I think this is an accurate representation of what would happen if during the more recent episodes of Madness Tricky would be pulled into FNF, He'd be confused, asking where is he, where is hank, and just having no idea of his situation, he can't just kill BF, he has to sing notes, he tries to use spikes but fails, so he starts to find ways to kill BF, queue the instakill arrows, stop signs, and little tricky minions all trying to make it impossible for you to continue
I *LOVE* how this mod made Tricky's ways so canon-like, he cheats, drags his own health bar ALL THE WAY UP, blinds you with a stop sign, it's just, damn it's just amazing.

If tricky has to ask in frustration "why can't I kill you" it can be confirmed that bf has more plot armor than any other character to ever exist in any series or game
By that I mean that Tricky was able to kill Hank, but then decided to revive him several times for the funsies. Tricky can't even get to the point where he revives BF, because he wasn't able to kill BF, even with his extremely powerful forms in Hellclown and Expurgation.

If Expurgation was made today it would be 11 minutes long and had sections with Hank, Sanford, The Auditor, some parts with GF and Tricky's clones and some lyrics that could or couldn't fit with Tricky at all.
Probably the best fnf song Ive ever heard, not only is it a banger and a half that also fits Tricky as a character perfectly but its also great in the charting and gimmicks, making an nailgrindingly hard song without resorting to the "lets just overchart the heck out of this cuz hard" that ive seen way too many fnf mods do.
There are a few that does some interesting things, like with the vs tree mod where the screen gets tilted, the charts gets moved about, and some other mods that has interesting gimmicks; but yeah, it's nice to see a song that does it's best not to resort to over charting.
It’s a nice detail that Tricky sounds panicked, like how he’s so used to being the one in control and being unstoppable until he comes upon someone who can just retry over and over again until Tricky is defeated.

Chara will just find anyone to fight even the one stronger than Chara themselves because Chara or Frisk can try over and over again. Tricky just wants to play and if Tricky lost he would not come back immediately but later. (I don't know if Tricky comes back immediately, i'm kinda new. But he doesn't look like he would because it doesn't show him coming back fast in any Madness Combat video i watch.)

My first introduction to MC was through this Mod, and I instantly fell in love with the series and its psychotic, reality bending antics. Sometimes it’s okay for people to get introduced to old things through new things, no need to gatekeep. Also this song fucking rules and I am impressed at the number of mechanics the devs introduced to keep this from feeling like another arrow spam mod.

His text lines in the game his left and down animations indicate either intense confusion or a manic depressive episode. And yes, the singing does indicate this. In your provided example, Garcello was very calm and even duetting at times in a slow but upbeat tune. In this song, while most is very aggressive, there are some slower moments that indicate either, again, confusion or sorrow, but that is up to the listener.
I actually love coming back to this I am actually convinced that expurgation is the best FNF mod song out there, at least as of right now, I just love everything about it
I really love how they wanted to make really hard songs that would challenge skilled players, and instead of just relying on making the song very fast or putting a lot of arrows, they decided to make a song where not only you need to press the arrows but also avoid certain ones, with the right amount and speed and not abusing of arrow spam, making it a song that complety relays on the player's skill, memorization capacity and reflexes, rewarding the player for understanding the patterns and avoiding the arrows that hurt/kill you, a type of gameplay that makes a satisfying and rewarding experience in which no matter how many times you lose, you always want to play it again and get better at it. I really think that this mod is the best thing the community has given to us until now.
I firmly believe this is the peak of Fnf. There are songs which sound better or look better, but this is the best a Fnf song can be without feeling more like a mod than Fnf.
My favorite part about this song other than just how powerful it sounds is the fact Tricky starts breaking the rules by forcing the meter in his favor even if Boyfriend hasn't missed any notes and blocking the arrows from view with the stop signs It really shows how he's fed up and doesn't want to deal with Boyfriend anymore, since he can't kill him unless he wins the rap battle, so he's trying to sabotage the battle so he can win even if it goes against how the game is "supposed" to function
I remember when Full-ass Tricky Mod came out and Hellclown was considered a ridiculously long (5+ minutes) stamina test. It was also the first mod to introduce gimmicks, and we were all freaking out about how awesome the damage notes were and how insanely hard Expurgation was with the insta-kill notes. I spent literal weeks trying to beat Expurgation, and when the day finally came, I completely lost my mind. I did absolutely terrible (65-70 ranking), but it was a huge deal to even finish it back then. Getting the Hellclown trophy and the Expurgation trophy on your menu was a badge of honor, and only the most dedicated or talented could earn it. Now, gimmicks are seen in almost every mod (to varying degrees of success) and 5-minute songs are the norm. Not only that, but I went back to Expurgation just recently and mopped the floor with that song. It's nuts to see the progression from then to now. Mods like Indie Cross and Imposter v4 are absolutely ridiculous, with songs requiring to never miss a note or forcing you to fight a goddamn Undertale boss while you hit notes. Then we have Termination from QT, which is probably the fairest unfair mod we have currently. That song is chart hell, but we've gotten to the point where chart hell is fun. It's like building up your spice tolerance. We have massive mods coming out left and right. Hypno's Lullaby, Doki Doki Takeover, and Mario's Madness v2 legit have 10+ songs to offer (even reaching the 20's sometimes), all of which are highly detailed and should legitimately cost money for the effort they have put in them. You also have songs that are cinematic masterpieces, like Libitina or Rumor. So many events occur that will entertain audiences, making them ride full blown emotional roller coasters as if they were watching a short film. On the other side, players are in maximum sweat mode, FCing the most unFC-able songs we can ever imagine. Matt was literally a joke mod back in the day, and now we have absolute machines FCing things like Sporting and even going as far as to PFC entire Dave and Bambi mods. It's genuinely impressive. This community is one of the more talented ones from what I've seen, and I'm honored to be a part of it even if a couple bad apples are seen here and there. We shouldn't judge the entire community off the minority; judge off the majority, of which are hard at work making revolutionary mods or completing charts that were meant to be 50/20 mode in the form of an FNF song. We've come a long way friends. Love you guys.

