"The rule cost him an injury" if hes legitimately hurt, sit. It was him wanting the award that caused him to push himself. "Its costing guys money" you get paid out your full amount of your contract as long as you dont breach contract, whether you play or not. You miss out on 40 mil but make how much in game checks while sitting on a bench? This isnt to disparage anyone whos hurt its just that rules were created as a response to whats been going on. Other players fucked it up for them not the reactionary change in rules

“The majority of the people are not happy about it”. I call B.S. the majority of the players are happy because performance incentives provides the TV corporations guarantees that the best players will play, which provides the money paying for all those big contracts. The people unhappy about it are the dozen or so players talented enough to be in the running for awards that don’t want to push themselves off season and on season to be able to stay healthy.

If 65 game rule was a factor in Embiid playing agaisnt Warriors, then he's got to be one of the most idiotic people in the world. He had already missed 12-13 games at that point. A bit less than half a season left or 37 games? Given those numbers and his injury history, it was a simple mathematical improbability that he would make it to 65 games at that point. Same with Haliburton. Don't whine about the rule when you already missed so many games and you are coming back from doing splits so chances are, he's gonna be out more games. That's a legit injury, which is very unfortunate but at the same time, none of that has anything to do with the new rules.
And if playing 65 games mattered that much to Embiid, maybe shouldn't have ducked the one against Nuggets? I don't put it past him that he sat out against Blazers right after that for good measure so he can claim the "injury" was legit. His mouthpieces on the media was surely running with it at the time. Anyway, you reap what you sow. Embiid dished out plenty of dirty plays to his opponents so not shedding any tears over what happened to him.

Acting like Embiid doesn't have a whole career of him missing half a season or entire season before the 65 game rule. I bet 65 was chosen simply because it was one less than the 66 Embiid had last season.

The money that Halliburton may miss out on is an extra incentive that never used to exist. So we're not talking about him missing out on a normal max contract, we're talking about a SPECIAL max contract.
