OK. So we’ve seen ALL Quentin Tarantino interviews available on the internet. And here are the 20 most valuable, most controversial, most inspiring things Tarantino ever said. You don’t have to watch 100 hours of footage, you just need to watch this 20 minute video and you’ll learn everything Quentin Tarantino is all about. ENJOY!
    1. Be a conductor of audience’s emotions.
    2. Write your screenplay for the reader.
    3. The only responsibility you have is to be true to your characters.
    4. As a writer/director it’s your only job to have a vision.
    5. Make it personal enough so you feel embarrassed to share it.
    6. If you truly love cinema, you can’t make a bad movie.
    7. Have fun with your writing.
    8. It’s about the character first.
    9. Read your script out loud to your friends.
    10. Carefully craft your character, then let them lead you.
    11. A story is something that constantly unfolds.
    12. Treat suspense like a rubber band. The longer it can stretch the more suspenseful it is.
    13. Give your characters moral choices to make and consequences based on their decisions.
    14. Develop your own writing process that’s enjoyable for you.
    15. Put clues to certain backstories and let each audience member decide what it means for them.
    16. Make your script work as a piece of art on its own.
    17. Make your own movies - that is your film school.
    18. Rule out morality to have interesting characters.
    19. The only way to get successful is by making a kick-ass movie.
    20. Retire at the top of your game.

When QT is talking about how Aldo The Apache having the rope burn scar around his neck, when I 1st seen Inglorious Basterds and that scene, I immediately thought of 'Hang Em High" and in my imagination, I had my own scenario of how Aldo got it! The fact QT didn't ever tell us how or really even hint as to how he got it, is truly why I love his style! Its his movie, but he lets us make it our own personal, intimate film alongside him as well!

I love his idea of creating these characters and letting the dialogue flow from them. I find as a writer it's easier said than done, but if you put enough time in creating characters it should be doable.

Quentin says he would consider making his last movie be a Kill Bill 3, but the movie that I really would like him to make before he retires from filmmaking is…what becomes of Jules after he had his revelation to change and no longer be an assassin. I know, the TV show Barry kind of tired to show something similar, but we have no idea what direction Jules might go, outside of the first thing that popped into his head when asked, that he would walk the earth like Caine in Kung Fu. But would he really? There’s always a gravity-like pull that happens when people try to break out of their habits. But that doesn’t have to result specifically in being tempted to continue assassinating people. Not unless, maybe, he kind of “psychologically assassinates” them. 28 ish years later, I’m still rooting for Jules and I’d be curious to learn what became of him…truthfully, much more than I’m curious to know what became of the bride and/or her daughter. (Though I have to believe that if QT really wants to make that film that he’ll likely take it in a direction which I’m not imagining).

Brad Pitt has a rope burn that isn't explained in that movie because while Quentin was writing it he watched Hang Em High with Clint Eastwood from 1973 and copied that like he always copies stuff. It's why I'm not a bit fan. I like the first 2 movies a lot, That's about it, No characters do not "come from inside him". Nor do his stories. They come from other movies. he's good at dialog, period

I want my first movie to be totally void of as many of the "rules" to making a great movie as I can leave out, but I gotta learn the "rules" first so that I know what not to do and so that no one can call me the dumbass who doesn't know what he's doing!!! I'm autistic so of course I'm going to do it totally different than most people would!!!!!!!
