Waste everyones the time, create paper work, burden the Police
How about if the person is found to be homeless they get mandatory substance abuse and behavioral treatment, and resources to get back on their feet.
