Top. Man Ty so. Much ours hasn't been changed in a while. I had no idea where it was and fell on your chanel and top info for reffernce there's no difference between this and the 2014 version for. Those wondering exact location. Tyagain
Would have loved if you'd also shown re-installing the filter. That was a real pain. Filter does come out (just) with the lines connected. But nearly damaged the lines trying to put it back in with them connected. Trick for me in the end was to disconnect the fuel lines from the filter, place the filter in the cradle and then reach around the back and reconnect them. Hope that helps someone else. It's a pretty fiddly job - be prepared to skin your knuckles a few times!
There is very little info on this but ran into the same trouble with priming the fuel filter as with other Kia/ Hyundai products with this R series motor without dealer serving tool. For DIYers you should prefill the filter throught the FEED line with clean diesel and a syringe before reinstalling in vehicle. This will mean you need about 500ml of diesel on hand. Remove the ENTIRE fuel filter mounting bracket, The bolts for this are not shown in this video and are hidden behind the wiring harness. It is 2x 10mm nuts undo this harness and move it out of the way then 3 10mm bolts hold the filter and bracket assembly to frame. its is very easy to remove this way and will not damage any components. Thanks.
I don’t think this is a 2015 Kia Sorento. They are “not serviceable” according to all the parts stores. They are in the fuel tank! You may have a split year? This is a great instructional video, but my 2015 Sorento fuel filter is in the tank!
What a good video and thanks for sharing. Especially liked your description on how to prime the system. Thanks from Melbourne , Australia
Thanks for the help brother. Cheers from South California.
Any time!
Helpful video mate! I'm on Sorento UM, shouldn't differ too much.
