Tauca Part II - Drum Cover by Jonah Glydewell

Alrighty boys, finally got a cover that’s not Dream Theater. Hypno5e is a small Avante-Garde Prog band from France. I have grown to love everything about them in the couple months and are now my second favorite band behind Dream Theater. This album was primarily core based with a lot of death metal stuck in there. This song was the outlier, being more somber until the climax. This is also the end of a two album story that’s know as the the Tauca Story. It being from France and no available lyrics for a full album, I have no fucking clue what it’s about.
Anyway, this is by far there easiest song and I picked it because I love this album but my feet aren’t that fast! Their drummer is an insanely talented fusion drummer and my feet are slugs compared to his Kangaroos.
This video is one of six covers I recorded in one day, (11/7/23) in order to commemorate this kit set up before I rearrange it again. This kit of course being both of Mike Portnoy’s side kits from 2001-2006. I built this upon hearing the news of Portnoy’s return to Dream Theater. (Hell yeah by the way).
One important fact, Hypno5e does not release versions of their songs as drum less tracks like Dream Theater does, so I had to turn down the original song to attempt to mask the drums.
All of the rights to this song and music I use are property to the original creators, In this case Hypno5e. I am using them under fair use in order to apply my own skills to them and recreate the original.
