There is just not a bad sound on this pedal. It sounds freaken phenomenal!
I just got one of these, it's my first Fuzz pedal in 35 years of playing. I was never into Fuzz before but this thing has converted me, it kicks major ass! Fu Manchu style Stoner Rock riffs come out effortlessly with this pedal, gets the perfect balance of "Wool & Velcro" while still having some clarity, really glad I bought it!
The way Keeley explained this pedal, I don't think you select between silicon and germanium. They are all always on and in-line like a tone-bender. The bias is just exactly that, a voltage bias control starving the transistors causing them to lose headroom and also start gating.
I thought I was starting to understand pedals until I read this comment.
This is such a horrible way to describe pedals but people liked the comment because it's so well thought out "How to confuse a potential buyer" 😂
@@Chad-gg9kh if you put an almost dead 9 volt battery in a fuzz, you get a velcro gated sound like you hear above. this is true for all fuzzes. silicon isn't velcro-y and doesn't sound gated normally, you have to reduce the amount of power going into the transistors whether it's Si or Ge
silicon sounds brighter and harsher, tighter bottom end and cuts through a mix better, but it's not gated and velcro-y
I don't use fuzz myself but I love the worlds Hendrix explored in the medium of fuzz.

Anyone else getting major radiohead vibes from this demo? Absolutely sick demo, got to be arguably one of the best demos of anything I've seen!! And I would definitely buy one off the back of this demo!!
I have a fuzzbender and one thing I have to say is, it's important to get this pedal in the right position in your chain. It will sound thin regardless of settings if you don't. This is evident if you have a clean channel so as Tabs says, start of with some grit either from your amp and or an overdrive. ✌🙂
Fuzz always needs to be first in line right after the boost.
I have my fuzz bender right after my EHX Hot Wax overdrive and it sounds killer

I think demo’ing fuzz pedals is one of the hardest things to do it’s so easy to dial in bad sounds but finding kickass sweet spots takes talent this pedal has at least 2 that rock and that’s rare bravo long live the FRO!
I been trying all different types of fuzz pedals but just never could find the one that had that fuzz sound I had in my head or sounded like all the cool fuzz tones people get in iconic music. I found a fuzz bender used at guitar center and said ok I'll try one more but I'm sure it's gonna sound like the rest. Man was I so happy when I got home to play it. I could get all the fuzzy goodness I'd been trying to get. The keely fuzz bender kicks ass. I love being able to really make it sputter with the bias control. I usually keep the bias rolled left but when I want it to sound trashy it's right there. Absolutely great usable fuzz.
The Bias knob alone makes this worth checking out... Then the tone outta that thing makes it worth buying.

I think generally fuzzes sound really good into a somewhat dirty amp channel, and this certainly did. But I think maybe because this pedal can push so much volume, there was a point somewhere above 2 o'clock on the volume or fuzz control at which there was just no more headroom on the amp front end and it became so saturated that increasing it any farther just increased the amount of time it took for the sound to decay out of completely maximum squash. I kind of wonder how the top end of the range would sound into a cleaner amp.
I'm really thinking of ordering one of these, but I've already bought two pedals this week, one of them a Keeley too!
Seeing these new vids pop up in my feed is better than Christmas. After buying that keeley cavern pedal, I can’t wait to see Bea review more keeley stuff. His demos are flipping rad.
I've been on the fence in regards to this pedal and have watched every demo I could find. This was by far the best. Your feel for the gear in impressive. You've sold me on this pedal. My only concern is that I won't make it sound as great as you have.
97 bucks for a new one on reverb right now. I just got one. I've had about 20 fuzzes and this one seems to check most of the boxes that I'd want in one. Reminds me of the Spaceman Titan II and the MXR super badass fuzz rolled into one.
I live in Australia and this will cost heaps. I'm not rich..but... I WILL BUY THIS PEDAL. it will be my first fuzz. It's just perfect. And to think I wanted a carcosa.
Same. I live in Peru and the pedals are not cheap here. I was going to buy a Carcosa too but damn! this pedal is SO nasty!
@@hugocastillo5759 I think a Carcosa would be cool but they are similar in the way that each has a bias knob. I think the Keeley is alot better build component wise. The fuzz sounds more thicker, controllable and better on the ear for less cringey fuzz tones (sharpness). I'll defo get it.

This is a good video to show how different Fuzz pedals sound when using the bias knob to move from Germanium to silicon. Seems like this one can dial in a lot of different Fuzz sounds all in one pedal. Just freed up a spot on my board to add this one!

Been on the hunt for a fuzz pedal for a month or so now. I’ve watched countless videos trying to find the one that offers the most range of tones. I initially was going for a Thorpy Fallout cloud, which is amazing. But the bias knob on this has won me over. Excellent demonstration! This pedal is a beast.

