That copper one had my jaw on the flooooor same as Brad! The difference was stunning. She looked SO much better with the copper than the black and blond split. And those self-cut layers came out so good. I'm impressed. The technique may not be spot on but that was some witchcraft how her hair looked so pretty at the end. Good on her!
The transformation from dark-to-light hair has altered my life in ways I never knew possible. Brad, I just want you to know that while I was studying abroad in Asia I watched your videos all the time. One day I went to a local salon and they took me from a virgin level 5 to a 10, put rainbow prism hair color in (which was amazing!!!), and since moving back to the states have kept it at just platinum that makes my pale green eyes pop. The confidence boost that having a hair color that makes you feel good can't be explained. So thank you for your vids, your reactions on fails, tips, and just your work. I wish you nothing but good things!
I literally just spent the last 4 days removing 2 years of blue/black (I wanted the blackest hair possible) dye to go A natural brown. It took 2 rounds of color remover and 2 rounds of bleach to get it to a copper. Then dyed it back to brown. 😅 I actually watched like 50 of your videos during all these processes. Had minimal breakage and NO hot roots!! Thank you brad ❤
omg this is so long ago, but i just had to ask because i am wanting to go from black to light brown, did you rinse the color remover for 40+ min in the shower? and which color remover did u use? plsss lmk 🙏🏻🫶🏼 ty
Brad is absolutely the sole reason home dye jobs arent starting at their roots. Brad I've learned SO MUCH about doing my hair at home from you. Ive never recorded the changes but theyve been as successful as they were because i watched you!😁
2nd gal here - absolute DREAM to have you react to me!!!!! I did in fact say “if you don’t know what hot roots are, do you not watch Brad Mondo?” 😂 happy you at least approved of my spotty job and the copper did indeed save my ass LMAO p.s. so sorry to everyone offended by my bleach covered face and brushing of the freshly processed hair 🫣
Brad, I finally purchased your xmondo hair color and dyed the under side of my daughters hair. We used turquoise up at the roots and super purple from mid to ends. She absolutely loved it and her hair was soooo soft afterwards. We have more than enough left to do her hair multiple times. Loved these products.
Previous platinum blonde now growing my hair out because I’ve not seen my natural hair since I was a teen. I Still come back to these videos to live vicariously through others thank you for your content Brad ❤️
I have afro textured hair. The best thing I did was to divide my hair into sections and then bleach it for the same amount of time and use foils for the ends. I started with the back on one day, then do the front section last. It took ages but I lifted it to like a level 7 and went reddish pink. I now just use permanent color and I keep my hair copper red.
Personally when going dark to light ive always found it easier to apply from root to ends in the first round. The whole head processes, you get nice bright (hot) roots, and then in the second process all you have left to focus on is getting the mids and ends to match the roots. The one time I tried doing it the "right" way I ended up with the craziest banding that took ages to correct. If you're going all blonde I don't see the issue with "hot roots" because the whole point is your whole head should be lifting to that color anyway lol
I suspect that you're a natural talent. We see a lot of these videos with people trying to correct for hot roots (which is kind of your thing, except you're not correcting because it was planned) and they still end up with banding. Any special tips on your process?
@@celinahatton2653 Honestly ive always found it's so much harder touching up just roots (especially my own!) rather than getting a whole head of dark hair to a nice even blonde in like 2-3 sessions. Lol When you get hot roots it's so much easier to just avoid overlapping onto them by putting another round through the mids and ends. You can see, feel, and monitor those a lot better when you're doing it yourself. Also, when you're not a professional it's hard to know how high up before you stop on your mids to avoid hot roots. Go a little too far up bc it was hard to see and bam you've got a weird lighter yellow patch before the bleach as even touched your actual roots! Also, bc nobody at home uses foils correctly or at all, they get weird patchy spots from putting bleach through the mids and ends and then it like flops down onto ~rooty~ spots of your hair/head and makes weird patches. Basically, when you just bleach your whole head and get hot roots and you can actually *feel* your way around the mids and ends during round 2. Like imo it just requires slightly less precision (still be very careful ofc). I hope that makes sense! 😭
Every few months/years i come back to you and start binge watching a lot of videos because of how entertaining your personality is. Now i feel a strong urge to bleach my fresh hair again. Think im going to do it tonight or tomorrow.
This is what I learned from a well-known stylist to the stars - if you’re going 2 shades darker or lighter, go ahead and do your own hair color. If you’re doing anything dramatic, like dark brown/black to blonde or blonde to dark, see a professional. Also, it takes MULTIPLE sessions spaced out over weeks to bleach from black/dark brown to blonde.
When people can afford it and/or are very attached to keeping most of the length and health of their hair I agree. But I'm poor, not super attached, and enjoy doing my own hair, mainly bright colours. I know its not perfect but I can only afford and prefer to do it in my home not needing to interact with people and be polite.