For anyone that doesn't know, in Expurgation you can make the little health gremlin go away early by spamming your keys, even if you don't have any notes there. You have to spam more the later you are into the song, and this doesn't work with the last gremlin. Hope this helps, and just make sure to not hit a death note!
@@Chillipeffer Don't spam when there's notes, and you only have to hit a few. The first gremlin only takes one or two notes to make it go away, but you have to do it the more the song goes on.
Note for the people who haven't beaten expurgation yet: You actually need to be at somewhat full health before 2:53 hits, because thats the moment where the tricky clone will drain your health to pixel health (not really tbh lol). If you're at only half health, he'll actually kill you, meaning you have to sacrifice your fingers again for another round of pain and suffering. This comment comes from a person who was confused why they died at the least part of the song despite not touching the black arrows

This track is how I've envisioned FNF Boss fights to be; Intense tracks, Gimmicks to mess with your health and completion rates, the boss distracting you to make you mess up, THIS is how it should be done if they have bosses in the Full-Ass Game version.
Much like in Madness Combat, Tricky may be a deranged, godlike zombie, but he still fights people to an equal extent. In Madness Combat, he actively gives the main characters weapons to fight him with, because he wants an equal fight. He could just spam fire and halo notes, but he doesn't. He gives boyfriend a chance to win.

God.. this song hella hit with nostalgia. I remember listening to it for hours straight without getting one bit bored of it during juin-july of 2021.. god these were some golden days. Remember when this was the best mod ? When this was the hardest yet best song ? When madness combat took over fnf ? Those. Those were some peak days. To this day this song still goes hard. Definitely one of the few songs that marked me the most alongside chaos from vs sonic.exe
"Why can't I kill?" Tricky is trying to kill you, but he can't, as the unwritten rules of the universe are revealed to him that bf can't be killed until you beat him in a rap battle. Realizing this, out of desperation, does anything to stop you. Notes that instantly cause you to lose, trying to pull your health bar down, signs blocking your notes and scroll. Of course, the renowned rapper could never falter as Tricky has a mental breakdown due to not being able to stop you, the immovable object.

You know what's pretty neat about this mod? This mod encourages players to not spam the 4 keys at the same time. Because otherwise in Hellclown, it'll be detrimental to losing what is essentially your health. And then here, in Expurgation, it's a straight up punishment, as it's instakill. It's amazing how crazy this mod has become, and even though I don't know much about Madness Combat, this seems like a true tribute. And this might have become my favorite song out of the Friday Night Funkin mods. I love how intense yet melancholic it feels. You can feel Tricky's pain and confusion. I can kinda hear that yea. Since you're not familiar with the series, expurgation takes place in a completely different plane and is way farther in the timeline then the other songs. (Assuming big tiky is where it's normally supposed to occur in the timeline rather then a random transformation) My theory is that past tricky was just suddenly thrust into the modern environment with these powers to rap battle the funky little man, which is why it has so many gimmicks in comparison to the other ones-- Tricky is really fuckin' confused and doesn't have a solid grasp on what he's capable of.

This song has a certain... Aura to it. Like, you can actually feel the themes of despair and confusion this thing emanates through it's melody and note progression fairly vividly (at least in my case). That kinda sends chills down my spine tbh.

Probably the best fnf song Ive ever heard, not only is it a banger and a half that also fits Tricky as a character perfectly but its also great in the charting and gimmicks, making an nailgrindingly hard song without resorting to the "lets just overchart the heck out of this cuz hard" that ive seen way too many fnf mods do.
There are a few that does some interesting things, like with the vs tree mod where the screen gets tilted, the charts gets moved about, and some other mods that has interesting gimmicks; but yeah, it's nice to see a song that does it's best not to resort to over charting.

Idk why people are assuming that Fnf fans wouldn’t like the Madness Combat series. My first introduction to MC was through this Mod, and I instantly fell in love with the series and its psychotic, reality bending antics.

His text lines in the game his left and down animations indicate either intense confusion or a manic depressive episode. And yes, the singing does indicate this. In your provided example, Garcello was very calm and even duetting at times in a slow but upbeat tune. In this song, while most is very aggressive, there are some slower moments that indicate either, again, confusion or sorrow, but that is up to the listener.

