I love watching the little boys work beside there dad. The world needs more of this.
Definitely!
I would cut that bush way down to about a foot tall. Give it some shrub fertilizer and hope for the best! I have done this with various bushes and have had success. If it survives keep it pruned as it grows.
I came here to say the same thing. It looks like it’s been a while since it was pruned back and for many kinds of bushes, the hard pruning keeps them healthy. You may need to pay extra attention to it during the hot weather though.
I'd do 2 feet if the lower is stable if not then 1 for sure
I was going to suggest the same!
🌳🌳🌳We have this type of shrub/bush on our property in Tucson. The branches are weak and seem to snap easily. Also, the greenery is only at the outer parts that get the most sunlight. I have tried pruning back the broken and dead limbs, but the bush just looks misshapen. As others have suggested, the best way to get it to regrow uniformly is to cut it back to the lower stronger limbs.🌱
My favorite part is at 5:13 or so, they’re talking and then all of a sudden she smiles at him and he kisses her. Y’all are just so sweet!
Hannah, you are truly blessed with the husband and children you have. May God always protect and keep you all safe.
The most hardworking person I know is Hannah! Her dedication to creating such amazing RUclips videos doesn't go UNNOTICED and it really pays off 💕. She puts her heart and soul into everything she does 🥰. Can't wait to watch!
And she never complains!!! Both she and Jaylen are such hard workers...very impressive.
She and Jaylen both! Impressive 💜
Yes! And all while being pregnant! 😮🙌🏼🙏🏼💕☺️
Awesome 👏🏾 It looks so lovely.
So wonderful to hear you got the rain you needed. Saskatchewan farmers need rain very much too. You did an awesome job fixing your patio up again. Love that you didn't change it.
Your boys are good helpers and well mannered. Your parental instruction and your love of God and family is obvious. God bless you and yours 💖
Best thing to do is trim your Bush back and remove all the branches that have been affected. This should allow the plant to recover.
Glad everyone was not hurt. You two are the hardest workers. Always getting things done.
What an enjoyable video this was to see on such a beautiful Saturday. What I liked most was seeing the little ones help you. It's such a refreshing sight to see,,, good work ethics being taught at such a young age. This is something I don't see much in other videos. Great job and great parenting.
Thank goodness no one was injured. Glad you were able to rebuild patio. Good job. A sail or sun shade would work until tree was big enough to shade. My neighbor made one out of a heavy canvas drop cloth and painted to make it waterproof. Lasted for years.
The patio area is lovely! You guys don’t waste time on anything . . . . your promptness is encouraging! I see the boys are helping out more and more. They are too cute! Blessings! Doris @ San Diego
Glad you put patio back, perfect the way it is. Hot tub is excellent idea, you have so many seating areas so love hot tub in that nook. You could hang a shade sail over it if needed.
Ya! You built the wall back the same! I LOVED that space before and I love it again! It looks so peaceful and a perfect place for morning coffee! Cut that bush all the way back or as far back as it takes to make it look nice and then give the appropriate fertilizer.
You could always do a temporary shade like an umbrella or shade sail until you can plant your tree.
What a sweet video! Seeing the boys help is adorable. It's so hard to lose a big beautiful tree, but you have done a great job rebuilding. The idea of transplanting the other tree is wonderful! I so enjoy watching the outdoor videos with such a different climate and terrain than ours ( Atlanta, Georgia) Thank you for sharing!
You could put up a sail shade temporarily, just for this summer...until you get the tree transplanted 💖
I put one up this year and love it :)
I was thinking that too
Re your damaged shrub, I have no special expertise but my dad was always willing to cut back rather brutally to achieve longer term plant health. So maybe consider cutting everything drooping or damaged and leave an upright, healthy core. The appropriate feeder treatment might also help.
You guys are working to get it all fixed up and I love what you have done.
Hannah you are such a positive person and have a sweet , calming spirit. I truly get Blessed from your videos.
Beautiful Job!
Hi Hannah-I just wanted you to know I have recently found your videos and after watching many of them you have inspired me to reorganize and de clutter our home. It wasn’t that bad but one can always clean out spaces and find things to throw away. Our daughters are married with families of their own so no children in the house but the grandchildren do come quite often. I enjoy keeping a clutter free home and you gave me the motivation to go through the entire house. I have bought many things you recommended for cleaning and organizing and I couldn’t be more pleased. My husband says thank you and I do too!😀
I would definitely put up some outdoor twinkle lights for the seating area ! That would be such a nice place to sit at 🌃.
You and your husband are just a blessing from god 💫❤ love your video's. Thanks Hannah ❤❤❤
Glad you built it back the same, I love it. A previous comment mentions a sail shade, I think that’s a great idea.
A good example of the calm after the storm. Thank you both for the peace this video projected in the clean up and restoration of the damage the storm caused. I look forward to spending this time with you every week! ❤
Something that would look so good would be to add a living wall/vertical garden type deal to the walls that you had to rebuild! It would make that corner feel more cozy cuz of all the green! And maybe you could get some herbs out of it or something :)
Oh my after one tree falling I would buy an umbrella…a pretty one and call it quits.😘
That was the best transformation. Loved it.
