I wish I practiced guitar instead of basketball while I was young. I guess it being 5’6” I didn’t make a wise choice. I appreciate your help, it’s taking time but I am really enjoying trying to learn, and you are not only a beautiful artist but also a great teacher. Thank you.

Thanks so much Joe! Super kind words! I got cut from the basketball team when I was 16, and turned to guitar. I never looked back:). Keep at it!

I know I’m a year late to the convo but I’m also a former child athlete who peaked in about 5th grade, 😂 my sister ran away to follow the Grateful Dead and about a year later came home with a bunch of bootleg live tapes. I listened to the song Loser and Jerry just let loose on the solo. My journey began. Thanks for the lessons, I don’t always comment but I always appreciate and learn from them!

Beautiful. Curious what amp you're playing out of and EQ settings you go with with a guitar like that

Thanks Ryan! I believe I was playing direct through the Line 6 Helix with the Derailed Ingrid amp model and a touch of reverb. No EQ settings but likely a hard hi-cut on the speaker cabinet model. This guitar is pretty bassy, and I usually have the bass on an amp dialed down. Thanks for watching!

This is great! At the 9 min mark, I am trying to get down exactly what you are doing, it looks like E shape D chord arpeggio>C shape A chord arpeggio>C shape G chord arpeggio? Or are you constantly playing the D chord arpeggio and moving down the neck for that entire chord progression?

Thanks Matt! I wish they allowed videos in the replies, I'd make a quick video to explain, easier than writing it out, but yes, you've got the right idea: Echord shaped arpeggio in D (10th fret low E string 2nd finger), Cchord shaped arpeggio in A (12th fret A string 4th finger), and Cchord shaped arpeggio in G (10th fret A string 4th finger). I'm switching the arpeggio from D to A to G, as the chord progressions moves over those chords. Hope this helps, thanks for watching!
