Doesn't he also do those "lingering shots" where the camera stays at its place while the characters go off/long and come back again? Don't know the exact nomenclature but it was the foot massage scene in pulp fiction where I saw it first
Great video. Definitely, has me thinking. Tarantino also has a lof of barefoot female foot shots as well since he, like myself has a foot fetish. Might be something fellow filmmakers want to look into as well. Just saying... lmaoooo
I really liked the video it was very informative but here is some critics; i mean to simply copy the style of one famous director is not the thing upcoming directors should do. As I said the video was perfect at explaining how to do these shots but I think it is important to say that one should not simply do a god view extreme high level shot just becaus tarantino does this The thing is with these big directors, every specific shot has a meaning and a specific sense to it. When tarantino chooses to follow a person from behind, than he does not do it to simply bring him from one place to another. There 1 million ways to do this. He could jumpcut, follow him from the front, follow him from the back with a steadycam or dolly, simply put the camera on a tripod and have a shot without movement, but he specifically chooses to follow the character from behind. I think the key here is to understand why the director does this. Then we can talk about using shots that are tarantino stlye. If upcoming Directors watch such videos, do not get me wrong, i really liked the video, its just that they forget about the key aspect of filmmaking. FIlmmaking and directing is not about imitating the person you love. It is about telling the story that burns in your mind, that wants to get out there and wants to be told. Filmmaking is about finding the perfect shot for each and every moment. Once again do not get me wrong. I am not saying that you shall not use a tarantino shot i mean tarantino himself says that he stealing from famous people, but again. One shall not use a shot because tarantino uses it. If one sees a shot that tarantino uses a lot and it really fits to a moment in his work because in underlines the told and then he uses it. That is what I try to explain. I hope you do not get that wrong, I just wanted to say this. I really like your videos, Keep up the great work man. Always hustle and stay creative
I think this could be a great series to do with other directors 👊🏻
Trust Me, I was gonna comment saying the same thing.🙌
I like the idea, Duncan! Might just have to
Quentin Tarantino, Robert Rodriguez, & many other greats
Denis Villeneuve
Why didn’t we discuss why Tarantino likes foot shots?
You have to have a foot fetish like Tarantino to truly appreciate his love of close ups of the female foot...😂
There’s also the 360 shots and the table-two shots (basically two people sitting across to each other on the table)
Buenísimo!
excellent i subscribe
Kellan, I like how you gave examples of these shots being used by both QT and yourself. Nice work!
Thanks, Kai!
This was great. Great analysis. You hit in great points
That helped a lot. Have some 🥧on me. Great video....

Yes good note!
What kind of device could I use for the Gods Eye view? Something hanging on the ceiling?
I'd argue these are all quite generic camera moves.
Great to learn about QT's tricks- His style is recognizable but I hadn't been able to identify them so specifically until your video. #Zack
Haha #zack
The only thing I need to do to film like Tarantino is film women’s feet. 🤣🤣
Thanks Kellan. My favorite are the Object and Close Up shots.
how do u do the quick zoom without having to chagne apeture and also getting that subtle shake at the end
loved it .. I wish I can meet Tarantino
He's impressive.
The “Sergio Leone” extreme close up
Another one. Feet shot. He likes feet very much
2:37 Tarantino uses foot shots because he has a foot fetish, like not even joking look it up

For sure!
These are not "Tarantino Shot" This shots been there before Tarantino! 60's, 70's, 80's cinema. :))
He's definitely inspired by a lot of those earlier eras!
Kellan Reck yeap :)
