Moral of the story. You get punished for doing the right thing
I hate to say but it's a realistic lesson and that makes me sad
"No good deeds goes unpunished"
Especially in this day in age.
You're right. I did the honest and right thing many times when i was younger. I still got the hammer from my teachers, parents, and coaches. They just tell you those do those things, so it's easier to punish you.

Now then... are Darn Tough socks Darn Expensive for 1 pair of socks? Yes. Can you buy 1 pair of Darn Tough for cost it'd take to buy a 12 pack of Hane's or Dickie's? Yes.
Would you come out financially ahead by buying 1 expensive pair of socks that last who knows how long, compared to the socks that if you wear 3 days in a row **(** camping, manual laborers that come home to sleep, change their shirt and go back to work in 6 hours, motorcyclists that camp in their gear in the outdoors with no tent, or even just people backpacking **)** get holes in them under the ball of your foot? Waltuh, return the Cognac Waltuh.
Lol if someone fired me for someone else stealing my lawyer would have a field day good thing it’s just a tv show
I don’t think you would.
In the US anyway, in most states you can get fired for anything that’s not a protected class. It’s called At Will Employment I think.
So you could walk in one day, whistling, and your boss goes “I hate whistling, you’re fired”
And likewise if someone you know stole from the store the boss could fire you just cause they felt like having you be guilty by association
So the only things you can get fired over are protected reasons, like race, gender, sexuality, religion, nationality, I think transgenderism now
Some states pass specific laws, like a handful of states protect hair styles, but I think most still don’t
@@stevesmith1383you have a vastly incorrect understanding of the USA law system, what you just gave as an example is an unlawful termination.
UNDER 1 assumption! The company has more than 50 employees across all branches…. Under 50 they have pretty much free will to fire you for anything after 50, they have a whole lot of regulations they need to go through to fire someone 😂 (or face a unlawful termination suit)

Even if you return it you CAN be arrested for stealing or in this case your son. Returning it doesn't change the initial crime.

She sounds so chill in English. People, no matter your country, you need to hear Lois in Latin American Spanish...you will feel the chills when she gets mad.
Marked out of inventory and receiving the punishment? I'd be taking it back
Heisenberg came a long way😂
It would have been better to leave the bottle unopened. If no one noticed, you could have thanked the child and enjoyed the bottle.
However, if someone did notice, you should tell your boss that you had no idea about the situation. Apologize and return the bottle if he doesn't fire you on the spot.
Remember, it is important to always handle situations in a way that benefits you, as long as it does not cause significant harm to others. Unfortunately, many people are untrustworthy and will take any opportunity to take advantage of you.
This was one of my favorite shows when I was younger and it taught me one valuable lesson poor people always have the strongest morals and will always do the right things but they will always be punished for it.
whats walter doing?
Moral of the story, crime pays and honesty is meaningless.
$150 used to be a lot for a bottle 😂
No.
What am I not getting here. The kid stole. The parents took responsibility and returned the item.. she gets fired.
I know they are responsible for the kid but they aren't accomplishes to the crime right?
Sounds Iike a wrongful dismissed.
Yeah, they could've used it to teach the kid another valuable lesson, wrongful dismissal leads to lawsuits.
It's not like the kid stole a stick of gum. It's a bottle of alcohol, a big expensive one. One that he would have to have hidden to get out of the store. And it's been shown time and time again that Dewey and the others know that they're doing bad and they don't care.
Most store policies are against stealing and yes it still counts if a friend or relative does the stealing.
"But he brought it back!". After stealing it in the first place. And the store wrote it as a loss. So it's on her. If you steal clothes, it doesn't matter how nice of a condition you bring them back in, you still stole them.
If anything, depending on how aggressive she was in ripping his hairpiece off, Lois is the one getting sued here.
OK if my relative steals something from the store. I work for and brings it back. I should not be fired for it.
It's wrong, what the child did and he shouldn be punished for but not the mother. Okay .She was trying to fucking fix what He had done she brought it back condition explained the situation. She only got heated when she was told she was fired for something she did not do and tried to fix. She had every right to sit there and tear his f****** hairpiece off overlact.
@@theopalangel1342 There's a distinct difference in it being some random relative of yours shoplifting from a store you work at vs it being your child. As a parent, you are legally responsible for their actions until they're an adult
The irony is, Bryan Cranston would later buy a more expensive bottle of champagne in Breaking Bad 😂
The dad was so disappointed when she took the bottle 😂
Sue the store for giving a minor access to alcohol.
Lois is so dumb for not seeing this coming here. I understand she wanted to teach Dewey a lesson but come on it was obvious the prick boss was gonna use this
The funny thing is he isn't even wrong. That's SOP when you have inventory stolen. You can't just undo a crime committed by returning the goods. You might get away with it with a mom and pop shop but with a corporate store it's by the book. Also teaching your kids stealing is bad is literally a parents job. Even though it's in bad taste dude has a point.
@@baraki808she was literally teaching him stealing is bad. Why did you insinuate that she wasn’t doing her job as a parent when she literally did? When your moral high horse kicks you and breaks your leg😂😂
I hated her constant moral superiority so much, it never even bothered me when other people were shitty to her.
Tgis is why big corporations are nit considered people, and it is okay to shoplift from them
My mother taught me a saying “in this world no good deed goes unpunished”
This is basically California law now.
I could steal $950 worth of groceries in the morning, at 5am, at self-checkout, when literally nobody is watching or caring...but if by accident I forgot to pay for something and went back in, I might get put down on a list or in trouble.
Lois is a badass.
I never understood this guy's problem. Store policy says you can't steal, not your children. Lois should have sued or contacted corporate. She didn't do anything, in fact she did "the right thing"
Her overbearing personality back fired. She could have just punished dewey and poured it out.
Everyone missing the point that Lois is insufferable and the store was looking for an excuse to get rid of her. She was right when she said her boss hated her but she had herself to blame for that.
$150 bottle of cognac? Don't do it again, son, but we're not returning shit.

"No good deed goes unpunished" - Master Oogway
Yup. Once, after going shopping with our first born who was in the toddler seat of the cart for the first time, after putting all the paid groceries away, I noticed a bottle of mint syrup had somehow been hidden by a jacket just in a corner, near the baby.
I told my boyfriend and said he could wait in the car while I went to pay for it. He stopped me right in my tracks. Even though it was the right thing to do it was the wrong thing to do. The only thing that would achieve would be to have me registered as a thief by the store and the supermarket could absorb the cost so there was no point returning it.
Malcom in the middle is underrated
