Was waiting waiting and waiting, finally saw this new video, nice one. Hare season is almost done here NS by the end of this month. Hope see more your awsome hunting videos. Cheers.
I got a nice hare the other day. It ran from me 4 times and got away so I walked off down the road. came back about 30 minutes later, heard something in the trees, look over and see him just sitting right on a log giving the perfect shot. Only had 10 minutes of shooting light left, it was such a thrill! Making some Rabbit bourguignon tomorrow
That’s awesome, great to hear the story! Glad you got it even after it ran away. That way of cooking it will do the rabbit justice forsure, it’ll be unreal. Hope you get out for some more👌
@@TheNorthLando I think it's just how they're made! But almost no one hunts them without a dog here. It's almost considered sacrilege to hunt anything without a dog actually. And to hunt most species requires access to a tracking dog.
Is there a certain time of day you prefer? What about weather? Sunny days right after a snow storm? Sometimes I struggle finding hares in spite of all the sign. I think crunchy snow spooks them out ahead of me before I can see them.
I’ve noticed that a few times, sound can jump them out early before you can even get close. I find walking at a super slow and non- aggressive pace helps them stick around. Sunny days are best, especially in March. They love sitting just outside of their holes and cover during the day to soak up the rays. When it’s cold and snowy I’ve found them laying underneath structures more frequently or even down inside their tunnels to escape the temps and adverse condition. The crappy days are still worth the hunt tho, just might not see as many!
Hi, I'm making a short film and I'd like to use some of your video footage in my film. Would you allow me to use some of the footage from your videos on youtube? My short film is for a contest in a film festival in Montreal and I have no budget to make it. Basically it's a story about a hunter who gets hunted and I would like to use about 4 sequences where we see the rabbit in the forest and one sequence where you manage to reach it. I guarantee you that I won't show your face. Do you agree?
yes a perfect hunt , dos not get any better than that !!!

I'm searching for snow hare hunting 🤗 finally I got you 'keep rock bro do some more boar hunting videos to .😍
What caliber are you using? Great hunt 👍
17hmr
17 HMR!
The hares we have here usually do not sit like this. They bolt as soon as you stop.
Strange, do they get lots of hunter pressure? They’re rarely hunted by people here, but lots of lynx and other predators.

Love the vids. In what area of northern Ontario are you hunting?
Thanks for the support! Hunting within the Thunder Bay District

What type of trails are you hunting on?
They’re just old logging roads that have young pine growth, I walk them till I find the condensed hare trails!
When does the season end in your area?
March 31st is the last day. Few years back you were able to hunt them till June 15th, but they changed the regs without any reasons in 2017.
@@TheNorthLando awe you going to get a few more videos out before the end of the season?
That would be awesome!!

What gun is that

Forsure, wouldn’t bother me if you used clips off the vid
@@TheNorthLando thk you very much
I see you don't have aan older brother. If you had, you would have been yelled at real young for laying your gun down in the snow.
Haha they’re in fine condition, a tool for the field that’s cleaned after every outing. They’re no stranger to snow