Beautiful hard working people God bless you all 💐🙏
Another enjoyable video. You & Jaylen did a great job on the patio restoration.
Wow! Amazing work! You cannot tell anything even happened. You two are amazing workers!!
I have a bush like that in my front yard (live in AZ too) and whenever it starts looking shabby I cut it almost to a stump and it grows back really well.
Both you and Jaylon are so passionate and dedicated to your work, such a quick turnaround after the storm damage. Also love the hibiscus you planted and by the way it is the national flower of Malaysia which is where I am from. 😊
Hi! As usual, you two are such a great team. One week it breaks, and a week later it's fixed and looking brand new. Over on the Wood Brain channel, Lindsay just made this sliding door that reminds me so much of your back patio walls. She made these neat little planter boxes to add some life to the door. I think adding some greenery like hers would give you that touch of green you miss seeing by not having the tree anymore. Just thought I would share.
Such good little helpers!
It looks awesome yall!😊
Beautiful videos as always. God's blessings on your family.
Jaylon is no slouch either! Both are such hard workers and have a beautiful home.
Love watching the boys working with their dad! You have soo much energy! Loved seeing your little pumpkin, gosh it won't be long before you get to hold that precious baby in your arms. You and Jayden have done such a wonderful job with your home. Blessings!!
It all looks great, I so glad you and your family weren’t hurt in the storm. Stay safe.
I love seeing your boys. You can tell your family is full of love.
The patio looks great!
Love your new patio decor😍
I still marvel at how you both have envisioned and transformed that house into your beautiful home. You not only have wonderful ideas but you work so hard to bring them to fruition..even the boys. Another Blessing that all the wall material was saved, especially with the high cost of lumber. Great job on the wall and the yard. 😘
Such a great video…great restoration ❤️❤️❤️
Morning Hannah I was thinking instead of that bush that got damaged from tree a real pretty Crape Mertle would look so nice there and they grow so nice in your area. Just a suggestion. TFS
Beautifully done ❤ Happy you, Jaelyn, and your kids got your yard and patio in order. You all are hardworking young people. So, thankful for your family. Have a blessed and fabulous summer ❤😊
Love the fact you used what you had already had before. Lumber prices are crazy…to throw it all away would have been insane. Your patio now has a story to tell. Enjoy a cup of coffee out there for me. ☕️🌵
That was a job. Just when you think what are we going to do for another project? bam right in your lap.Sorry about the tree. We had to have our beloved tree removed . It was like an old friend. It really shaded the whole house. I hope you can save the bush for a while. The patio turned out so nice. I am glad you could make it cozy. Your boys like to help their Dad. It is a good thing. Till next time....Joyce
I just love your family videos, so nice to see a couple and kids work so well together. Makes me smile. Bless you and yours.
So glad you were able to salvage so much of the wall. It looks beautiful :)
Sorry to hear about the damage the storm did,but oh my goodness Hannah ur baby bump is so cute,I’ve been so busy I haven’t been on you tube I think since u announced ur exciting news.. so enjoyed watching u guys again. A blessed day to y’all 🥰
The bush looks like cedar. You can cut it back and fertilize it. I would google what kind of fertilizer would be best to use. I love watching you and your family and all your videos! Your home looks great!
You guys did really 👍 good, it looks awesome 😎. The bush next to the porch needs to be trim a little in the spring time or fall. Add fertilizer and lots of water. I fertilize my trees in the fall, once a year but you can do it twice a year until it wakes up nicely.
Looks great! Maybe one of those triangle shaped canvas shade tarps overhead to help with shade?
Thats a very simple and cute patio. Definitely the tree needs to be moved! Great job!
You should put up rows of lights above your patio!:)
I love watching your baby bump grow. Love your patio, looks great
Hannah I am so glad you and your husband were able to rebuild your patio I just love that patio
The repaired patio looks lovely. I would maybe add some hanging plants or foliage to the walls to replace the tree you lost. Look forward to seeing the transplanted tree to this area in the fall.
Yes I want to add lots of greenery to this space on the walls etc. for us to see out our master bedroom door😊
Turned out so beautiful 😍
U could take pic of bush show Lowe's or nursery they will know what type of bush it is and tell y'all what 2 do for it. Or cut all damage off and water it often and should grow back like it was.
That's a good idea :)
Oh. Another idea. U could cut small piece off bush and take with u 2 show just in case they can't tell by pic what type of bush it is.
@@hannahshappyhome Thank u!
There is an app for plant identification.
Your boys are big helpers. Loved seeing how you rebuilt your patio wall. Have a blessed week!🌳🪴🙏🏻
I am scared of tall trees near the house. We have an avocado tree hanging over the back patio and I get scared when a big storm passes through here in Florida which is frequent now in the summertime.
Glad your patio is back together and all is safe, looks beautiful again.
