probably sounds so cool because it lines up so well with the instrumental. i know NOTHING about music theory, but i do know that having at least similar patterns in the vocals to the instrumental makes the notes sound more intense or just generally have a bit of impact.
as a producer i can tell what is happening in here first off, it might feel more impactful due to how low the notes that tankman sings. second, that part is off pitch compared to the rest of the song, but in a good way aswell as, as others said. yes, his notes follow the instrumental
