I grew up in Pensacola then left in the 90’s after HS and then returned in the early 2000’s and then left again about 5 years ago. Now I’m stuck in SoCal. I miss having a beach where the sand is white and and the water is NOT freezing.
We moved from SoCal to FL in 2004. No beach in Cali can compare to FL beaches! I love love love FL beaches. We live in C FL (St Cloud) I think I’ve been to almost all the beaches around the whole state and down to the keys. I would never trade to go back to SoCal. (Although I do miss the food choices in Cali

Amen to this! I live in So Cal and me and my wife were just in Miami for a few days and the beach was amazing and the water was warm! The water here in SO CAL is freezing and you always need a wet suit to swim lol
We love our beaches here. You cannot drive anywhere without seeing water;the sound, the bay, the Gulf of Mexico! So relaxing!

As a Panama City resident, I will say it was a bad spring for wildfires and tornadoes in the area. We do have nice beaches though....and traffic....
Back in 1969 and 1970 I lived in Brandon, FL and loved going to Lithia Springs. It was a great place to spend the day. You could swim and drink the water at the same time. You probably still can…
Thanks for sharing glad yall made it out of all that safely! Weather can be fickle for sure we had tornado warnings last night with hail... I was freaking a little about our home and trailer being trashed. Stay safe hope your travels continue to go smooth! We also made it through with no damage!

You two are amazing volleyball players!! Love the braces there….did you hear the sand squeak?and the water….it’s all just too much eye candy! Glad the storms didn’t affect you too much! We had 3 tornado warnings in that region while we were there in March. I feel ya!

I live in P'cola, about 20 mins from the beach and I LOVE my city!!! Oh and those storms, yeah they happen allll the time here; we mostly just laugh at all the warnings cause it's so frequent, lol.

I lived in Destin for five years and absolutely loved it. Water is super warm end of start of June till November 🙌
weather is the most worry some for those of us that live full time in a RV.... stay safe guys

Use the RV parks bath house if they have one. They are usually concrete. Even your 3/4 ton truck is better than your trailer and you can be ready to drive away if necessary.
Unfortunately they didn’t have any facilities. Just our hookups! But that’s what we would have done 👍🏼
LMAO! Love the take on our hometown. I've heard a lot of people freak over the years due to our storms. I guess it's a true testament to what you can get used to and camouflage it under NORMAL, lol. Us locals have to wade through the rich and ignorant in order to enjoy our beaches as well. Looks like yall still had a good time. Rock on. Peace, One Love One Light!

My sister lives in Destin, and I follow several adventure travel channels (mostly by boat though) which is probably why RUclips recommended this video to me. Destin is a great place, very fun. Happy travels to you.
I'm from Fort Walton Beach Destin. Married an airforce girl and had to move to Colorado Springs a few years ago and now we have to go to California for a few years before we can retire back in Florida. We miss it so much.

Tripped across this Vid. Best part of Florida. My two kids are stationed at Eglin AFB. I grew up in SoCal in the 60s and 70s. I would never ever to back there best beaches ever. Looking at moving there

We love the Emerald Coast RV resort in Panama City Beach. Headed there next week to enjoy the beach. Love this area of Fl. We met y’all in St Augustine last year. Safe travels.
I live in Gulf Breeze. I’ve lived in Florida a total of 31 years (15 years in Jacksonville & St. Augustine & 16 years in Gulf Breeze) and the Emerald Coast beaches are by far the best beaches I’ve ever seen. We do get some wicked weather here, though. And it’s pretty much ground zero for hurricanes. Glad y’all made it through the storms safely. Great video! 👍🏻

That part of Florida is definitely fun, but the storms while being in a travel trailer can be a little nerve racking. Great video and can’t wait for more. Safe travels.

The Dolphins actually live here in Destin Harbor Year round! There's all kinda different boat. Charters In town too. It's a fishing village at its heart , but it's also so much more!! Thanks for visiting our home and making this wonderful video about it!!