@@MothCreature13Agree 100% I'm not attached to my hair, I just grow it and colour it and cut it as the mood strikes, and I don't have to pay a hairdresser $300 for the privilege of watching them butcher my wave pattern on top of it
I do my own hair and have only ever try pro or training 1 time each. The pro was to fix uneven color from my first time dyeing. The training was to try to recreate something that I had done before and a cut. The cut cute and the dye job was the worst I had ever had. So if I can't on my own I have a friend or family member do what I can't.
Not everyone can afford to go to a stylist. I'm on a limited income so I only get my hair done maybe once a year if not longer & that's normally by a family member.
All these bleach fail videos is the reason I had the balls to start doing my daughter's hair. & also the reason I have never messed up & we get so many compliments 😊 thx Brad!
I’ve learned 2 things from watching Brad’s videos. 1, just because people have watched brads videos meticulously, that does NOT mean they’ll do anything right. 2, professionals have practice which makes a difference with technique. A HUGE difference😊
Gotta say I’m loving that almost everyone going from dark to blonde ends up joining me in the ginger brigade. As a natural ginger being told in school that nobody likes a red head it’s funny that it’s these people trying to go blonde that are the ones ending up ginger. These video fails are majorly adding to our numbers 😂
I’m a natural redhead and every single stylist has always told me that so many people pay a lot of money to try to have hair like mine and fail of course
Those people telling you that we're probably jealous. My mom who's a brunette tried to dye her a natural ginger color, let's just say it didn't go well lol
It's funny because I was a natural blonde growing up and I got nothing but airhead comments, dumb blonde jokes and called Barbie. 🤦 My grandma(natural ginger) always got picked on to join fights. Like they were disappointed if she didn't want to fight or argue with them. It's lame. but I think red hair is super attractive! 👍
I'm so happy to have you in my life Brad! Took my hair from deep purple(your color brand) back to a beige blonde. No damage happened and I used toner correctly. I was worried but you helped me thru it!! ❤

Brad, I did this based on your videos and recommendations and got back my blonde hair in one bleach session plus toning. Even my hairdresser said that she can retire if a person can do this at home 😀

I did the butterfly cut on my hair last week following your tutorial. Took about 6 inches off and I absolutely loooooooove it! Thank you Brad Mondo!!!!
How is it you girls NEVER THINK to only do small pieces/sections at a time so you can control what's going on and SEE what might happen wihtout destroying your whole head????
Your videos always make me smile! I would love to see you do some demos on how to cut different types of mullets at home 🙃 I love the wolf cut and butterfly cut but like a true modern mullet would be super rad to see ☺️
Oo, Brad! The dark slate sides look so good. I think you could really rock a dark shade with silver highlights. I love your content! I've been watching years. It's really incredible how much you've accomplished. I can't wait to buy some XMondo products from Sally's. I'm so happy for you.
I have a story that shows it's really a small Brad world we're living in...A few days ago at work, this woman came in with a gorgeous haircut. She looked stunning. It was so beautiful I had to say something...😮 She thanked me and said she cut it herself. I said, wow, are you a hairdresser? And she replied, "No, I follow this guy Brad Mondo and this is his butterfly haircut." 💇 I laughed and aid, "I follow him too, and I'm planning to do his shag haircut!" 😮 We agreed that Brad is the best, and I am even more excited about shagging myself now 😂.
Wow Brad, the blue hair really makes your eyes pop. I'm currently rocking your amethyst color and I get lots of compliments on how it makes my green eyes pop.
You are absolutely makigb a difference, Brad! Ican thank you personally for helping me avoid trying to get my dark brown hair all the way to platinum for silver. i had some subtle highlights and lowlights put in by a *professional* and do *exactly* what she says *at all times*.
I come back and watch this video often because I absolutely love your temper tantrums and your reaction to the first girl's pretty copper color. One of my favorite videos for sure
Red or darker pinks are a fantastic fix for orange that doesn't seem to want to lift, or you daren't lift more as you want to keep your hair on your head. It still gives a fantastic bright, vibrant colour and looks fantastic.