@@ericclouatre9458 oh so many! It took me a lot of buying and selling pedals to decide what i wanted in a fuzz. The best I’ve tried have been the EHX rams head reissue, magnetic effects solar bender, and white atom and Thorpy field marshal and fallout cloud. Currently I have only the solar bender and fallout cloud on my board.

Great demo, man! It was apparent that you were really vibing with the pedal, and it was inspiring your creativity. I've had a Fuzz Bender on pre-order for a couple of weeks now, and I can't wait until it arrives!
Have listened to at least 100 other fuzz pedal demos... I keep coming back to this (and other) Fuzz Bender vids. The only other fuzz that comes close so far to me is the Thorpy Fx Fallout.

Loved how when u started dialing in your sound and started that dark little riff at the end. I have never had the cash to have a bunch, so I focus on 1 good multi effx like the ME-80. But I really like what u do with fuzz man. I will have to get into my stuff more and see what kind of fuzz I have to work with.

I LOVE Fuzz. Great sounding tweekable Fuzz! Sounded really great with Single coils, and SICK with Humbuckers! Way more dynamic than a lot of multi Fuzz boxes. Doesn’t have a super distinctive character, but can dial in metric shit ton of distinctive tones. Doesn’t seems to land on any crappy tones? I know this is late post, but this pedal has come down in price. Doesn’t seem to be getting the love...I’m curious?
It is difficult to get a single pedal to do everything this pedal seems to be doing? The EQ sounds great. Beetronics Royal Jelly (which I don’t own) has a 20db EQ, and seems to be able to dial in several great tones? The DOD Carcosa (which I do own) has this kind of range, but lacks the audio quality that this pedal seems to have. Plus, the Carcosa is pure Silicon...it doesn’t squish well.
Seems like it would be great studio tool as is, but would be an amazing live tool IF you could recall a dozen tones on the fly via midi? It seems like you could easily achieve several great dialed in sounds for different patches?

Another amazing pedal from Keeley and demo from you. Sounds great with that tele. I might check this pedal out. I do like my fender the pelt fuzz a lot but I like the sound of this pedal as well. Probably will end up with both I’m sure.

So guys, this Keeley Bender or the JHS Bender? 🤔 I understand this one lets you have more options of fuzz, whereas the JHS doesn’t allow you to do that, but which one recreates the Bender tone better?

Love Keeley and this pedal sounds dank as fuck but nothing will dethrown my JHS Muffuletta for fuzz, it has it all.
Im shopping for a fuzz. I was thinking of collecting a few cheep ones but this 1 would be a better deal. Its down to like 4 this one the whaler fuzz the giygas or the eons. Im leaning toward this one

Check out Jimmy Page's tone with a Tele and fuzz (?) on the Yardbirds '68 live album if you dig that combination (and if you dig that style of music).

Great vid, I'm always late to the party keeley pedals just always make great pedals. Loved this fuzz and that synth pedal Andertons on my way again!
Like me, it doesn't clean up well. I like it a lot. If I want a Fuzzface I'll use the Fuzz Head or something similar, but this is a different animal. Sounds great into Vox or "Vox-ish" amps. Suits my tastes.

Been through a ton of fuzz boxes over the years and can say the EHX Deluxe Big Muff is my favourite of them all and is fuzz mayhem !
That's a muff not a fuzz like this. I got 3 different muff type pedals and none do what my fuzz bender does. Totally different beast you should try it cause it's nothing like a muff.
@therover4141 yup youre totally right. Ive had multiple muffs, and i have a Death by Audio 'Fuzz war', and none of those pedals sound like my Fuzz bender. It is it's own animal
I got one because of this video, my hands automatically played Sabotage by beastie boys after i kicked it on. Its nice to have this distortion option. It lures creativity.
Hello Bea, great demo as usual with interestings tweaks of this beast. Me likey mucho the versatility of this pedal. The only thing I would know is how it cleans up when the guitar volume is lowered, tweaking the bias knob? Great fuzzes clean up well usually. Anyway thanks for sharing your good taste in music.

It cleans up in my experience, though I’m not the best by far when coming up with fuzz tones
Once again, I want to hear more sustain on a fuzz pedal demo ... it would seem I am alone in this area as the best shot of that sound is between settings when strings are left basically “open”! Then speeding around the fretboard. Finally, at the end, some notes were allowed to sustain; but it was through a delay or echo....whilst I was writing . Oh well, nice presentation and great pedal as far as I can tell. Fab job of demonstrating the pedal to us in the ethernet…

no, silicon is definitely not gated and velcro

How does it sound when you roll the guitar’s volume back to 5 or lower? Fuzz Face pedals get this great clean with a touch of dirt sound. I wonder if the Fuzz Bender does that. Maybe part 2?
