- Bibbville was known as Bibb Court House before the county seat and courthouse was moved BACK to Falls of Cahaba (Centerville) They also had a famous train robbery, and maybe some other history that I missed. If you know something I missed about the history, drop me a comment. Bibb county history begins here as the history of early Alabama starts here.

Oh this is my 2nd comment the problem with people getting sick and dieing especially at a young age there is bc of hepatitis...it was in the drinking water for a long time and messed people up permanently for decades.
The number of child deaths, and especially the three still-born deaths in the same family in more recent history strikes my curiosity to know more. I can't remember for sure, but I think they're called Sanborn Insurance Maps that may indicate more of the original structures and rail lines that were in the town of Bibbville. I had done some searching of them on my original hometown of New Haven, IN a few years ago looking at original railroad lines and was very surprised to find much more trackage, a brewery, and a lumber yard that existed in the early 1900's that were all long gone way before my time; places I had no clue existed, as any signs had been completely erased by time. Really cool stuff. Peace and love.
My family lived in Bibb Courthouse in the 1800's and all moved as a community to Mississippi. My 3rd Grandfather Squire Harpole had 22 children with 3 wives. I just found out last year but boy oh boy was it eye opening. John Raiford Fulgham, Alexzander Sudduth, Vardamen Carden, Quinn, Ramsey, Griffin, James Pierce, & Ferdinand "Nan" Hester were other members of that town or nearby that migrated with them all grandfathers past....
Awesome! I live about a mile from Bibbville rd ride my bike down it all the time.
Nice vid... Got any info about Charles Jefferson Stewart and their haunted house???
theres a cemetery just south of bibbville down here in West Blocton where a father is buried beside 7 stillborn/days old babies.
Blocton or West Blocton?
@@MotoGiant West Blocton. Mt. Carmel Cemetery
For all I know you've already done videos, but if not . Research Belle Ellen, Coleanor, and Boothton
@@Alabamaredneck Belle Ellen is in the bag, just have to edit it, Coleanor is behind a gate, and I will look at Boothton - thanks for the tips!!
There are ancient graveyards in Ashland Al. That are full of baby graves. Childbirth was a risky proposition back then
I grew up most of my life on this road, I still have family that live there
Keep up the good work!
I don't live far from this! Going to have to check it out this summer!!!
I would love to join you on these adventures
In that era any place in the country was a rough place by today's standard.
I thought this said BubbaVille LOL. You can tell a lot about a community from it's cemetery.
Ya know it is Alabama? :)
As I am from Woodstock, Bibbville is very much not a ghost town. Many homes and family’s live in this area.
Certainly, Woodstock is less than 2 miles away, and there is a Mercedes factory closer than that. The town of Bibbville no longer exist. The community still has people living there with an address of Vance or Woodstock - right?
Moto Giant I do believe that is the addresses. Although, to the area it is Bibbville. It is also listed as such on maps. Very interesting about the train robbery. I have not heard of this before.
@@janetfeltman4502 Lots of communities live on long after the town disappears. Many folks associate with the community rather than the town, long after the buildings collapse, the railroad no longer stops, and the post office move to the bigger town. The passenger train discontinued stops at Bibbville shortly after the robbery - do you wonder why? :)
Moto Giant not really, because I never knew it did. 😄. I do know that when my parents owned Woodstock Grocery, we had a small depot behind the store. Which was also behind the old post office.