I am a Curly Haired Queen who is currently on a hair lightening journey. It is being done by my hairdresser, doing multiple sessions with 20 volume. Sessions are separated by 6 weeks. Currently 2 sessions in and we haven't done my roots yet. They will be added to the process this next session. Plus, my curl pattern is holding strong. My Curls are looser, but not completely gone yet. Been doing lots of moisture and protein treatments in between bleaching sessions. Fingers crossed I get the outcome I want by my Birthday next month.😊
I have to say brads videos have helped me alot. I've also had some practice at this point with different hair . My bf told me he wanted to go platinum ngl I was nervous since he is like dark dark brown, but the way his hair came out is the best job I've done this far. I also gave his hair a 2 day intermission this time. But I also had a clean slate this time since he pretty much had Virgin hair as he shaved it a year ago. He looks like a Targaryen 😂
Hey Brad, UK watcher here, honestly, your facial expressions and mannerisms absolutely crack me up!! I love you so much. Currently watching all of your bleach videos while transitioning for dyed red, but natural chocolate brown, with ever increasing grey. I've done some clarifying shampoos, a colour stripper that didn't work, and my first application of bleach, so currently sitting at a bright orange, yay lol, with lots of K18 leave in treatments, ultimately I' like to be a mid to light brown with highlights to blend my grey, wish me luck!! ❤❤❤
I'm so glad for my kinda ashy blond hair. They change depending on how much sun I'm exposed to, but I'd never get my hair through bleaching just to get the color I have as my natural one.
Mt hair wouldn't look as good as it does without Brad. I'm so proud of my platinum blonde hair. My husband took over doing my roots, and he's doing ok!
I think the non uniform bleaching actually helps a dye job look more "natural" as normal hair is never one solid color. So the splotchiness actually helps create deeper tones and lighter tones that give the hair depth and dimension.
Does anyone else love Brad's blue hair as much as I do I love it so much his hair every single video I watch of him reacting to somebody else's video his hair is always a different color and whatever color he chooses it always looks amazing 🥰🤗
I learned my lesson doing this ten years ago. It was already so short from dying it, my whole head turned into spaghetti and I had to cut it down to a very very short blonde pixie. I stopped after that lol.
I have been obsessed with the idea of doing my hair blue since your last video but after all these bleach fail ones I'm scared to death to try lol. I've been dying my hair dark red for the past 30ish years thanks to going premature grey at a fairly young age ....first greys were noticed by my sister when I was 17 :/. I think if I get brave enough to go blue I'll get it done professionally, that's if my hubby doesn't freak out at the idea lol
I started going grey at 16 and I am now 30 and fully grey. 😅😅 I did the dark red until 2 years ago then grew the grey out and do it with semi permanent blue (it doesn’t stick to natural grey) so I just change my colour all the time. If you want blue! Do it!!
Good idea re professional especially since you've decades of colouring it darker and red. If you want to try out a bright colour without fully committing to it, have you colourist dye a block or long strip (forehead to crown) right under the very top layer. That way you can control how much of it is seen: part it with the top layer covering it for just a peek of colour or part it in the coloured strip so the bright colour is on top. This way you don't have to worry about the roots as much because the top layer will cover the roots when it begins to grow out.
@@katvb4550 Sounds like we both went through pretty much the same thing with the hair....though by now I'm way past 30 lol. I'm not sure I'm brave enough to let it all grow out and be completely grey before coloring again (in my head I'm still 25 lol) but that might be the best case scenario for changing it!
@@janedyck8852 my pleasure. I did it for years with a bright pink or red (both fade to a cotton candy pink). It looks more mature than all over bright colour and bosses don't have a problem with it like they can with all over colour, I've found. I only had a professional do it once then I dyed it myself afterwards. It was easy to follow what she did. And since the roots aren't showing its ok to not get it perfectly there. I even dyed my white poodles ears bright pink when I did my own lol. (It was manic panic so safe for dogs. I have naturally light dirty blonde, high porosity hair so even temporary or "washout" colour behaves as permanent dye with mine.)
Their results were much better than I thought.. But because Mr. X gets me anxious too. 😉 I need to loik into red/Cherry hair videos for dark brown natural Hair colors.
These videos scared me enough to send me to a salon to gradually work on lightening my black box dyed hair. It's been once a month since April and I'm still brassy af, but now also broke 😢😂🤡
I've been there a few times lol. Jet black box dye over platinum blonde, gradually back to platinum. The in between months are rough, going around with that yucky copper colour. Worth it in the end tho.
I just went from a medium green to natural medium blonde in 2 weeks. I kept brad Mondo's tips in mind and somehow didn't kill my hair! Woohoo. I did kill the ends but i was do for a hair cut anyway so took an inch off :3 made it back to natural blonde just in time for engagement photoshoot

ma’am? whose daughter is in my house right now? im 22 😂
Your videos always make me smile! I would love to see you do some demos on how to cut different types of mullets at home 🙃 I love the wolf cut and butterfly cut but like a true modern mullet would be super rad to see ☺️
Absolutely love the bleach fail vids they are always amazing lol I hope u are having a great day Brad❤❤❤
This hair on Brad is probably my favourite yet!
Oo, Brad! The dark slate sides look so good. I think you could really rock a dark shade with silver highlights.
I love your content! I've been watching years. It's really incredible how much you've accomplished.