I am actually convinced that expurgation is the best FNF mod song out there, at least as of right now, I just love everything about it
I really love how they wanted to make really hard songs that would challenge skilled players, and instead of just relying on making the song very fast or putting a lot of arrows, they decided to make a song where not only you need to press the arrows but also avoid certain ones, with the right amount and speed and not abusing of arrow spam, making it a song that complety relays on the player's skill, memorization capacity and reflexes, rewarding the player for understanding the patterns and avoiding the arrows that hurt/kill you, a type of gameplay that makes a satisfying and rewarding experience in which no matter how many times you lose, you always want to play it again and get better at it.
I really think that this mod is the best thing the community has given to us until now.

My favorite part about this song other than just how powerful it sounds is the fact Tricky starts breaking the rules by forcing the meter in his favor even if Boyfriend hasn't missed any notes and blocking the arrows from view with the stop signs
It really shows how he's fed up and doesn't want to deal with Boyfriend anymore, since he can't kill him unless he wins the rap battle, so he's trying to sabotage the battle so he can win even if it goes against how the game is "supposed" to function

I remember when Full-ass Tricky Mod came out and Hellclown was considered a ridiculously long (5+ minutes) stamina test. It was also the first mod to introduce gimmicks, and we were all freaking out about how awesome the damage notes were and how insanely hard Expurgation was with the insta-kill notes.
I spent literal weeks trying to beat Expurgation, and when the day finally came, I completely lost my mind. I did absolutely terrible (65-70 ranking), but it was a huge deal to even finish it back then. Getting the Hellclown trophy and the Expurgation trophy on your menu was a badge of honor, and only the most dedicated or talented could earn it.
Now, gimmicks are seen in almost every mod (to varying degrees of success) and 5-minute songs are the norm. Not only that, but I went back to Expurgation just recently and mopped the floor with that song. It's nuts to see the progression from then to now. Mods like Indie Cross and Imposter v4 are absolutely ridiculous, with songs requiring to never miss a note or forcing you to fight a goddamn Undertale boss while you hit notes. Then we have Termination from QT, which is probably the fairest unfair mod we have currently. That song is chart hell, but we've gotten to the point where chart hell is fun. It's like building up your spice tolerance.
We have massive mods coming out left and right. Hypno's Lullaby, Doki Doki Takeover, and Mario's Madness v2 legit have 10+ songs to offer (even reaching the 20's sometimes), all of which are highly detailed and should legitimately cost money for the effort they have put in them.
You also have songs that are cinematic masterpieces, like Libitina or Rumor. So many events occur that will entertain audiences, making them ride full blown emotional roller coasters as if they were watching a short film. On the other side, players are in maximum sweat mode, FCing the most unFC-able songs we can ever imagine. Matt was literally a joke mod back in the day, and now we have absolute machines FCing things like Sporting and even going as far as to PFC entire Dave and Bambi mods. It's genuinely impressive.
This community is one of the more talented ones from what I've seen, and I'm honored to be a part of it even if a couple bad apples are seen here and there. We shouldn't judge the entire community off the minority; judge off the majority, of which are hard at work making revolutionary mods or completing charts that were meant to be 50/20 mode in the form of an FNF song.
We've come a long way friends. Love you guys.

For anyone that doesn't know, in Expurgation you can make the little health gremlin go away early by spamming your keys, even if you don't have any notes there. You have to spam more the later you are into the song, and this doesn't work with the last gremlin. Hope this helps, and just make sure to not hit a death note!

Note for the people who haven't beaten expurgation yet: You actually need to be at somewhat full health before 2:53 hits, because thats the moment where the tricky clone will drain your health to pixel health (not really tbh lol). If you're at only half health, he'll actually kill you, meaning you have to sacrifice your fingers again for another round of pain and suffering. Of course, the renowned rapper could never falter as Tricky has a mental breakdown due to not being able to stop you, the immovable object.

You know what's pretty neat about this mod?
This mod encourages players to not spam the 4 keys at the same time. Because otherwise in Hellclown, it'll be detrimental to losing what is essentially your health. And then here, in Expurgation, it's a straight up punishment, as it's instakill.
It's amazing how crazy this mod has become, and even though I don't know much about Madness Combat, this seems like a true tribute.
And this might have become my favorite song out of the Friday Night Funkin mods. I love how intense yet melancholic it feels. You can feel Tricky's pain and confusion. And is it me, or do i hear him scream "HAAAAANK° at 2:18?

I can kinda hear that yea. Since you're not familiar with the series, expurgation takes place in a completely different plane and is way farther in the timeline then the other songs. (Assuming big tiky is where it's normally supposed to occur in the timeline rather then a random transformation) My theory is that past tricky was just suddenly thrust into the modern environment with these powers to rap battle the funky little man, which is why it has so many gimmicks in comparison to the other ones-- Tricky is really fuckin' confused and doesn't have a solid grasp on what he's capable of.

It seems so incredibly unlikely, but if there was a mod to make official within the game, it would be this one. The incredible scale of this mod really does challenge the main game in terms of quality. Reminds of the Calamity Mod's sheer scale in relation to Terraria.