That storm you experienced in April was one of MANY so far this spring and summer. We had a pretty mild winter, but plenty of weather alerts in the middle of the night, the past few months, as you experienced. It's almost freaky how often ugly storms roll through in the midnight to 3am range. It definitely has me concerned about hurricane season, which just started. You certainly got in some "chamber of commerce" days while you were here...if only they were all that nice.
We moved to the Emerald Coast for the beaches. Really well done video. Been here for a bit now and you can start to take advantage of how insane the beaches are here. We live about a minute off the water (that minute saves a ton in insurance!) I’d argue best in America, let alone Florida. Thanks for the reminder!
I live in fort Walton Beach FL. I always tell people to go out onto the pier behind angler's on Okaloosa island around 9am and wait for the dolphins to swim by. It's so cool

My family and I built all the decking at the harbor walk like 15 years ago. I'm surprised it still looked that decent after all those years and constant traffick. Watching your video is making me home sick.

I live in Navarre. About 4 years ago, it was awesome…now it’s just way too crowded.
Our parks fill up very quickly- so each park is almost always “not guaranteed re-entry”. There’s multiple that will have a line a mile long at 8am. Absolutely love seeing my home from others perspective. 🦋
Yes Dayna. True, however, for all Dept. of Environmental Protection employees (we own and maintain all the state parks/springs) we always get free and guaranteed admission regardless of the existing # of guests. Just one of many perks for being a State govt. employee.

Camping with my family at St. Joe state park way back when was one of the reasons I moved to Florida back in 1987. Had been all around the state before settling in Sarasota. Fond memories of the panhandle.

We've been getting tornado warnings out on our end too. First time Tao and I thought it was a joke but nope serious situation for sure. Happy ou guys are all good in the hood. Can't wait to see ya'll!
Home town born and raised. All we ask is you dont trash our beaches and respect the natural beauty. Advice for tornadoes in an RV how about getting bike helmets . When you call a gas station your talking to a low wage employee just saying... Your better off watching a weather app on your phone.

as a local, we don't pay much attention to tornado watches/warnings. we don't have basements anywhere in the panhandle anyways. biggest concern is don't be anywhere close to a large tree in case it falls because of high winds.

Welcome to my neck of the woods. If you guys are in the area again, you need to go down 30A between Destin and Panama City Beach. Glad you guys were safe during the storm. I live 15 minutes North of Navarre and it got bad near my house.

Welcome to Florida other places you should check out are Morrison Springs in ponce de Leon about 1 hr north east of Destin. There are a lot of river and springs in area as well. Hope you enjoy your time! From a local born and raised.

You two are crazy to stay there with those severe warnings I was there years ago storm came in and blue all the RVs around beautiful place to visit when the weather is cooperating love your dance moves and your sense humor stay safe you didn't mention the price of gas while you were down there

Henderson state park beach is out of this world!! Next time you’re in the area look into The Hideaway Retreat Campground in Navarre it’s amazing!!

NEVER EVER EVER stay in your rig when tornadoes are possible. This is a recipe for serious injury or death. Be aware of the weather threats and move to a sturdy shelter well before the weather moves in. Inconvenient? Yes, but so is dying. Take these situations seriously in the southeast.

If you can plan your trip far enough in teh future, the Emerald Coast has some great State Parks with very reasonable rates. Grayton Beach and and Topsail Hill are a couple of my favorites. Enjoyed the video!

If you like warm water go in the gulf of mexico in the summer, its around 90 degrees it feels like bath water.

I used to live in Panama City Beach, definitely some of the best beaches around. We lived in a mobile home, so every hurricane warning sent us scrambling to find brick structures. Tornados and high winds, scares me even more now that I live in an RV. Glad you two were safe!

We just camped at Big Lagoon State Park (in Pensacola) for $22 a night! The sites are secluded, beautiful, had water and electricity but no sewer hookup and are not level.
Remember that most rV parks have shelters on site for campers.