I can't wait to buy some XMondo products from Sally's. I'm so happy for you.
Spent the whole day watching Brad Mondo videos. So it was so great to end the day with a new one!!
The heating pad wins, she's so humble 🙌❤🎉🎉🎉
The blue moment is still a moment I am loving!!! You look so good with that blue hair
I have a story that shows it's really a small Brad world we're living in...A few days ago at work, this woman came in with a gorgeous haircut. She looked stunning. It was so beautiful I had to say something...😮
She thanked me and said she cut it herself.
Brad being STUNNING for days. Living 🩷
Yaaaass I love these videos thank you for always finding these videos for our entertainment 😊❤
The red color looks so good and I love the definition ( caused by her different tones of blonde/ orange) . She slayed
nothing sounds better than a, “hi beautiful” from Brad.
It always makes my day when Brad uploads
Obsessed with watching your reaction videos!😂❤
I come back and watch this video often because I absolutely love your temper tantrums and your reaction to the first girl's pretty copper color. One of my favorite videos for sure
Am I the only one that likes light to dark ombré? I know it’s like a hair rule but I think it can look so cute sometimes
the copper hair girl omng! it turned out looking really decent. not perfect, but good enough! I was honestly very very surprised! yaaaassss queen!
The money piece chick was a great reminder that, "behind most every badd b*tch is a hot mess"😌😌✨✨👏👏
Good luck 🍀🍀🍀🍀
Good luck and happy birthday in advance! 🎉
I love her eye liner wing shape and the hair turned out so cute.. i think it will look great when her roots come in
I have to say brads videos have helped me alot.
It’s yellow babes
I think the non uniform bleaching actually helps a dye job look more "natural" as normal hair is never one solid color. So the splotchiness actually helps create deeper tones and lighter tones that give the hair depth and dimension.
No
Does anyone else love Brad's blue hair as much as I do I love it so much his hair every single video I watch of him reacting to somebody else's video his hair is always a different color and whatever color he chooses it always looks amazing 🥰🤗
Another amazing video! Love you Brad! ❤
I was struck by such a severe snap back to reality when you interacted with your wall and the illusion of a boundless white void was broken 😂😂
I laughed so hard with that second girl. I was rolling all over the bed in hysterical laughter
That super blue looks gorge! I have zero fear when I colour my hair, because I've had a shaved head many times, it's so freeing
watching brad always make me feel like a bad bitch especially when he says hi beautiful 💜 I loveeee bleach fails 🖤
I’ve literally been binge watching you for the last week
I learned my lesson doing this ten years ago. It was already so short from dying it, my whole head turned into spaghetti and I had to cut it down to a very very short blonde pixie. I stopped after that lol.
Last one.. nope...Brad..you are such a sweetheart with everyone...I just couldn't do it.
The way these girls are letting the bleach sit on their skin is high key giving me anxiety 😭
Fr once some went on my shirt and I didn’t think it would do anything cause it’s hair bleach then I had the biggest orange stain on my shirt 😭
brad mondo single handly saving all the DIY hair girlies❤
@@tuttyfat That's actually a great idea, I hadn't thought of that. It's definitely something to consider! Thanks!
But your hair will become more beautiful instead of worse. And you won't go bald or have to cut your hair heavily because it breaks off. Good luck 🍀🍀
I've been there a few times lol. Jet black box dye over platinum blonde, gradually back to platinum. The in between months are rough, going around with that yucky copper colour. Worth it in the end tho.
Oh and yes it's expensive!!
Just a random compliment, I love the playful blue /dark/short on the sides hairdo on you, Brad.
I know it’s schadenfreude but I love watching these fails videos! 🤷🏼♀️ It is an excellent reminder for me to leave my hair to the pros.
The girl with the copper hair looked so good ! I was shook 😍
A good idea would be for Brad to FaceTime/Zoom someone wanting to bleach their hair & walk them through it!! Random thought, I’d LOVE to see it!
Wow! The copper girls hair is amazing! Well done 🔥
Hi Brad, I wanted to say thank you for all that you do for the hair community and us amateurs that try to not burn our hair off lol. 😅 😂❤❤❤
I miss being white blond, but my hair is so healthy now I will never destroy it again.
Brad, I worked a shift tonight with this adorable old woman who kept mentioning your name, she adores you and your show and wishes you had a spot on television!
Hey Brad! Hope you're doing well. Glad to catch this so early maybe you will actually see this you beautiful, sassy, talented man. 😽
It's so cool getting to watch a video you made only an hour ago! I'm still watching videos that were years ago 😅
Having just gone from box dye black to blonde over the last few months….I can honestly say, I miss my black hair. I’ve had to cut half of it off, it’s absolutely shot at. Don’t do it.
Gotta thank my RUclips going random when I fell asleep and woke up to you and was and still is loving your content