Brilliant. Your diligence in addressing storm damage is appreciated. Thank you for seeing the positive in the midst of a lot of negative. 👏🏻
Wow Hannah and Jayden- great job repairing the seating area! I feel you with the loss of the tree- the shade and beautiful feeling it provided will be missed. But it’s a blessing you’re all safe. You’re bump is looking super sweet 💕So dear seeing the boys helping alongside dad-learning and chatting 🕊💕
You guys work really well together. I love seeing the boys helping out. I have a 10 year old and he loves to hang out with me and ride the lawnmower to mow our yard. They are only young once. There’s going to come a day when they move away and we will wish they were young again. Your house looks so good.
There is so many things I love about this video. I love the way you involve the boys in the work you do. They look so cute in their little cowboy boots and are learning so much by working with you and their Dad. I love the way you and your husband look at each other and smile. I love the way you decided to reuse what was damaged and rebuilt instead of creating waste. I love the way the area turned out. With regards to the squashed bush, i suggest simply cutting it back drastically and it should put out new growth next Spring. Also (and ignore me if you want lol), I think the area you have just repaired would look great with wooden joists strung across the top (you could attach them to a sturdy wooden joist attached to the wall of the house) to create a pergola effect. If you then planted something scented, such as a jasmine, honey suckle or clematis, it would give you more shade, more privacy, more greenery and interest, beautiful scent and just look incredibly stunning. It would also add to the privacy and feeling of romance when you have your hot tub installed there. Also, if the bush did not grow back, you could add some wires or trellis onto the wall behind it, plant the climbing plant there and it would cover the pergola and the wall where you lost the bush. Love to you and your beautiful family xxx
Patio has a brightness about it now. Glad you all are safe 💙💜💙💙
The place is looking wonderful. If you guys have a local extension office maybe check with them for tips on the bush. As always, thanks for sharing with us.
Greetings..very nice on the Bush trimmings.
Beautiful area!!
It is a simple patio, but you made it so homey and sweet with your touches! Can't wait for your next video!!! You ROCK.
Another great job!
Looks very nice!
The Lord is with you all.Stay bless♥️
I would just pull the bush, and plant something new there (:
Southern Indiana is watching.
What a blessing that the tree didn't fall the house. So glad that things turned out for the best. As someone mentioned below, I would cut the bush back and give it some fertilizer and maybe that will help. Since Arizona is getting a lot of rain this summer, no need to water it. By the way, Hannah, how are you feeling these days. Getting plenty of rest I hope.
So glad you were able to rebuild that area it is so nice.....perfect place to relax
Good video.
Your boys are great helpers.👍
Que bonito dejaron y limpio
You guys are so resilient!! I can't believe you've already got everything rebuilt after the disaster!! It looks just as good as new 😊♥️
Great job!!
Beautiful show 😍. Always excited to see the improvements with each episode.
Glad you guys were able to rebuild this! I loved the way it turned out 😍 Been trying to catch up on your whole renovation. You both have done an amazing job. Now, I just really want to steal all of your design ideas lol
Take a photo or several, remove a clipping and take everything to a nursery man or woman for the best advice.
I'm pretty sure you can use a glue like substance (black sealer that is used after trimming a tree branch), grafting material on each rip in the brush and then wrap each repair with green garden tape until each joint has healed. It would be a lille like grafting. Hope this helps.
Oh, if you trim it, it will have less pressure on the bush and more nutrients can go to repairing.
One more suggestion, an arborist could repair and trim the bush for you.
I didn’t know that was a bush. It looks like a fallen tree. Well, it looks like you may be at risk of getting roof rats. Common pest here in AZ with the bush being that big and so lose to the house. Trim the bush way down and just be careful how tall it gets and how close to your house it is. I’ve also noticed the active monsoon weather lately, I love the 🌧 but can do without the damaging wind. Last year, the monsoon was practically nonexistent. It seems Mother Nature is making up for lost weather! Lol We could always use the nourishment of rain here in AZ. Praises y’all are ok and blessings to your family.
Beautiful job as always. The bush by your master bedroom may need to be pruned back to allow it to grow.
I’m glad you were able to rebuild!! ❤️❤️
You both remind me of one of my favorite TV shows...Little House On The Prairie👍🙂 Your husband is a hardworking Charles Ingalls and you are right there working right beside him. You both know what has to be done...and you go for it with everything within you...without hesitation! I love it. Keep up the good work👍😊...Not sure how to spell your husband's name😉 I have 3 sons, but some people spell their names differently than the way I spell them😁 You All Take Care!🙏
So happy to see the new patio and that everyone was safe😊😍
Looks great.
Once again the patio area is beautifully done! You and your husband are very talented! I love your channel and look forward to every new video that comes out. Have a Blessed day! ❤️
You two (and boys) are the most hard-working family!! Amazing.
Do you have a wood chipper? That would come in handy.
It looks fantastic. Im so glad to see your boys helping out. They really were doing a good job.
You all work so well together. Did I see Jaylyn steal a kiss!! ❤️
Your small patio looks very nice. Thanks for sharing.
Yeah always work so hard together as a family which is so refreshing to see I wish more families work together and taught their children the how-to's in life have a safe week everything looks beautiful thanks for sharing
Nice job!!
The patio looks so calming.
It turns out beautiful 👍🏽 I know y’all grateful it didn’t ruin anything else in the house😃
